Here is a special installment of "my thoughts". And today I am talking about the tag team division, not only WWE's but also TNA's. The tag team division used to be the top division in all of wrestling but does it still have that power?
Well back during 2000, or around that time frame, the WWE had a tag team division that no one has ever seen before. This tag team division had the best; I really mean best, tag teams in professional wrestling history. This tag team division housed the stars of Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz, and the Dudley Boys. I personally loved this time frame. This time frame gave the best tag team matches of all time. Not only were they good in regular tag team matches but in those historic ladder, TLC, and table matches. I recently watched "The Ladder Match" DVD and saw those TLC matches they put on. To tell you the truth, I could watch those matches all day long. I simply enjoyed them to a point that it just took my breath away. The tag team division was the top in all of profession wrestling but then it suddenly fell apart.
Now I know things can't last forever in wrestling, not only wrestling but everything, but I would still like to have those matches again and that tag team division. As I fast forward now, the other great time of the tag team division in the WWE is around 2003-2006. This time frame witnessed GREAT tag teams that really weren't the extreme as the Dudley Boys or Hardys but these were great in the ring. One example is "The Word's Greatest Tag Team". This had Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. This tag team had amazing chemistry that I don't think any other tag team in this time frame ever had. They put on amazing matches and were tag champs. Unfortunately, they broke up but I will never forget them. Another tag team from this era was "The Basham Brothers". Many people say they were horrible but really they don't really know wrestling if they say that. The reason why there were great is, first, they were alike. They were exact twins so they snuck in and out of the ring and really played good heels and really had the crowd boo them. I didn't like them switching but I am not suppose to like it and they referee didn't even "notice it". They were tag team champions also. Some other tag teams like Akio, now called Jimmy Wang Yang, and Sakota were fairly good also but not the better ones. At the end of 2006, we had another heel tag team that really took the WWE by storm. This tag team is "MNM". It had Johny Nitro, Joey Mercury, and Melina. This was a great heel team because, just like Basham Brothers, they looked alike. So they could have cheated at times in the match. All of these tag teams I just announced in this time frame really had great chemistry and really had tag team moves.
Lets fast forward again to this era. The WWE really seems to forget about the tag team division lately. I mean we do have tag teams but none of those really have good chemistry. The only one that really comes into mind is Carlito and Primo. They are the tag team champions on Smackdown. I see them wrestle in tag team matches and they really do have good chemistry. They tag in frequently and really take it to their opponent. On ECW, but now we see them on Raw too, we have a tag team of "The Miz and John Morrison". This tag team is good. I like how both of these stars wrestle in the ring but I don't see them being one of the great tag teams of this time. They could step in up but other than that, I don't see them to great as they say but then again they are in character. C.M. Punk and Kofi Kingston are the tag champs on Raw but I really don't like this tag team. They don't seem like they actually have chemistry and they really don't have any tag team moves what so ever. Other than those tag teams, there really aren't any other ones in the WWE. I mean ECW has nothing, Raw has nothing and Smackdown has the one I announced. The only other one is Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. This again was a look-a-like team as both looked alike and they could switch in the ring with the ref not looking. They had good chemistry but not really tag team moves and having chemistry and tag team moves is the main part in a tag team. They were former tag champs and I liked their work.
TNA is a different story. Now many say TNA has the better roster for the high fliers and for the women's division. I agree with both of those but their tag team is hard to call. Let's start with "Beer Money". This team has good chemistry but I am not sure about their moves but they are the TNA tag champions. Matt Morgan and Abyss really aren't a tag team at all. They have SOME chemistry but not enough for a tag team faction. They don't have tag team moves at all which really makes their matches boring when they team up. "The Latin American Exchange, LAX" have good chemistry and some tag team moves and I think they are probably the best tag teams in TNA now. Even though "The Dudley Boys" are part of TNA, I think they aren't as good as they are and really lost their perfection. They do good in stipulation matches like we saw in 2000. I particularly like the earlier tag teams in TNA, just how I like the earlier tag teams in WWE, for many reasons. They had "America's Most Wanted" and "The Naturals". They were the tag teams that had it all and I really think they were the best tag teams during the 2003-2005 or 2006. I forget the exact time they broke up and when they started but it really doesn't matter.
Overall, I think the past was the tag team era but now it has just sat and spoiled like and expiration date for milk. No matter if it's TNA or WWE; both really don't have tremendous tag teams like we saw. I wouldn't say have "The Hardys" team up again or, if Christian comes back, have him team up with Edge as they are at the point of their career that they shouldn't be like that again but it would be nice. To me, I think the best tag team in history is The Dudley Boys. It doesn't matter if they are in table's matches or a regular tag match; they made it entertaining no matter what. They may have lost their lust but they are still wrestling and are still great and better back in the day. That is all for "my thoughts" for now but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon. If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me. Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours? Talk to you next time!
It's Raw Revenge time. That's right, Raw was yesterday which means it's time to hear my thoughts and rating for it. Now I have a bone to pick with Stephanie McMahon. Well first, she had the Raw forum. I liked this segment very much. The superstars asked questions that I wanted her to answer. The "where's Mr. McMahon at" question was good and so was the "Cena's title match". Unfortunately, I didn't like her answers because they weren't true. But first of all, there must be a McMahon storyline because when Steph answered the question, her eyes shifted another direction like she was hiding something about Vince. I don't know if I am thinking too much or if anyone else saw that, but it may be a clue. For the record, her one answer was wrong. I know it's all scripted and is all a storyline, but she said Cena was the top contender. NO HE WASN'T! His last match was at Summerslam. He wasn't even facing for the title, he was facing Batista. And worse, he lost that match! You do not know how angry I am with this. You can't change my opinion and there is nothing you can say about why Cena deserves the title. Tune in this weekend for "My Famous PPV Predictions" blog where I talk more about this match.
Santino's rapping was very good and I couldn't stop laughing. The Matches they had weren't the best but were alright. Usually I have a favorite match, but I didn't this week. The two tag team matches, JBL and Kane vs. Cryme Time, and Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels vs. John Morrison and The Miz, were exciting matches but weren't the most exciting matches I saw this month. The Rey and HBK tag match was better than the other one, I think, and it probably ended the most unpredictable way. I never thought Morrison would come in. I saw HBK hit Miz with the superkick and I knew it was going to be over but then John did the same thing to HBK, I think it was even better than Shawn's kick, and got the "didn't see that coming win". I was surprised that Matt Hardy fought as I heard he was pretty banged up. The diva's title was pretty good, but I would of liked to see Victoria win. What I didn't get was when Steph announced a Hall of Famer. I mean I think it was nice and respectful but I don't see how it fits in this the spot they put it in.
The Lumberjack match was a classic style Lumberjack match. What I mean classic by is, it had superstars all throughout the outside, it had both stars getting thrown to the outside, both of the stars got beat up on the outside. At first, the match was boring but then it got more exciting and pretty good. it wasn't the best lumberjack match I saw but good for this show. I ABSOLUTLY saw the ending coming. There was no doubt in my mind that it was going to happen. You could pretty much make a conclusion with how many times King, Cole, Chris Jericho, and Stephanie said it would be total chaos.
Overall: Raw was pretty interesting but not the action I was looking for. It could have been more exciting but I was glad to see Stephanie on the show again. It seemed like there was more talking then action on Raw yesterday. I am giving Raw 3.5 out of 5 stars. Last week I gave Raw a 4 but this is a low, low 3.5 or may be very high 3, whatever you want to think about it as. The only thing that made it a 3.5 is because of Santino's rapping and seeing Stephanie again! That's my rating, what's yours?
What can I say about Smackdown this week? Welcome once again for "My Infamous Smackdown Recap" as I will share with you my thoughts and what happened on Smackdown.
Smackdown started off with a Casket in the middle of the ring and The Undertaker was talking about his Casket match at Survivor Series. We then saw him come out of the casket but then we saw Jeff Hardy come on the titan tron. I don't know if it was me or not but Jeff was looked very strange on this episode. His paint he wore on his face looked like he was something out of a horror movie. Anyway, Jeff stated that he will beat The Undertaker in the Extreme Rules match. Well I will get to that match later.
Smackdown's first match was Shelton Benjamin, who is the U.S. Champion, going against Matt Hardy, who is the ECW champion. Yes, this match was a champion vs. champion match and I can easily say that this match felt like it. At first this match seemed quite boring. Matt was working on the arm of Shelton so the match didn't go anywhere. But after working on the arm, the match picked up big time and tore the house down. Every time I hear Shelton Benjamin is going to wrestle, I know it will be a great match. Benjamin is a great athlete that is the future of this business. I am just amazed by the moves and the stunts Shelton does. I would really like to see Shelton be in the main event status by now as I know he will be great against the other stars, but I don't think WWE will do that. With that being said, I still like Benjamin in mid-card matches. Both Matt and Shelton were working to their best in this match. They gave it their all and it really turned out to be a very unpredictable and exciting match. I am a fan of Benjamin but unfortunately he lost this match.
The second match on Smackdown was The Brian Kendrick vs., one half of the WWE tag team champions, Carlito. As you may know by now, I am a huge fan of Kendrick. He is the future of this business. Every time Kendrick is fighting, I know it will be an entertaining match. I do have to say that this match was every exciting and very unpredictable. I surely thought Brian was going to lose when Carlito pinned him but he kicked out at the last possible moment. Overall, Kendrick won the match but it was very close. I am glad to see him win and I wouldn't mind, just like Benjamin, to see him in the main event status. After the match, we saw The Brian Kendrick dance in the ring again which is very eccentric but very funny.
Another match was for the diva's championship. It was Maria vs. Michelle McCool. Now I would have liked if this match lasted longer as it only lasted about 5 minutes and let me remind you it was a title match. This match really didn't have any exciting ring to it like the Benjamin and Hardy match. We saw for weeks now that Festus has a crush on Maria. So with that being said, we saw Festus coming out with a stuffed animal. McCool got the win and after that Festus gave Maria the stuffed animal. I would like to see a rematch against these two stars but next time is should be an entertaining and it should last more than 10 minutes.
We also saw a contract signing on this episode. The contract signing was for the WWE title at Survivor Series. We heard Triple H making his weekly jokes toward a star and he made them to Vickie Guerrero. I just love the jokes he makes, even though the writers write the jokes up. He always makes them even funnier when he says it. After the contract signing, Jeff Hardy came out and went up to the top rope and put Kozlov right throw the table. Jeff then ripped up the title contract and through it right in the face of HHH.
Another match we saw was MVP fighting. Now MVP has been on a losing streak for weeks, if not a couple months. MVP fought against the superstar who is getting a great push by the WWE, Kung Fu-Nakie. This match also didn't last long as we saw The Great Khali come out as you may know he is in a rivalry against MVP. MVP got distracted and Kung Fu-Nakie got the advantage and when MVP turned around, Nakie just the standing scissors kick and got the win.
Right after that match we saw the Khali Kiss Cam. Now I have to say this is one of the favorite segments in all of WWE. WWE just picks the most outrages, the weirdest people they can find. They a person but instead of her kissing Khali, she gets an opportunity to kiss The Great Khali. I could watch this segment every week on Smackdown and I will never get tired of it.
The main event of the evening was Jeff Hardy vs. The Undertaker in an Extreme Rules match. I was looking forward to this match all week and it didn't disappoint me at all. As soon as the match went underway, they both fought outside of the ring. Jeff gave it all and was running off the barriers right onto Taker. During the course of the match, we saw several weapons being used. We saw a chair, kendo stick, and last but certainly not least a ladder. Both used the chair and smacked each other with it in the sternum, back and head. Jeff used the kendo stick right to Taker and left marks on his back and on his head. We saw Jeff jump off the ring steps and landed right into the crowd right after hitting Taker off his feet. With match went everywhere and it was everything I expected. Remember, this is TV. WWE will not have gory, brutal, and violent matches on TV but they would have it on a PPV. Right before the ending, we saw Big Show come into the ring and attacked The Undertaker by choke slamming him. Having The Big Show interfere in the match really was a turndown as I would have liked to see a one on one contest with no interruptions but at least it was Extreme rules so there were no Disqualifications. Both Jeff and Take worked together to knock Show right out of the ring but Jeff got the up hand and knocked The Undertaker off his feet with a viscous chair shot. Hardy then went up to the top of the ladder and landed a HUGE leg drop off it right onto Taker and got the win. Now this match kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the time. I was shocked by the ending and never expected it, which I always want. We then saw Jeff talk to Smackdown's GM, Vickie, and she said Jeff will fight HHH next week and if he wins he will be in the WWE title match at Survivor Series.
What a show we had here tonight. This show beat this week's Raw show without a doubt and I have to say Raw was really good too. Now I can't wait for next week's Smackdown as we will see Jeff vs. HHH and this will be another great show! That's all the time I have now but what are your thoughts?

tihs is a special installment of "my thoughts". And today I am talking about Eddie Guerrero. i wrote this a couple weeks ago, but since its 3 years since his passing, i decided to post it today as weel. Eddie Guerrero was caught lying, cheating, and stealing but does that really characterize his career?
Well I do not think that it does. He may have cheated in matches before, he may have lied to several people, and he maybe stole some titles here and there but that is all part of the game. I am doing this blog to show respect and let his career finally rest, not for telling how he was good.
Now he is good, I mean really good. He is a great athlete, a great superstar, and a great champion. I was never a BIG fan of his work. He wrestled in Mexico, WCW, in other promotions and in WWE. I only watched him in WWE though. I only remember him wrestling on Smackdown. As I said in my other blogs, I have the ladder match DVD. Eddie had a match against RVD in a ladder match back on May 27, 2002. That was one heck of a match. Like I said before, I remember him on Smackdown back in 2003-2005. During that time frame, he faced Kurt Angle, JBL, and Rey Mysterio. Those were his biggest rivalries on there. The match at Wrestlemania when he faced Kurt Angle was one of the best technical matches. The matches he had with JBL, like the Texas bull rope match, was priceless. The storyline he had with Rey was really controversial.
I said I wasn't a big fan of him. Meaning, I didn't buy his shirts or posters but I liked his work. He put on great matches. I think he should have been a main event star sooner. When he was WWE champion, he was extremely well at it. He did cheat in matches but that is all part of the game. He did lie but that is all part of the show. He did steal but that makes the show interesting.
I was lucky enough to see Eddie face in action in person. Back in 2005 at the PPV No Way Out, he teamed up with Rey Mysterio to take on The Basham brothers for the tag titles. If you want to know, Eddie and Rey one the tag title for that match. I was amazed at his skills.
It's a very terrible thing that he had to pass when he did. He was at the top of his game at the time. if he was in WWE right now, I know he would either be champion, battling for the title, or in the main event somehow. He was a real asset to the Smackdown show and really showed off his country of Mexico. I am glad he is in the Hall of Fame. He deserved it.
Many people talk about Vickie Guerrero now as she is the GM of Smackdown. Many people want her fired and many people say that she is a disgrace to the Guerrero family. Well that is completely wrong. If you look at what she has done, she is the most heated star in WWE. She is a real heel. Every time she comes down the entrance ramp, either by walking or wheelchair, or if she is on the titan tron, she gets booed by the WHOLE crowd for 5 minutes straight. The crowd could boo her 10 minutes if they want to but it's only a 2 hour show. Personally, I am a fan of Vickie so I wouldn't boo her. The storyline she had with Edge and Taker made Smackdown the #1 show for me, yes it beat Raw! I don't think she is a disgrace to the Guerrero at all. I think Eddie would be proud of her. Just look how big her character is, look how big of a reaction she gets, and look what she done for Smackdown. All of that and so much more, Eddie would just be in shock. How can you be a disgrace when you are doing a good job? You can't be a disgrace. Trust me, Eddie would be happy for her and he would have her keep doing it.
All said and done, Eddie is one of the best but also unrecognized in wrestling. I am sorry he had to go as I could continue to watch his frog splash. He will never be forgotten but now leave his career alone as people should move on. REST IN PEACE EDDIE, WE WILL NEVER FORGET! That is all for "my thoughts" for now but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon. If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me. Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours? Talk to you next time! Viva La Raza!
