Here is another installment of "my thoughts".  And today I am talking Edge.  Edge is called The Rated R superstar, but does he really life up to that?

I think he does life up to that name, but just recently.  When Edge became a main event star, he got called that name.  I would say before that, he was never the Rated R superstar, but now he is.  His character is so controversial.  He does things that really is rated R.  Now I have a bone to pick with WWE and the WWE audience.

First, I would like to start with the WWE.  Edge has been in the WWE for around 15 years.  With a decade and a half, he is a veteran.  Anyway, WWE only made Edge a main event star just in 2005.  That was only 3 years ago.  3 YEARS!  Now I am glad he became a main event star in my era and when I was watching wrestling, but I am angry that he just got what he deserves a couple years back.  Undertaker rose to main event status less than a year.  Taker has been in the WWE for 18+ years.  The Rock has become a main event star in less than a year.  Why hasn't Edge gotten to that status in that time?  Well I really don't know for sure, but it is really upsetting.  I am glad that Edge hasn't become a main event star in less than a year or a couple years because during that time, he teamed up with his brother, Christian.  They were tag team champs and became the biggest tag team in that era and had some of the best tag matches that anyone will ever see.  But after that, he should have been the top star.

With that being said, I have a bone to pick with the WWE audience.  Now many people are fans of Edge, myself included.  I have seen fans that hate Edge.  They say that he is the worst star ever and yada yada.  They truly don't respect him.  Some people can't stand him and they say he should be fired or leave.  Now if you say that, you really don't know what you are talking about.  The only reason why people say that is because they are into the storyline and character.  They don't like his character because he is a heel, but if he was a baby face then everyone would cheer for him.  I am personally fine with that.  They can cheer for whoever they want.  But they shouldn't go as far by saying he is the worst and he should be fired.  People say they know so much about wrestling, and they say Edge is the worst and so on.  They are just full of it.  If they took a look at those ladder and TLC matches he was in with the hardy's and Dugley boys, then they would see how good he is.  He entertained the fans like no other and really put on a show.

I have to say that Edge THE person who revolutionized the ladder match.  He took it to incredible heights and no one could do what he could do in those ladder matches.  He is simply the best in them and surely beats HBK, Jeff Hardy, Y2J and many, MANY others.

After that is out of my system, I want to share some information on what I think about Edge and not about WWE or the fans.  I was never a real fan of Edge years ago.  I saw him as a superstar.  I never saw him good.  I liked him in matches, but never really appreciated it.  When he won the world title for the first time in 2005, I thought he would be a terrible champion and really couldn't do anything.  I was wrong.    The storyline where I saw him as great was the Vickie, Edge, and Undertaker storyline that happened this past year.  I recently got "The Ladder Match" DVD.  I watched quite a few of matches on there.  I saw matches of Edge and I realized what he has done for WWE and what he has been through.  Seeing that, I am just surprised that he wasn't a major champion before.  Even though I see Edge as a veteran, I see him winning many more major titles.  He could win tag titles, US titles, and the WWE title.  I don't see him mush going to fight for the US title or Intercontinental title.  He is a main event caliber star and if he did face for the US title, I would be extremely upset and I would think that would be a disgrace.  I am really getting to like Edge now.  I can't wait until he comes back.  He is getting to be a star that is in controversial storylines.  I think Edge is one of the best, or THE best, performer in WWE history.  I say performer because he really was in great matches and did some great moves in them.  One that I will never forget is Edge spearing Jeff Hardy on a ladder while Jeff was hanging off the title.  Like I say performer and not wrestler because he really made people show their emotions.  Either by making the fans dumbfounded with his moves, or making us upset with staying with Vickie or Lita, or even making us cheer by cheating on Vickie.

Bottom line, Edge is one of the best there is and I don't think people realize it.  I am trying to get across what Edge has done.  Just like me, I want people to see Edge's talent.  I am mad that I didn't see it sooner and mad because he didn't become a main event star earlier.  I am happy that I see Edge's talent now and that he become a main star in my era.  Keep going Edge and continue to make my proud by being the most UNRECONGIZED star in WWE history!  That is all for "my thoughts" for now but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon.  If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me.  Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours?  Talk to you next time!

    My thoughts on The Rock

Here is another installment of "my thoughts".  And today I am talking about The Rock.  They say he is the people's champ and the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.

First off, having those names COULD mean something.  I cheered for The Rock.  He is a great star and athlete.  He came in at the right time in WWE. He came in during the attitude era.  During that time, he became the biggest star in WWE in less than a year.  Like I said, I think he is a great star and I cheered for him, but I wasn't really a fan.  Now he was one of the greatest stars in that era and one of the best in WWE history.  He is a third generation star, but I wasn't a big fan.  He became a 7 time world champion.  I have the outmost respect for him.  When he was in WWE, he had some of the great matches and fought some of the greatest stars.  He faced Kurt Angle, HHH, Stone Cold Steve Austin and many others.  Being a third generation star, he was great.  He really knew how to take falls and how to act.  Really, I don't remember any of his matches as I don't see them to be real big.

Probably the most memorable thing that The Rock did was his interviews and in-ring promos.  He was great on the microphone.  He always made interviews and other segments very funny.  No matter what he said, either "do you smell what the rock is cooking" of some other catch phrase, it always caught fan's attention and really made it enjoyable.

As for The Rock now, I am completely fine with his decision to make movies.  Many fans of WWE said that he turned his back on WWE.  Personally, I don't think he did that at all.  He loved wrestling. It was in his blood.  Even though he was amazing, he could do whatever he wants to do.  That is his decision.  He can say what he wants to have for a career.  It made many people angry, but really they have to deal with it.

He became successful on the big screen now.  Without being in the wrestling ring for a long time, many people want him back.  To tell you the truth, I don't.  He had his time and I don't think WWE needs him.  It may bring up ratings, but I don't really think so.  We have great stars now that may be better than him.  I don't think we need his comedy either.  We have Santino and Jillian and a lot of others.  Both of them make me laugh when they are in interviews or other segments.

The Rock became a house hold name in the squared circle and on the big screen.  His wrestling days are over.  People just need to respect that.  I don't think he will ever to come back to wrestling and fight.  He may be in ONE more match, but I highly doubted that.  Times have changed and people need to change with the time.  The Rock era is over in WWE.  That is all for "my thoughts" for now but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon.  If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me.  Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours?  Talk to you next time!

My thoughts on Shawn Michaels; #1 contender

Here is another installment of "my thoughts".  And today I am talking about Shawn Michaels.  Not only am I giving my thoughts on Shawn Michaels, but also on his #1 contender opportunity.

Now I respect Shawn Michaels and everything he did for the company.  I like the work he does in and out of the ring, but he has done the ring business for so long.  He is facing Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship in a match that HBK says he revolutionized, and that match is a ladder match.  Now I just want to say this, I don't think that HBK revolutionized the ladder match.  I mean he did as he was one of the first ones to use it as a weapon and do some crazy moves off of it.  He did push the handle bar for others but really if you look at that match now, that seems like a simple match.  I say that Edge or Jeff Hardy has revolutionized the ladder match in ways that no one can beat.

Anyway, I am saying that this is HBK's death match.  Not to offend anyone or make them mad, but it's true.  Where HBK is in his career, he shouldn't be in this kind of match.  He has been through so many injuries and been through so much, really I don't think he could or really should be in this match. Most of you will say that he has been in this kind of matches before, but if you look, from there to now he has gotten so many injuries, he has retired from the ring, and had many surgeries.

I hope Shawn will win this match, but I don't see that happening.  Even though Shawn hasn't won recently, he deserves it.  Some people are saying that he didn't win against Y2J in that unsanctioned match, but if I recall, at the end of the match the announcer said that Y2J could no longer compete and as a result Shawn Michaels is the winner.  If they say that, then he won the match, which is the bottom line.  Like I said, Even though Michaels isn't winning much, he is LONG OVERDUE for a title shot.  He hasn't held any major championship for years.  In those years, he has won and loosed, but he preformed like a hall of famer and now he is just getting a title shot.

I say that he would get AT LEAST one more title by the time he retires like the intercontinental and tag team titles, but it seems like he is further and further away from being a major champion.  With his light schedule, his series of injuries and what he has been through in his career it looks like it is coming to an end.  I really can't predict on when he will retire, and I don't think that anyone should predict on that kind of big announcement.  Shawn Michaels has been one of the best Stars, ladder match participants, and champion in wrestling history.  He is adding to his career every single month and year.  He is no doubt a Hall of Famer and I will never forget him for everything he does for this business.  That is all for "my thoughts" for now but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon.  If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me.  Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours?  Talk to you next time!

    My thoughts on Brie Bella

Friday, September 19, 2008, 05:50 PM EST [My thoughts on...]
    Posted By: McMahon 101

Here is another installment of "my thoughts".  And today I am talking about Brie Bella from a request by Lhill.

Brie Bella just came on Smackdown just a couple weeks ago.  Now really I don't know her background as she just came on WWE TV, but there are some things I have to say.  Now I think I got a better evaluation of her and how she wrestles as when she first came on Smackdown, I was at that show.  Now as soon as she came out, I knew she was new.  I always like seeing new stars and seeing what they are like.  Now seeing her wrestle at the event was interesting.  Her first match on Smackdown was against Victoria.  Now Victoria was a former women's champion and one of the biggest divas in WWE in 2002.  She is a veteran superstar and having a brand new star, Brie Bella, beat her really says something.

It's saying that she is going to be a great star in the future and be on top of her division.  I don't think WWE is using Victoria right as she plays dumb.  WWE needs to execute her better but as I see it, I don't really see Brie Bella being that good if she beat Victoria.  I don't think beating Victoria is that great.  I mean WWE Is making Victoria to lose her lust and lose what she was like back a couple years ago.  But Brie faced Victoria twice and beat her both times.  Beating her twice just says she won two matches.

If she beat Natalya or Mickie James, then it would mean something.  I just don't see Victoria such a threat anymore but I want her to be.  Now many, if not all of you know that Brie Bella goes under the ring and switches with another person. That other person is her twin.  Now the first time, I couldn't tell but the second time I could see it perfectly.  I think that is a great move that Brie Bella does.  but i would just like to say that Brie Bella is not doing this as WWE creative team wrote this and it is not by accident.

"She" is sneaky and underhanded.  Even though that means she is cheating in the match it is a perfect maneuver she is doing.  She gets the work done and then gives her sister the win.  Really the matches she is in are more like handicap matches and really Brie Bella doesn't get the win as her sister should.  I don't think Brie Bella is a great wrestler. I have seen her wrestle a couple times now and I don't see anything special.  I saw better and saw worse but I hope she improves later on.

Does her switching with her sister in her match change my thoughts on her?  Not really.  I think it's a good idea and I like it.  It does show that she is weak as she is cannot compete in a full match, but really she is a master move that really catches everyone off guard and really no one knew the first time.   To tell you the truth, I don't think she will last long in WWE.  Really the switching between the two sisters will not last forever.  I don't think she is really divas champion material.  I know that the fans decide whether the star should stay or not as if the star gets more popular by the fans, she will stay but I don't see her lasting in WWE for a long period of time.  I think she should and try to get better and then see, but really I don't think she is ready of any title. That is why I think her going under the ring and changing people and fighting Victoria is for.  It's like a lackluster storyline where it just passes time.

Harsh words by me, but really that is what this blog series is all about.  That is all for "my thoughts" for now but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon.  If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me.  Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours?  Talk to you next time!

    My thoughts on Batista

Here is another installment of "my thoughts".  And today I am talking about Batista from a request of a friend of mine.  Batista's nickname is The Animal and he lives up to that name.  Batista came into the WWE in 2002. That year so many stars came in the WWE as that was like their baby boomer year.  They had Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, John Cena and, of course, Batista and others.  Batista made his debut on RAW with the stable Evolution.  In that stable, it had the stars of Batista, Ric Flair, Triple H, and Randy Orton who also made his debut in 2002.  This stable lead RAW and really became the ultimate heal stable.  Seeing Randy and Batista, I knew that they would be the future of this business and I know that I lived up to that statement.  Batista fought in some great matches. For example, at Wrestlemania 20, he teamed up with Randy Orton and they went against The Rock and Mick Foley.  Couple years later, Batista went on to win the Royal Rumble and went to face his former mentor HHH. Batista won the biggest match of his career as he became the world heavyweight champ in that match.  After that both of them had different matches. The rivalry ended with a Hell in the Cell match and Batista said, that match was his favorite in his career.  Batista got drafted to Smackdown in a draft lottery and became a big star on that show as well. He had some of the biggest storylines and rivalries when coming to Smackdown. He faced Booker T, Edge, The Undertaker and many others.  After all of these famous rivalries, he got drafted back to RAW in the 2008 draft.  He is now having some great rivalries on that show.  My thoughts on Batista are very positive.  I like Batista.  He is a great star, great actor, and great entertainer.  He really puts on a great match every time he wrestles.  He gives it his all in every single matches and gives the fans what they paid for and to show them a great time.  I don't think Batista is at his prime yet.  He is still new to this company since only being in WWE for 6 years.  That is a lot but still he has a long time ahead of him.  I still think Batista is young and that his prime will come and he will be bigger and better than he is now.  He is the future of this business and everyone knows that.  He is a former world champ, but he will still be a major champ and win quite a few more before his career comes to an end.  I am not sure how many major titles he won, I think its 4-6, but I expect to see him reach up to 10 or even 12.  He has a lot of time and will only get more experienced.  At Summerslam, he faced john Cena to see who is better.  I think out of those stars, Batista is the better wrestler and can carry this company with no question.  John is better with the money making process of WWE. He sells millions and millions of dollars of merchandise and connects to the crowd, but I do think that Batista is better.  Both of them are said to take steroids as they can't look like that and be that big.  I know for a fact that John and Batista don't.  Batista connects to the fans in a different way and will not damage his popularity for that.  Also if he did, then why hasn't he got suspended?  Many people say that WWE looks out for the main event stars and won't suspend them, but that is not true at all, just look at Jeff Hardy.  See Batista to only get bigger in this company as time passes by.  You may like him or hate him, but really think how good he is and how strong he is.  He is a BIG part of this company and will be for MANY, MANY more years to come.  That is all for "my thoughts" for today but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon.  If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me.  Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours?  Talk to you next time!
