As Smackdown aired just hours ago on My Network TV, it's time for "My infamous smackdown recap". Now I am starting out with big things poppin, little things droppin. It started out with the superstar on the losing streak, MVP. He had his MVP Lounge. Now he didn't get far into the show as The Great Khali came out and interrupted him. I personally like The Great Khali now. I know it may sound weird, but ever since he started the Kiss cam, I am excited every time he comes on the TV screen. He came out and had another kiss cam. I just like to mention that the kiss cam is one of my favorite segments in all of WWE. Anyway, he kissed 2 ladies on this episode. If this goes on forever, I wouldn't mind as I could see this every single week no matter how long it might be aired.
With Smackdown starting out with this segment, I knew it was going to be a good show but was I right? Well the next match was Shelton Benjamin vs. R-Truth for the US title. When I saw this match on paper, I knew that it was going to be an action packed match. Every time Benjamin is in the ring, he always surprises me and I know it will be exciting. I was rooting for Shelton in this match as I think he is the better star and luckily he won.
The bad part was Smackdown went downhill from there. The matches become less entertaining and less exciting. The other match that really took my interest was the tag team match of HHH and Jeff vs. Miz and Morrison. That was an exciting match but Jeff went crazy.
I was glad to see Vickie Guerrero on Smackdown again and we saw her at different periods during the show. She wanted to find a star that really can take down The Undertaker and while she was doing that, she came across several stars like MVP, Jeff Hardy, and Big Show. MVP faced The Great Khali in a match and that match was an okay match. The diva's match was pretty good. We saw the Brie Bella Twin's, finally, but we now know its official. I was surprised we didn't see Carlito and Primo in action but they were on TV for 5 seconds.
The other part that was great was The Brian Kendrick. I know he didn't wrestle, he should have, but he didn't. His bodyguard did though. He faced Jimmy Wang Yang. Like JR said, I think Jimmy should get a bigger push and have more on Smackdown. Anyway, I loved Kendrick's dancing and his segment in the back as he talked to Jimmy Wang Yang. His bodyguard won but the best part of that match was the ending where Kendrick was running around the ring and dancing. He must take dancing lessons or something as his dancing always gets better. I know he is the future of this business and I just love his character. Go Kendrick go!
The main event wasn't what expected. I thought it was going to be great but it didn't really interest me. I don't know why, but it didn't click for me. The ending was amazing though. Jeff is on a rampage to show Vickie that he can beat HHH for the title. He came out with a chair and attacked Kozlov and The Undertaker, which surprised me. At the end, Jeff went into Vickie's office and acted like the estranged Edge right before he took a break. You may know what I am talking about. When Edge that was going crazy on Vickie and so on. Anyway, When Jeff was talking to Vickie that reminded me of Edge's character. The match next week, The Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy in an Extreme rules match, should be a phenomenal match. I can't wait for that match. Those are the main points of Smackdown. that is all the time today but don't miss next week's Smackdown.
i see the blog page is back working so i decided to repost this as not many people saw it before. Anyway, I would like to say WOW. I just can't believe how great smackdown was yesterday. Throughout the night, it had insane action, great humor and everything in between.
I don't want to take up your time so I am going to announce some of the matches. First, the intro with HHH was interesting. Jeff came out and then Kozlov and HHH pedigreed Jeff. It was nice to see Triple H get one up on Hardy.
The diva's match was just amazing. It was better than Raw's. Natalya was excellent in it and I was very impressed with Michelle. Festus coming out was hilarious. Maria was so surprised and happy that she got a flower. Maryse also impressed me as she got the win.
We saw Kung Fu Naki wrestle with R-Truth against Benjamin and MVP. Now I feel sorry for MVP because he keeps on losing and he shouldn't. I mean he is a great star and he shouldn't be losing for months and months. I am glad though that Naki got the victory. It is good to see him getting a push.
The Brian Kendrick fought last night which always makes the show great. As always, Kendrick won. I liked his coat he was wearing, had the green and yellow and every other color you can think of and his dancing was good too.
The only upsetting part was Vickie not being on. She is the GM and she wasn't on at all. Every time she is on, it makes the show even more entertaining. That was the only bad part but it is easier fixed.
The Great Khali kiss cam was funny and the funniest thing in the WWE this week. It even beats Santino's segment. The one letter was from a girl and one from a guy and Khali ripped the guy's letter. It sounds so simple to think of it but the writers of Smackdown are just excellent. I loved Khali's face as he was about to his the girl. I think WWE found something that he is good at and that is having his own segment. It is certainly better than him wrestling.
The main event was phenomenal. It was easily a 4 or 4.5 star match. It would have been a 5 star match if there was an actual winner without interference. It seems like WWE ruins good matches all the time but I know that won't be the last we see HHH vs. Taker. Big Show just pounded Taker. Then Kozlov pounded HHH. It was a good ending with a great epic show.
welcome to a new edtion of "My infamous Smackdown recap". as Smackdown has been on My Network TV for 3 weeks now, they are breaking records but lets talk about Smackdown (SD). i made it just in time for Smackdown tonight. when SD first started on air, it started with Big Show in the ring. he was talking about his match he is going to have at Cyber Sunday. he announced that the match stipulation could either be a Last Man Standing, I Quit Match, or a Knockout Match. they said that this is the only match that is going to be voted on WWE.com. i can tell you that i am not voting via text but i will vote, actually i voted already, for the match stipulation. anyway, after show announced the matches, he had 3 demonstrations for the match types. even though they were short, it was pretty interesting. i mean, since when did we see a table being used on smackdown? not for awhile.
i have to say that each week, more and more matches are being added to Smackdown and Raw. this week Smackdown had 7 matches, which is impressive. having 7 though doesnt mean that they were good, were they? well i will tell you on what i think:
the first match of the night was for the WWE tag team championships. it was Carlto and Primo vs. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder. i would have liked this match to be longer. it seemed very short to my standards. even though it was short, it had some great action. everytime Primo is in the ring, he always makes it entertaining. he just flies around the ring and is so exciting. since he was doing that, he got the win for his team and kept the tag titles.
As you all know, i hope, i am a big fan of The Brian Kendrick. i was upset last week when he wasnt on. i heard that he wasnt on this week but when he came out, my face just light up and made the show that much better. i would have loved him to wrestle but he couldnt. he said he has problems with his throat and the docters advised him not to wrestle. well i was upset with that as he didnt wrestle but his body guard did. it was Ezekial Jackson against Super Crazy. this was a very quick match that saw no comeback from Super Crazy. Jackson dominated the match with an easy win. luckly, that wasnt the only time Kendrick came in the ring. he came in after and gave his finisher right on Crazy laying him motionless on the mat. hopefully, Brian fights next week as i am going through Kenrick withdraw.
the match that i think had a great wrestling ability and action was MVP and R-Truth. i dont want to classify MVP as a mid card as i think he could be a main event star. anyway, when i look at the mid card on Smackdown, i think of MVP, Kendrick, Shelton, and R-truth. those are the main mid cards that are very talanted. anytime these stars on in a match, it will make the match good no matter what. and if they faced each other, like MVP and Truth, it will really be a show in a match. this match was. it had the excitement, entertainment, and the action all in one. MVP is loosing every week and needs to fix that. he is better than that and WWE is just making him lose. R-Truth won this match and it was a clean victory with no interferance. like the other match, i would like to see this match again. i think it was alittle bland at first so WWE would need to fix that.
the other tag match of the night was Jesse and Festus vs. Kenny Dykstra and Ryan Braddock. i didnt see much action in this match. Festus ran wild like he always does and that is pretty much it as what stands out in this match. of course, Jesse and Festus won. i see them contending for the WWE tag titles soon.
i was alittle disapointed that Vickie was only on the show for one brief segment. i mean she is the Smackdown GM and deserves more air time. she is still in her wheelchair and neck brace. Sorry Vickie! she went to The Great Khali and asked him to face Taker tonight and basically destory him. that is where this match comes in:
The Undertaker vs. The Great Khali. i was very happy to see Taker fighting again. I havent seen him wrestle since Summerslam as i didnt get No Mercy. that was about 2 months ago, it seemed less, but having him wrestle really brought some edge to the show. i thought WWE could use that to their advantage and advertise him wrestling. really, him and Khali wrestling each other happened before so it wouldnt be that big. i have to say though that Taker needs to change his entrance music and ring attire to the Ministry look. this match actually looked good. it looked good because taker actually battled in it. he always makes matches good when he is in it. Khali dominated most of the match but Taker came back. at the end, it was a no contest as The Big Show came out and attacked Taker. he then got a chair and ORDERED Khali to pick Taker up. well khali doesnt take orders and slammed the chair out of Show's hands. this could mean he is turning babyface, but we will have to find out. it would be intersting though to see how it goes.
the diva's Las Vegas match had a lot of action in a short amount of time. now i dont think this match was short but action was all around the ring. every diva, Natayla, Maria, Marylse, Victoria, and Brie Bella, was going after the dice above the pole on the side of the ring. i was shocked when Maria won. i didnt expect it at all. Maria is great but doesnt really have the wrestling moves but she is probably the biggest diva on Smackdown right now and giving her a title shot is good. i would like to see who wins, either Maria or Michelle. to tell you the truth, i would have liked to see Natalya win this match and win the title as i think she has the most wrestling ability of all of the Smackdown divas.
the final match of the night, the main event, was Jeff Hardy vs. Vladimir Kozlov. i knew Kozlov would pretty much dominate the match as he always does. Jeff fought back at different times but he just couldnt get the job done. Kozlov just used all of his strength to beat Jeff here tonight. i was surprised that he actually won as i thought Jeff was going to win, but Kozlov is undefeated and wont lose now.
the thing i hated most during the Smackdown show was all the commercials. they had so many commercials, before, during, after the match that made it hard to keep interest in it. they have a match, then an interiview and go to a commercial break. after the commercial, they would show a video, ex. is John Cena's surgery, and then have another commercial. during most of the matches had a commercial break in the middle of it. it really disrupted the match and my interest in the product. the match next week, HHH vs. Taker, should be, what JR says "a real slobberknocker". i am hoping this is a clean match with a clean victory from one of the stars.
that is all the time Smackdown has left us this week. please feel free to comment and rate this blog.
welcome to another edition of "My infamous smackdown recap". This was the second week that Smackdown aired on My Network TV so i knew WWE would do something to try to catch the audiance. well i think they did.
when Smackdown came on air, it started with my favorite GM and star, Vickie Guerrero. i usually dont like shows starting out with talking, as it goes on for 10 minutes, but i didnt mind having Vickie talking. she wasnt on last week, so i was happy she was on tonight. she was back in a wheelchair and had a neckbrace on again. wow, deja vu! now she did have a good segment tonight. when Kozlov came out to the ring when the Big Show was talking, i didnt know what was going to happen. would he beat up Vickie, Big Show, or just talk. he did just talk but he said he is getting a title shot from who ever wins the HHH and Big show match later on. i will get to that match later.
the first match was Natalya vs. Brie Bella. well i have to say that this was actually a great match. i dont think Brie could wrestle that well but Natalya is very good. she is a 3rd generation star and really knows how to keep you interested in the match. i knew how this match was going to end, and i was right. Brie went under the ring and then came out the other side and then went back in and then came out again. when she first went under, Victoria tried to keep her from going under. well she couldnt do it but she had a surprise. Hornswoggle came out under the ring and chased Victoria to backstage. "Brie Bella" got the pinfall and won the match. i am a fan of Natalya so i wanted her to win, but i knew Bella was.
the next match was R-Truth vs. Shelton Benjamin in a non title match. now i like this rivalry. as i watched this match, i see both of them egual. both of them have the same strength, same ability but i think Shelton is better. i could see another match put on between these two anytime. that is how good they are. R-Truth has been on a winning streak against Benjamin. well, i hope that doesnt keep up. i am a fan of Shelton and i love him being champion. he deserves it. i dont think R-Truth should get the title just yet but he is gaining popularity like no one else to this date. like i said, Truth won the match and i hope to see another match between these two again.
another match that i would love to see again would be the Jeff Hardy vs. MVP match. i said it before and i will say it again, when these two stars fight each other in a one on one match, they put on such a great match and really put on a show. these two had fought before, but i think those moves were more in favor for Jeff as they were high flying. this was mostly in the ring so the advantage goes to MVP. bad news for MVP, but he lost another match. just chalk another line up for the looses for MVP. at the end, Kozlov came out to the ring and attacked Jeff, again. jeff went to the middle rope and jumped at Kozlov but he just blocked it with his head. Kozlov is a future champion and really is the future of this business.
the 8 man tag team match was pretty good. it was Jesse, festus, Primo, and Carlito vs. Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, Ryan Braddock, and Kenny Dykstra. i would have liked this match to be longer, but really in the amount of time it was, it was a great action packed match. we seen high flying and agressive grapple moves. as you may guess it, Jesse, Festus, primo, and Carlito won. Braddock losed another match as that also adds to his losing streak. really, he only won one match on Smackdown.
The Great Khali came out and talked about his storyline with Johny knoxville. Khalie faced in a 3 on 1 hadicap match. it was him vs. Scotty Mack, Aaron Bono, and Nelson Creed. ya i know, who cares about their names right? well i have to post them for those who want to know. this was a short lived match, but a long lived laugh. two of the stars were to scared to fight Khali so they left. that left one star left and he was done and out within 10 seconds. after the match, Khali hosted the kiss cam. i think Khali likes doing the kiss cam because he gets a good laugh out of it. you really dont see Khali laugh to much, but here you did. Khali kissed some girl of the "audiance". it was quite funny to me. they need a good laugh on any WWE show to make it good.
now i wrote earlier in this blog that Kozlov wanted to face the winner of the Big show vs HHH match for the WWE title. well this match started and i was excited for it. we havent seen HHH vs. show for a long time. this match was great. Show dominated the first part of the match and then HHH came back. both went back and forth. at the end, sadly, no one won. the reason why is the Undertaker. the bell rang, the lights went out and before you knew it, Taker appeared in the ring and brought left and right punches right to the Big Show. he knocked him out of the ring. then it happened again: bell rang, lights went out, and then taker was on the entrance stage beating up Show. then again: bell rang, lights out, and him beating up the Big Show. they went backstage but then another things happens. Kozlov comes out and goes after HHH. HHH was still in the ring and Kozlov attacked Triple H. at the end, HHH was lying down, but here it goes again. Jeff Hardy comes out and goes and attacks Kozlov. HHH comes and helps Jeff get Kozlov out of the ring. then out of no where, Jeff twist of fates HHH with authority.
Next week's Smackdown looks like it will be a great one as what is going to happen between Jeff, Kozlov, HHH? and then Big Show and Taker? well that is all the time i have. Smackdown was a better show than Raw this week. please comment on what you think!
Welcome back to "my infamous smackdown recap". this week's Smackdown was a huge one. as everyone knows, it switched to My Network TV. since it changed, they needed a HUGE show. that is what we got. this show was better than Raw 10 times.
Smackdown came on the air last night with a new entrance video and music. personally, i liked the music and video as he keeps is fresh. the first match was an 8 man tag team match. it was Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Baista, and Finlay vs. Kane, The Brian Kendrick, JBL, and MVP. now this was a great way to start of Smackdown. it had the action, fast pace rush, and high flying. it had it all. i think The Brian Kendrick's dancing is improving each week, but i dont think his wrestling skill is. he is just getting beat you every week and this week, he really didnt do any offense. now you may know by now that i am a fan of him, but i think he needs to improve and have some moves he can do to get a good rating. other than that, i think MVP should have been in the match more. besides those two, the match was excellent. Jeff, Rey, Finaly, and Batista won. when i think of 8 man tags, i usually think of Raw as they always have that match. i begged that this match wouldnt turn out to be a Raw match becuase they have no action in my opinion. as a result, it didnt turn into that and was actually better than any Raw 8 man tag they had.
the next match was a champion vs. champion match. Raw's Santino vs. Shelton Benjamin. now i wanted to see who was really better in this contest. it really was a good match. who was better? well Santino won, but he got the roll up.
after that, Big show said that Vickie wasnt there tonight due to Chavo's fault. Show said he was in charge and he put Chavo in a match. the match was chavo against Mark Henry and The great khali. that was a monster team. you big monsters fighting side by side really shows how the match turned out. of course, Chavo lost, but really who can survive that match?!
Primo and Carlito were in action as it was surpose to be a tag team match but became a 6 man tag match. Primo, Carlito, and CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes, Manu, and Ted DiBiase. this was an good match. it wasnt the best of the night. i would say this was the worst of the night, but if you compare to the other matches, worse means normal. like the 8 man tag, when i think of 6 man tag, i think of Raw. they always have this match and so on. i didnt want this to be like that because how poorely Raw is doing. with that being said, Smackdown tag champs prevailed and won the match.
this match i was waiting for. i couldnt wait for this match. it was Beth vs. Michelle. Womens champ vs. Divas champ. they made this match a lumber jack match, or should i say a lumber jill match. i really didnt like that stipulation as i wanted to actually see who was better. i wanted Beth to win as i like her better and she is a better champion. Michelle is good, but i still think she needs practice. anyway, Beth did win and so did her boyfriend earlier so it was great for Glameralla. glad to see Beth win!
Big show came out to the ring and was talking abut The undertaker and what he did to Vickie. he rambled on but as he left the ring, the lights flashed and the gong noice appeared. that happened 3 times and after the third, Undertaker appeared in the ring. even though he appeared in the ring, Big Show was half way up the ramp. i cant wait to see who wins that match at the PPV.
the main event match was all of the world champions facing off in a triple threat match. Y2J vs. HHH vs Matt Hardy. this was really a main event. i love triple threat or fatal four way matches,. this one was outstanding for TV. HHH won the match. i was cheering for him the whole match. he took some hard falls, actually all of them did, but this was a great smackdown.
if you missed smackdown, i am very sorry. you missed one historic show. if you did miss it, i hope i gave you details that helped. i now know that Smackdown is better than Raw 100% and is the "A" show, at least in my mind. that is all for this smackdown, hope you liked it and comment on what you think!
