There have been a lot of discussion on who is better, Edge or The Undertaker and it all started with my one blog. For My thoughts on The Undertaker, I said that Edge is the BEST performer and Taker is 2nd. That stirred up a ton of debate on who is really better. So I will take a look at both stars and see which accomplished more and by the end of this blog, you will tell me who you think is better. Let's get started.
First of all, I don't want who you like better part of this. You may like Taker more than Edge so you will pick Taker. Please look at both sides of the story and put who you like aside and look at what they accomplished.
I would like to start with "The Rated R Superstar" Edge. Now Edge has accomplished so much in his career but only in the past 3-4 years he became a main eventer. I think Edge is the most UNRECONIZED star in WWE history. He has been in the WWE for 15 years now and only the past 3 or 4 have him at the top. With that being said, people don't see Edge big and don't see how good he was before that as they really didn't pay attention. If you look at those other years, Edge had some of the greatest matches of his career and the greatest matches ever seen. You look at those ladder and TLC matches and you can't watch them without being amazed. I have the Ladder Match DVD and when I watched it the matches, I noticed how many matches Edge was in. In those matches, he put his body, his health, his career on the line just to entertain the WWE fans. I give him a lot of respect for that. When he was in those matches, people just saw him as a star in ladder matches and really didn't pay attention. Now, people see him in the main event status and they realize he means something. He is in the main event status and is wrestling the likes of The Undertaker, Triple H, Batista, and many others. The ladder and TLC matches that Edge took place in were the best matches I have ever seen. He did pretty much anything to make us say "aw". The moment, the move that people around the world will never forget, I certainly know I won't, is when Jeff is hanging from the title with no ladder in a ladder match and Edge jumps off a 10-15 foot ladder to spear Jeff to the mat below. When I think of moments, when I think of historic, I think of that moment as it is the most popular video of any ladder match. Now Edge is a former world champion and WWE and the WWE Universe if finally seeing his talent.
There is no doubt in anyone's mind that The Undertaker is a legend in the business. The Undertaker's career is probably the most successful career in WWE history. He has accomplished so much in his career that means it's pretty much unbeatable. The Undertaker's career has been going on for more than 18 years and each year it has been successful. He became a main event star in LESS than a year. Edge took 12-13 years to become a main eventer but Taker did it in less than 365 days. Certainly, WWE saw his talent and used it. Taker had also become a major champion in no time. Now, this part really tells how good he is. The undefeated streak he has at Wrestlemania. There is no other star that is 16-0 at Wrestlemania except Taker. Edge fell victim to Taker's undefeated streak at Wrestlemania 24. Also, HHH, Big Show, Ric Flair, Batista, and many other main event stars fell victim as well. I have the DVD "Tombstone History of The Undertaker". It highlights the history of the deadman. I have tremendous respect for his career. I truly know what he has done. The most shocking factor I see in his career is he never retired. What I mean is, he may have been gone for 6 months or a year due to injury or to for a hiatus to get back into the rhyme but he always returned to the WWE ring and fought again. He leaves but comes back and entertains the audience like never before. Where he is at in his career, almost 20 years in the business, and his age I am surprised that he is still going on just shows how good he is. He is remembered for some of the most famous matches like, buries alive, inferno, casket, and Hell in the Cell. The most famous and the most memorable moment in Hell in the Cell history is when Taker threw Mankind off the top of the cell. That may beat Edge's moment but you decide.
In my opinion, I think Edge is a better performer than Taker but Taker has been threw more. With Edge's career still going, he may go through more than taker. The Undertaker done things that no one, including Edge can accomplish or beat, but Edge did things that Taker could never do. Personally, I don't really know who is actually better but I want to hear from you. Who do you think is better, Edge or The Undertaker? I gave you the facts now I want to hear your opinion!
