This is another edition of Raw's Revenge. I am sorry that I couldn't post this yesterday. Since Halloween is coming up, I had to get ready. One great event where it's the only day you can wear a mask and scare people. Anyway, as Raw started, just like last week, I wasn't excited. I haven't been excited for Raw in weeks, unlike Smackdown where I am excited every single week. Now last week on my review of Raw, I stated that Raw needed more action. They must have read and listened to my review as they did exactly what I told them. Let me explain:
Raw had great action on Monday. All of the matches weren't great, but there were ones that really stood out. Chris Jericho came out at the beginning, just like every week. Long story short, Adamle stated that Y2J could pick an opponent for Batista and Batista could pick on for Chris. When Jericho told Batista he will be facing HBK, I knew it would be a pay-per-view match. I was surprised that this match wasn't the main event, it certainly should have been. When Chris said that it was going to be an lumberjack match, I thought it would ruin the match. Ironically, it didn't. I think it may have made it better. I saw the Batista and HBK match earlier this year and that was great, so I knew it was going to be hard to match it. This match had the purist form of entertainment and action. I enjoyed this match the best and I thought it was the best. I was mad at the end though as I wanted to HAVE a winner for the match, but the lumberjacks had to come in the ring and ruin it. So there was no winner but I was eager to see what the rest of the night would bring.
I was surprised that the first match was Kane and Mark Henry vs. Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy. Really this match was alright. It didn't have the action like the HBK and Batista match, but it was pretty good. I would really like to see this match again but with REAL Smackdown action as Smackdown always seem to have the great action in their matches.
What part did I think was really interesting and exciting? This part I am talking about is the whole Santino, Beth Phoenix, The great Khali, and Johnny Knoxville. First, Santino and Beth came out and were talking. Santino was making jokes about his Cyber Sunday opponents. Then he was talking about Johnny Knoxville. He came into the ring and started to make cracks about Beth. He called her "Dude" and Santino said that you don't want to mess with him. Beth got disgusted and went and body slammed Johnny. That part was great. Santino and Beth always make me laugh when they talk. After that, Hornswoggle came out under the ring and tadpole splashed Johnny. I haven't seen Hornswoggle in so long as I don't watch ECW. The next thing was no other than The Great Khali. He came out and started smiling again and just destroyed Knoxville. I guess he showed him what entertainment was all about. Finally, Big **** Johnson came to the ring and started doing what he always does on TV. I haven't seen him in awhile and it was great that he came out. Johnny's friend then came to the ring and started dancing with Johnson. I thought this whole segment was going to end right there, but then a star came out that caught me unexpectedly was the Boogeyman. He finally is back into the WWE and I am surprised he got a big crowd reaction as he hasn't been on any WWE show for months. He came and Johnson left. Boogeyman did what made him famous and ate the worms and put it on Knoxville's friend. Wow, what a segment that was and it was all done without a commercial break. That was the best part of the night (best meaning the funniest and not action).
I was very surprised that there wasn't any one on one diva's match. They have been in mixed tag matches. They really don't seem to excite me that match but they are alright to watch. The main event was also a great entertainment and action match. It was Chris Jericho vs. an opponent who Batista picked and that was CM Punk. Batista then "named" himself the special guest referee. What really made me laugh was when I saw Batista and he ripped the ref's shirt because he couldn't even fit in it. Anyway, this wasn't a one sided match as it really went back and forth. The part I want to bring up was when Y2J got a cover on Punk and Batista counted 1-2 but right before 3, he was showing, according to his face and had motions that Batista got something in his eyes. Now if Chris did that last week, they whole crowd and the announcers would have been booing and would say that isn't right. But when Batista would do it, which he did, the whole crowd cheered and the announcers went along with it and said that the mats are dusty and its easy that he got something in his eye. That just shows how powerful the WWE makes their babyfaces and heels. Really, when I saw this happen, I just thought "ya right!" Now this match actually had a winner and it was CM Punk. What a shocker! You can almost expect that when Batista was the ref.
Overall, this show of Raw was better than last week. Actually a lot better. As you all know, if you don't I will tell you, I give a rating for the show. This week, Raw gets 3.5 out of 5 stars. Better than last week, as I said, but I hope next week is even better as a 3.5 is a just passing rating in my eyes. That's my rating, what yours?
