Here is another installment of "my thoughts". And today I am talking about The Rock. They say he is the people's champ and the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.
First off, having those names COULD mean something. I cheered for The Rock. He is a great star and athlete. He came in at the right time in WWE. He came in during the attitude era. During that time, he became the biggest star in WWE in less than a year. Like I said, I think he is a great star and I cheered for him, but I wasn't really a fan. Now he was one of the greatest stars in that era and one of the best in WWE history. He is a third generation star, but I wasn't a big fan. He became a 7 time world champion. I have the outmost respect for him. When he was in WWE, he had some of the great matches and fought some of the greatest stars. He faced Kurt Angle, HHH, Stone Cold Steve Austin and many others. Being a third generation star, he was great. He really knew how to take falls and how to act. Really, I don't remember any of his matches as I don't see them to be real big.
Probably the most memorable thing that The Rock did was his interviews and in-ring promos. He was great on the microphone. He always made interviews and other segments very funny. No matter what he said, either "do you smell what the rock is cooking" of some other catch phrase, it always caught fan's attention and really made it enjoyable.
As for The Rock now, I am completely fine with his decision to make movies. Many fans of WWE said that he turned his back on WWE. Personally, I don't think he did that at all. He loved wrestling. It was in his blood. Even though he was amazing, he could do whatever he wants to do. That is his decision. He can say what he wants to have for a career. It made many people angry, but really they have to deal with it.
He became successful on the big screen now. Without being in the wrestling ring for a long time, many people want him back. To tell you the truth, I don't. He had his time and I don't think WWE needs him. It may bring up ratings, but I don't really think so. We have great stars now that may be better than him. I don't think we need his comedy either. We have Santino and Jillian and a lot of others. Both of them make me laugh when they are in interviews or other segments.
The Rock became a house hold name in the squared circle and on the big screen. His wrestling days are over. People just need to respect that. I don't think he will ever to come back to wrestling and fight. He may be in ONE more match, but I highly doubted that. Times have changed and people need to change with the time. The Rock era is over in WWE. That is all for "my thoughts" for now but please check back to my others and wait to see my others coming soon. If you have any suggestions for a future "My thoughts" blog, then feel free to message me. Anyway that is my thoughts on this topic, but what are yours? Talk to you next time!
