Raw was last night and that means another edition of "Raw's Revenge". i briefly take a look at what happened at Raw, give my thougths and also a rating. Usually when Raw is on, i am excited. well this week, i wasnt. really last week, made Raw unappealing to me. Raw started with a wrestling match for once, as they usally start with some talking. it was Batista vs. Santino. this match was a walk in a park. with that said, i knew how Raw was going to be tonight. it seemed like Santino's job last night was making people laugh instead of wrestling. Now Santino and Beth are funny together. they really know how to act. also, WWE is really starting to make Charlie Haas funny.
to me, i think Raw was more like a comedy than a wrestling show. now dont get me wrong, every show needs comedy, but let me ask you this. where was the action? i didnt think Raw any. to tell you the truth, i usually remember the matches for Raw, but for this on, i dont. the reason is becuase, i didnt see any excitement or action of the matches. the only match was caught my attension was The Miz and John Morrison vs. Cryme Time. that match actually showed wrestling talent. it went back and forth and was fast pace. the other matches were more like a blow off.
the 8 man tag match was boring. i mean there was really nothing leading up to that match. whre does Kofi Kingston come in at? where does Punk come in at? WWE just threw those people in there and i would be furious with WWE if i was Kofi or Punk. this match was high flying and fast pace, but really i couldnt get caught up in the action. i mean what action? WWE cut to a commercial break at least twice, maybe even three times. Punk stayed in for most of the match as the whole opposing team worked on his arm. so around that time, i turned the station, then turned back to it. when i turned back, i looked at the show as "oh, what this?" i looked at it if i was a new fan of WWE. instinly i got into the match was was rooting for punk to get to his team. but shortly after that, it all faded away.
the main event match was so predictable. i KNEW that HHH would be HBK's partner. see, Smackdown is moving stations. HHH is on smackdown. they are going to try to get people to watch that show on their new station. it was so simple. i like DX, but i really didnt think it was that big last night. both HBK and HHH wrestled together, that is probably only a one time thing. this match seemed like it was rushed way to fast. HHH beating people up, Chris beating people up, Shawn coming in and then the match ended. the ending was good though. it advertised the ladder match. it was a long time since i saw Shawn on a ladder.
finally, the thing that i hated the most last night was when everyone saying it was a historic night. now i agree that it is a historic week as Wrestlemania airs on TV, smackdown going to a new station and ECW changing times. King and Cole were saying how THIS Raw was historic. they said that after every commercial break. they said that when the Great Khali and the Great Charlie were in the ring. they said that was historic. whats historic about it? NOTHING! that wont be in the recond books at all. this Raw won't be in the record books. the best thing was was historic about the show was HHH and HBK teaming up. that was it.
last week, i gave Raw a 3 out of 5 stars. BUT this week, after i wrote this review, i have to give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars. i was going to give it a 3 star but when writing this, i knew it was worse than i thought. the only thing that was good was Santino and Jillian and any other funny parts. i am just hoping Raw is way BETTER than this week!
that is my rating for Raw, but what is yours?
