its time again for my infamous smackdown recap. now as smackdown went on air tonight i was alittle nervous that the show was going to be like raw this past monday, boring. so i was excited to see what vicki was going to do next, and as soon as smackdown started, vicki was on the air so i knew it was going to start with a bang. she talked about her being under edge's control and that what you saw her do the past couple of months was not her. overall it was a good speech and i did believe her. in fact over the past couple of weeks, i started to turn into a vicki fan. yes its true. if u look at it, she is one of the best smackdown GM's ever. after she came on, the first match aired.
this match was maria vs natalyia in one on one action. now this match was pretty good and maria was in control of the match, but marysee had to come out and ruin the ending. even though maria was in control, i dont think she was going to win.
after that was a wwe championship scramble. it was MVP vs festus. now this match was pretty good. i knew MVP was going to win, but i didnt think that he will have a major title shot at this moment. overall, MVP won with a cleaver win as kicking jesse in the face and festus went to the aid of his partner and having him counted out.
the next match was also a qualifier for the scramble as shelton benjamin went against finlay. now this was, in my mind, a physical matchup. both of these stars put up a great fight. benjamin, in my opinion, is the future in this business and i am glad to see that wwe is using him to his fulliest right now. shelton always puts up a great fight and is so athletic. with benjamin winning, i knew that he would put on a great championship scramble.
the other match that happened tonight was the 10 man battle royal. now i love these kind off matches. i didnt think that big show would come in and destroy the whole match as this match was designed for mid-card stars. all of these stars in there usually dont get much match time and being in this match really gave them some time that they deserve. i think that this match was kind off a throw away match with the stars, but really i dont care. big show came in, threw almost everyone out, and left. but what he didnt know was THE BRIAN KENDRICK didnt hit the floor so he was still in the match. i am starting to be a brian kendrick fan. really he has improved so much every since the draft. i am a fan of him now even though he is a heal. i know that he is a star of the future. i think it is early for him going for the wwe title, but i would love him to win it, but i no that wouldnt happen. he has a great skill and all around great attitude for the fans. the WWE actually did a great job splitting him up with paul london.
now its the main event of the evening, and i have to say that it was a shocker. i love the work of jeff hardy. i dont like the work of the great khali as he cant wrestle. i thought that khali would be in the scramble and face for the title again like at summerslam. now how can u tell me that at the biggest party of the summer, you have the great khali fighting for the title where he cant wrestle at all, and then at unforgiven, he isnt fighting for the title? i dont get what the wwe did there, but i am sure glad that he isnt in the title picture. i am surprised that jeff won, and i think that the match was unforgiven will be great.
the ending was a great ending for me. i like any part with vicki in it. she really made smackdown number 1 and interesting for me. when she begged the undertaker to forgive her, i really wanted him to as i didnt want to see vicki to get hurt, but also i dont like la familia and i want them to get beat up and that is actually what happened. now i am going to smackdown/ecw next week and i cant wait to see what is instore for vicki. i hope nothing bad, but also i am glad to see the undertaker back where he belongs on Smackdown.
