What it's like to be a female fan!

Thursday, May 1, 2008, 10:08 PM EST [General]

I posted this blog last week in the WWE Girls group but I want to post it in the community blog area for all to see.

     Hey all,

I have been watching wrestling for over 30 years now (almost 31!).  As a girl growing up in the 80's and early 90's, I was picked on A LOT for liking wrestling.  People always asked, and still do ask, "why do you watch wrestling?...It's FAKE!"  I always tell them they are using the wrong "F-word"...It's not FAKE so much as FIXED.  I never denied the endings are predetermined.  It was about the characters themselves and their story-telling ability.

I consider myself a trailblazer for other female fans.  I took a lot of heat for liking such a MANLY thing.  My sexuality was in question even before I hit puberty!  Can you imagine I am 6 or 7 and hearing all these derogatory things being said about me because of a show I loved to watched...kids can be cruel!  However, for the record, I am straight.  LOL!

Then the late 90's hit and the "Monday Night War" was at it's peak.  All of a sudden all these haters from elementary school are running into me at the events spewing all the latest catch phrases!  They tried to talk to me and I told them all off in front of anyone who were in earshot.  I called them out on the whole "jumping on the bandwagon" bullshit!  It infuriated me the way I was razed and NOW my tormentors are seeing what I had seen for almost the last two decades.

A pet peeve of mine is bandwagon jumpers.  One week fans are cheering for their fave next they are booing him.  I don't know why it annoys me so much, It just does!  Well this is the end of this rambling.

Thanks for reading my rambling and I hope you will come back for another helping of dish served up as only I can!!

The State Of The Business in question!!

Thursday, May 1, 2008, 09:46 PM EST [General]

What the hell was with the non-ending to RAW and ECW announcers protesting?  I realize there are only so many different storylines.  Things are bound to overlap and repeat.

This is what they think will get people talking?  How about putting on a great show with compelling storylines and stop burying or letting go of interesting characters like The Boogeyman and the vampiric Kevin Thorne.

What about watering down ECW?  I mean for any fan of the original, what you see Tuesday Nights is a FAR CRY from the bingo hall brawls we thrived on.

These are just a few subjects that need to be addressed.  So please leave your comments of what you think should be done to bring wrestling back to the glory days of the mid 80's  or the late 90's.

    All Hail King Regal!

Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 01:09 AM EST [General]

    Hey all,

There is just something about Regal that has caught my eye.  From the first moment I saw him I ALWAYS respected his work ethic.  After I read his book "Walking A Golden Mile" I gained a whole new respect for the person he is and what he has done in this business.

Overcoming his addictions, repairing his personal relationships and salvaging a wonderful career.  He really is EXTRAORDINARY!  Regal reigns supreme.  He is a classy english gent!

Regal (in my opinion) is a great story-teller.  His facial expressions are just fantastic.  The match with Finley (An old friend of Regal and also a great worker) stole the show for me tonight!

Come back for another serving of dish as only I can serve it!!

I happy serve King Regal...LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!!!!!

    I'm Divalicious, and I'm a Jericholic!

    Hey all,

Just wanted to share an "AYATOLLAH" experience with you all.

When "The Sexy Beast" came to Toronto for a book signing, he was just adorable.  I gave him a gift bag full of stuffed animals for all three kids (Ash and the twins Cheyenne and Sierra!)  There also was chocolates in there for Jessica and Chris to enjoy.  He was so approachable!  Of all the wrestlers I met he ranks up there as one of my favorites just from a fan aspect.  He gave us 100% all access to him.  He was SO funny!

If you EVER, EEEEVER get the chance to meet him, I HIGHLY recommend it!!
If you have your own experience tell us all about it!  Inspire us all!

I hope I have started something with this blog.  There is another dish for ya.  Hope you come back for more.  I'll keep serving it as only I can!
