My Opinion of the Divas Championship

The Women's Championship has a storied history. Established on September 18, 1956 when The Fabulous Moolah defeated Judy Grable in Baltimore, MD. The title would not change hands until Wendi Richter defeated Moolah in Madison Square Garden July 23, 1984.

Even though it became defunct when Alundra Blaze left WWE with the title, it was reinstated September 21, 1998 in Sacramento, CA when Jacqueline defeated Sable.

From great women like Ivory, Jacqueline & even Moolah to Sable to women like The Kat, Debra, & even "Hervina", the end of the last century saw a renaissance which led to The Golden Age in Women's Wrestling.

That was an extrememly compact history of The WWE Women's Championship. Do not underestimate that, because it is rich in history. What is the legacy of the Divas Title though?

The 1st Divas Champion was, is, & sadly always will b Michelle McCool. Considering who was in WWE at the time, there were better choices. So y did she of all ppl get the "honorable" (& I use that very loosely) distinction? Her relationship w/ "The Undertaker" Mark Calloway. Some even go as far as to say it was created by her, for her. Considering what just happened in the draft, I say that theory is suspect. Regardless, would she have had that w/o him? Doubtful, it would've gone to someone better, probably Victoria or maybe even Natayla.

To b honest, the belt is a joke. Not just in the aspect of it being a 2nd rate Women's Title, but it just looks ridiculous. I've heard things like it's ugly, it's tacky, even, & I will say the exact quote, "It's so horrible it makes ne1 who wears it look sluttier.". I personally say it looks like Nightmare Barbie's Magic Butterfly Belt, but w/o the matching outfit. (Cuz u know she loves to accesorize! =P)

Trish Stratus said that WWE has too many women, & that it's to the point where they get lost in shuffle. I agree, but honestly, if WWE or ne1 really thinks that the Divas Championship is gonna help, they're wrong. Best thing to do is unify the belts & get rid of the Divas Championship, along w/ either making the division smaller or trying to get better female wrestlers.

Hopefully it happens, but it probably won't for awhile, if ever.

The End of the Golden Age of Women's Wrestling

An event that has been years in the making has finally occured, the last of the old guard has left, leaving the Women's Division of WWE splintered into nothing more than anarchy. where every woman is for themselves. It started w/ Ivory, Jacqueline & Molly Holly but it never became obvious until it was Trish leaving the scene. Then it was Lita, then Torrie & now Victoria.

Am I saying that there's no hope for Women's wrestling anymore? No, with talent like Beth Phoenix, Jillian, Mickie James & Melina on Raw, Maryse, Maria, Natayla & the Bella Twins on SD & Katie Lea on ECW, there are glimmers of hope shining in the dark abyss that is the WWE Women's Division. While the problem is partially a lack of talent, a huge part of it is that most of the new girls just care them looking good, them getting over while the rest can just rot for all they care. Most of them have no pride for their Division or their company or even for themselves, as long as they have a decent place they're content.

First let's look at the current rosters:

Raw: Beth Phoenix is their best talent, her only problem is that she needs to work on her mic skills a bit, but besides that she's great!
Candice, she needs to stop $ucking D!cks and work on, well everything. She can't talk, can't wrestle & since Vince got bored w/ her she probably can't even $uck all that well.
Jillian, get a new gimmick. The singing thing has been over done. 2 years ago it was good, but stop before u really hurt some1.
Kelly, they say she's the most improved Diva of the past year & while that isn't really saying much, it's true. Now keep up the good work & look into getting those beaver teeth fixed, if not for urself then for the fans. Some1 could lose an eye.
Layla, actually do something! Learn something to help u or get out!
If Beth is the best, Melina is a very, VERY close 2nd. She has the same problem, just needs a little work on the mic, & please, don't scream like a banshee ever again.
Mickie, from waitress to porn star to wrestler. Interesting, but she's a good wrestler. She can talk on the mic & she does have good ring skills, the only reasons I say Beth & Melina r better is cuz she stilll needs a little help in-ring sometimes when things don't go as planned. When everything does, she's great but if even a tiny thing goes off wrong, she's F'd.

As far as Raw goes, having 2 useless girls is unacceptable.

SD: The Bella Twins add something interesting that WWE hasn't really had, a female tag team. Maybe it could start a Women's Tag Division down the line but they should fix the singles before moving on to uncharted territory. Neway, Nikki is obviously the better of the 2. Brie is ok, but there's a reason y she was the 1 going under the ring & not Nikki.
Eve, read what I said for Layla. Interesting thing here is that they both won a Diva Search.
Maria, another Diva Search chick, but she's actually worth keeping around. She's a hard worker, somewhat modest, when it comes to her ringwork neway. A bit of advice, stop designing ur own clothes. It's a great effort but I personally think it's ridiculous.
Maryse, I know this is saying a lot but I think she's the best SD has right now after Natayla. She can work the ring, & she can really play a heel. When it comes to a face though, Idk.
Michelle McCool, I don't like her, she $ucks both metaphorically & literally. She should b fired cuz after close to 5 yrs w/ the company she's still that bad.
Natayla, best female on SD. W/ more experience & practice on the mic, she can b the best they'll have for awhile.

No1 cares & for good reason. It's boring, there's 1 storyline & it involves Michelle McSkank.

ECW: I'm not going to bother listing each Diva & what I think they should do. Katie Lea is the only real wrestler on there & she should b back on Raw. Alicia Fox has potential but her gimmick is horrible, I've seen my little brother dance better & she needs to work on her ring skills, a lot. Tiffany, same thing w/ Eve & Layla, ironically all Diva Search girls (Her real name is Teryn Terrell, she competed against Eve).

While they all in some ways can use some work, there's a bigger problem, they just don't seem to care nemore. Not just the Divas, but management. What the Women's Division needs, more than talent, is unity. To support each other & show that they rn't just bimbos, they rn't just Barbies, they rn't just objects. THAT is what made The Golden Age happen & THAT is what made it work & just like w/ the guys, THAT is what it needs again.
