Paul Bearer's Wife Passes Away; Details

Monday, February 2, 2009, 06:35 PM EST [WWE news]

--  I'm sad to report that Dianna Moody, the wife of former WWE manager Paul Bearer, passed away in her sleep on Sunday.   The legendary manager released the following statement  regarding her passing on the Gulf Coast Wrestling Message board this evening:

    Dianna

    Thank you all so much.

Many know that Dianne was a two time breast cancer survivor; however her lasting issues from the invasive chemo and radiation, and numerous other health problems took her from us.

I was blessed to have 30-years of marriage with her, and believe me, 30 years with me would make anybody a saint. The Pringle/Moody Family will never be the same as she was indeed the backbone for us all.

We appreciate all the calls, prayers, emails.

    Be Blessed.

    Wrestlemania 25 Predictions Part 2

Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 12:49 PM EST [WWE news]

Welcome to another edition of Shawn's thoughts, in this edition, I'll be continuing predictions for possible matches for this March's Wrestlemania 25.     With this year's Wrestlemania being WWE's 25th Anniversary for airing Wrestlemania, it should be an absolute block buster.

Shawn Michaels:   I'll be the first person to admit that I hated the JBL/HBK storyline at first, but both men are truly trying to make this believable and wow can Shawn play the "conflicted" individual.     We seen the start of a possible backstab by HBK on Raw last week.    I even found it interesting when Cena asked him if he was fighting two men or three, HBK had said that look at history and you would have his answer.     That seems to tell me that the HBK/JBL storyline will be starting to climax soon possibly with a match between the two at Wrestlemania 25.    Another possibility though, is that Shawn Michaels wins the Royal Rumble match, stays with JBL and goes on to face John  Cena (if he is still champ).    It won't stop there, since HBK is JBL's "Employee", we could see a triple threat match between all three individuals.

Beth Phoenix:    Every year we have to have a divas match for the eye candy effect, Beth Phoenix has shown a great improvement over the last year, especially now that she is with Santino.    The two make a great team.   Now add in Milina Rouka (aka Rosa Mendez) to the mix, it should be very interesting.     I could see a possible match between Melina & Rosa Mendez at No Way Out next month, in which Melina will get screwed out of the match which will lead to Beth Phoenix vs. Melina at Wrestlemania 25 with Rosa Mendez in her corner.

Vladamir Kozlov-    Well...honestly I am not sure where I'd put this guy.    He is definitely a power house, but he hasn't truly impressed me as of yet.   With time, I'm sure something will happen.    Look for a possible match between he and Triple H at Wrestlemania 25.    My gut is telling me that Jeff Hardy will lose his title to Triple H at some point which then the match between Kozlov & Triple H would be for the title.

John Morrison & The Miz:     I love this duo, no doubt with the exception of their entrance, it was cool the first few times you seen it.   Even Jerry Lawler asking how they can do their entrance is slow motion is getting old.    Last month after Armageddon we seen Cryme Tyme taking "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan  out of the building saying "Its time".     Now WWE mobile is showing Duggan with Cryme Tyme trying to hustle money.    A match between Cryme Tyme & John Morison/The Miz is definitely a possibility.   Now that leads to Jim Duggan.

Jim Duggan:    Jim Duggan is an absolute legend in this business, he has wrestled for as long as I have been watching wrestling.    I don't think we'll see Jim Duggan on television yet, but after the Royal Rumble all bets are off.    I think "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan will get with Vinnie Mac when he returns to set up a big match for Wrestlemania 25 with Chris Jericho to get his revenge.      I only see it fitting as he is so skilled in the ring, plus Jericho can still learn a thing or two in the mean time.

Matt Hardy:     Honestly I don't see Matt Hardy as ECW Champion for much longer, that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to wear the belt.    I think he will lose the belt at No Way Out only to get a rematch at Wrestlemania 25.    Who will be his opponent?    I think new up comer Jack Swagger is the man for the job.   Swagger has shown some improvement over the last few weeks on television, and I definitely see him as a potential big superstar in the future.

Kane:   We've been seeing as of late that Kane is "reverting back" to his old style of just beating up people.   As Kane put it on Raw, "I'm going back to the days when I would eviscerate people" when he had Kelly Kelly cornered.    I think they'll set up another on air boyfriend for Kelly Kelly in which will still end up being Randy Orton, coming to aid after regretting making her cry on Raw after saying it was only a  one night stand.

That's it for this edition, check our my next edition on Friday night.

    Shawn's Thoughts: Raw 1-5-2009

Tuesday, January 6, 2009, 10:45 AM EST [General]

Welcome to another edition of Shawn's Thoughts, in this edition I'll speak on the January 5th edition of Monday Night Raw.  Lets get started.

    The opening:

So we seen another video recap of the Shawn Michaels & JBL story line.   Granted WWE is doing something different, but dang how many times can they show this.   Hopefully they won't show it as much as the Cena injury/return video from a couple months back.

Orton's promo that JBL shouldn't be # 1 contender was classic.   Over the last few months, I've seen a dramatic improvement with Orton's mic skills.    Of course that set up Stephanie McMahon to come out and play her **** role.   Same ole same old.

Goldust & Melina vs. Santino & Beth was an OK match, nothing spectacular but we did get to see the start of a feud between Melina & Rosa Perez (aka Milina Rouka from FCW).   Will be an interesting storyline, after watching Rouka on FCW television, I think the two can really put on a good match in the future.

The Intercontinental title match was decent, with a not so surprising finish but with a surprising result with Stephanie McMahon ordering a rematch with a clause that if Regal gets himself disqualified he loses the IC Championship.

We then see a back stage promo with JBL & Shawn Michaels telling him to superkick John Cena, so that Orton can then punt kick him which will cause him to forfeit his title to him.    His line  "I hired you, Mr. WrestleMania, to get me to WrestleMania as the World Champion," line was perfect especially with Shawn's reaction.

Ok we then see Dolph Ziggler introducing himself to Mickie James, yawn, that was until I seen Mickie James dang she looked hot in that outfit.

John Morrison & The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston was well boring.   It actually gave me time to post news.

Kelly Kelly vs. Jillian Hall was a typical divas match, nothing spectacular but boy I had to turn the volume down during Jillian's "When the saints go marching in".   The Kane promo at the end was good, Kane definitely knows how to creep you out.  Should be a great match next week when he takes on Randy Orton.

Cody Rhodes & Sim Snuka vs. Cryme Tyme dragged on quite a bit, I wasn't surprised by the finish, but was surprised to see that Orton kicks Snuka out of the "The Legacy".

John Cena/HBK vs. Orton & Jericho was a pretty good match, Shawn Michaels can definitely portray an emotionally and mentally conflicted individual.  He did show the start of a potential back stab on JBL tonight, but who knows when that will actually happen or even if it will happen.

The big shocker of the night was the announcement that Vince McMahon will return to Raw in two weeks to confront his daughter Stephanie on her decision about the # 1 contendership spot for the Royal Rumble.   Was definitely surprised about that seeing how Vince has been wanting to be kept off television as of late.   Makes me wonder why he decided to come back, maybe its cause the whole "Stephanie Runs the Show" deal just isn't working.

Thats it for this edition, check out my next edition later this week as I dig into more possible matches for Wrestlemania 25.
