TAKER, CENA RETAIN TITLES AS DX AND BIG SHOW, JERICHO EXPLODE
Here are the results from the 2009 Survivor Series which took place at the
Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., yesterday on pay-per-view: Both
Undertaker and John Cena came out victorious in their respective world title
matches and no title changes were registered at the show. The Undertaker
defeated Chris Jericho and The Big Show by slapping the gogoplata on the
Show for the tap out. In the WWE Championship match, John Cena hit the
Attitude Adjustment on Shawn Michaels and then pinned Triple H who seconds
before ate a super kick from his tag team partner. In both matches, the tag
teams turned on each other. In other matches from the show, Batista
completely destroyed Rey Mysterio with the home crowd support wanting even
more. The referee stopped the match after Batista hit three Batista bombs
awarding the match to the Animal with Rey unable to continue; Kofi Kingston
was the sole survivor from his team eliminating the final two members of
Team Orton - CM Punk and Orton himself - for the victory; The Miz, Drew
McIntyre and Sheamus won the match for Team Miz after John Morrison was left
all alone against the trio; Melina and team captain Mickie James won the
Divas match with Michelle McCool the last member to go from the opposing
side.
REFEREE SCOTT ARMSTRONG SUFFERS CONCUSSION
WWE referee Scott Armstrong suffered a concussion yesterday during the
traditional Survivor Series match between Team Morrison vs Team Miz. The
incident came when Sheamus accidentally hit Armstrong in the back of his
head with a knee which forced a replacement referee to take Armstrong's
place halfway through the match. The 50 year old ref has been working for
WWE since 2006 and he is the oldest son of "Bullet" Bob Armstrong.
