    news

Saturday, July 19, 2008, 11:39 PM EST [General]

this is tre giving the news of wrestling

There have been plans to merge Raw and ECW together, kinda like ECW and Smackdown are now merged together, but it seems now that these plans are postponed until 2009. WWE is promoting a Smackdown/ECW show on December 26th. The first date to start merging ECW and Raw tapings was after their Australian tour in June, but the plans keep getting pushed back more and more it seems.

WWE Superstar, The Undertaker was backstage at the Mixed Martial Arts PPV Affliction, last night. The promotion is reported to have been inviting WWE Superstars to attend their party after the event.

WWE announced, during last night's edition of Friday Night Smackdown , that Matt Hardy will be defending his United States Championship. He will face Shelton Benjamin during this Sunday's Great American Bash pay-per-view.

So according to tuttowrestling.com, the new updated card for the Great American Bash which is WWE's pay-per-view is as follows:

    WWE TITLE MATCH
    Triple H vs. Edge

    WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
    CM Punk vs. Batista

    ECW TITLE MATCH
    Mark Henry vs. Tommy Dreamer

    DIVAS TITLE MATCH
    Natalya vs. Michelle McCool

    WWE TAG TEAM TITLES MATCH
John Morrison & The Miz vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Zach Ryder & Curt Hawkins vs. Jesse & Festus

    US TITLE MATCH
    Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin

    NYC PARKING LOT BRAWL MATCH
    John Cena vs. JBL

    Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho

    Orton's Debut

Randy Orton is being advertised to appear on Sunday 31st August for the WWE Supershow at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, his billed hometown. WWE is taping that week's editions of Raw, SmackDown & ECW on that night and the tickets for the event went on sale this morning.

    WWE Divas Championship

Natalya has just posted a blog on the WWE Fan Nation site where she talks about what led her into the match versus Michelle McCool due tomorrow night during the Great American Bash pay-per-view valid for the WWE Divas Championship. Natalya in fact wrote: "I have been visualizing this match over and over in my head. My uncle Bret told me that in his match against Davey Boy Smith at Wembley Stadium, for the IC Championship, he visualized every bit of it and It helped prepared him for "battle." In this case, I can see it all unfolding and I am trying to find my focus for what I intend to be an all out war. There is no doubt, that McCool is one hell of a fighter. I am going to have to pull out all the stops if I want to walk away victorious."

    more news C3 productions

Thursday, July 17, 2008, 12:01 AM EST [General]

Jimmy Wang Yang has returned to house shows from suspension, and has been busy jobbing to Brian Kendrick.

Kendrick is apparently turning heel (not on TV yet) and has a new bodyguard billed at over 300 pounds.

In other news: The Hardyz seemed to help ECW ratings, which have been high anyway lately. Their appearances earned ECW a 1.42 Rating, which is very high because you've got to remember when ECW was managing a 1.0.

In a dark match after Raw tapings this week, Batista faced off against CM Punk. Batista got a clean win over Punk after a three count following his trademark spinebuster. This is not at all that upsetting, but fans who attended the event report that CM Punk had to lose in under 1 minute (if the timer exceeded the 1 minute it was only by mere seconds).

A correspondent from sescoops also mentions that Kane got a better pop at the event during their match than CM Punk. During the dark match, fans were also cheering for Batista rather than CM Punk. Earlier on, Batista refused to shake CM Punk's hand and gave him a spinebuster, which would make him lean towards the heelish side in this feud. Also, the taping was in Raleigh, North California, so the cheering for Batista could not be attributed to him playing in his hometown.

GhanaWeb.com has done an article on Kofi Kingston's gimmick yesterday, Kofi is from Ghana but billed as a Jamaican. It accuses writers of WWE billed Kofi as Jamaican because they think Kofi Kingston's home country, Ghana, is a nonentity (nothing of importance) and Jamaica is not.

On 31st August, there is going to be a Raw/SmackDown supershow in St. Louis, MO. Randy Orton is being advertised to appear on that show. However, it is not known if he's going to wrestle or just make an appearance. A factor that is probably pushing this appearance is that St. Louis is Orton's hometown.
