    Royal Rumble Predictions

Sunday, January 25, 2009, 10:11 AM EST [General]

6 weeks since Jeff Hardy clinced the WWE title in the closing moments of WWE Armageddon, Countless mini feuds settled on tv, WWE return to PPV with the annual 30 man over the top rope battle royal tradition known as WWE Royal Rumble.

    ECW Title Match

Champion Jack Swagger vs Matt Hardy

As good as it would be to see Matt regain the title I think it's perhaps too soon & Swagger will steal the win and build up a feud with Tommy Dreamer over the coming weeks & months.

    WWE Women's Title Match

    Champion Beth Pheonix vs Melina

I never thought I'd say I'd cheer for Beth during a match between these two as she's eclipsed my love for Melina since 'Glamarella' hooked up.

This is bound to be a great match if their previous effort at One Night Stand under I Quit rules is anything to go by and somehow I think Santino or Rosa Mendez will get involved and cost the Glamazon the title as she's had the better of Melina in recent weeks.

    WWE Title Match

    Champion Jeff Hardy vs Edge

Jeff has been booked as a weak fluke champion similar to Rey Mysterio's reign usually he would pull out the PPV win after weeks of losing the upper hand but tonight is when The Road To WrestleMania officially begins which makes me think Edge will book his spot in the WrestleMania main event perhaps with a little helping hand from a returning Christian?

    World Heavyweight Championship

Champion Shawn Michaels vs JBL w/Shawn Michaels

John Cena & the World Heavyweight Title have been overshadowed with the JBL-HBK Alliance I think the dissension between Shawn & JBL will begin tonight resulting in a Cena victory and please no more Cena vs JBL this will be PPV match #6 since WrestleMania 21 back in 2005

    30 Man Royal Rumble Match

Very rarely if ever does a heel win the Royal Rumble match itself which means I think Randy Orton will have to wait until the elimination chamber at No Way Out to book his title opportunity which would leave Triple H favourite in my opinion of those mentioned to compete it really seems like a two horse race between Orton & Triple H for the spoils

Bonkers Bet Triple H to enter #3 and win the Rumble to emulate Ric Flair's feat from 1992
