Raven's Movie, Undertaker, McCain / WWE, More

Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:22 AM GMT [General]

Raven has completed an action film entitled Sleeper that was shot in Australia. He plays the main villain of the film. You can visit the official website of the film at Sleeper-Film.com.

A few weeks ago we reported that ObamaFactCheck.com, a website that debunks and verifies rumors about Barack Obama, had Obama's appearance from WWE Raw in April as their featured video on their home page. Now their sister site McCainFactCheck.com, which verifies and debunks rumors about John McCain, has McCain's appearance on WWE Raw as their featured video on their home page.

Edge had some interesting comments on his live blog earlier from SummerSlam. He said that if he could form a tag team with any superstar, it would be The Undertaker. He also mentioned that he speaks with Christian every week and is very happy for his success. When he was asked if he thinks Shawn Michaels is going to retire, he said "hopefully".

Even though The Undertaker is back on the Smackdown roster on WWE.com, he still remains in the WWE alumni category.

Update on Jeff Hardy's "Neck" Injury WAS A FAKE !

Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:19 AM GMT [General]

It appears that Jeff Hardy has NOT suffered any kind of neck injury and apparently that was just an excuse Best Buy employees were giving fans that were expecting to see him. He was having problems with an elbow infection, however, and missed the signing because it needed to be drained. He is now fine and of course will not be missing any ring time.

Backstage Reaction To Y2J/HBK, Brooke Hogan Mugshots, More

Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:13 AM GMT [General]

The booking for the Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho segment at SummerSlam is said to have received less-than-stellar reviews from veteran wrestlers and WWE crew members. Some wrestlers were apparently shaking their heads at the fact Shawn Michaels didn't attack Jericho after Jericho hit his wife, and thought he came off as a "wimp." One side of the argument backstage is that Michaels just admitted he was too unhealthy to fight anymore so there's no way he would go after Jericho, while the other side of the argument is that some dude just punched his wife and he didn't do anything about it.

-- Brooke Hogan recently popped into the entertainment news radar again after posting some fake mugshots on her MySpace page where she's wearing makeup to make it look like she got beat up. In the pictures she's holding up signs, one saying "Thank you for letting me be myself" and the other saying "I'd rather be with my brother". The blog entry was accompanied by a message talking about the media will eat up anything, but was quickly removed after. Celeb blog Hellarious.com has the whole thing online at this link.

-- The Bleacher Report out of California has an article up saying that ECW is WWE's "secret gem," you can check it out at this link.

Rock Puts Over Angle, Mick Foley/WWE Backstage Update, More

Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:11 AM GMT [General]

BBC News out of the UK recently conducted an interview with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson talking Olympic wrestling. Johnson mentioned Kurt Angle during the interview. "I've got a good buddy named Kurt Angle who's just an outstanding wrestler," Johnson said. "Kurt won the gold medal in 1996 with a broken neck, he was unbelievable. I'm not kidding, he'd actually broken his neck and still won the gold in his weight class." He also added, "I'm always blown away by the amount of discipline and hard work it takes for those Olympians to get where they're at."

As noted earlier, Mick Foley was originally tapped to be involved in the Hell in the Cell match between Undertaker & Edge as the 10th anniversary to one of the most famous matches in the history of professional wrestling. However, he was told this past week that there was a change of plans and that his services weren't needed for SummerSlam. And it doesn't look like he's returning to his post as an announcer on SmackDown either. Internally, Foley getting beat up by Edge on SmackDown a few weeks ago now constitute his being written off of television as a character. Good luck to Foley and we'll see you soon in TNA and ROH for sure.

As reported earlier today, Jeff Hardy had a pretty bad elbow infection this past week which had to be drained backstage at Tuesday's SmackDown/ECW taping. Also, the "neck injury" was an excuse some Best Buy employees used to cover up his autograph signing no-show at the Rockford, Illinois store on Friday as a number of fans were expecting to meet him.

DailyRecord.co.uk conducted an interview with Randy Orton during his recent media tour in Europe. He visited Europe to promote SummerSlam, as well as WWE's European tour in Scotland this autumn. The article is saying that while's Orton too injured to wrestle at SummerSlam, he will be there to "cause some trouble." They wrote: "After his injury, Randy is missing out on wrestling in the pay per-view SummerSlam event, although he will be there to cause some trouble, so he is now really looking forward to the UK tour, and coming back to Scotland." Of course, the interview was conducted a few days before his apparent motorcycle accident.
