    Friday Night Excellence!

Saturday, August 8, 2009, 01:24 PM EST [General]

After watching Friday Night Smackdown last night it just simply justifies my last blog when i told everyone it was without a doubt the No1 Brand in the WWE.

Last nights episode was good apart from the Charlie Haas/Slam Master J match, everything else on the card worked superbly and the storylines continue to evolve a whole lot better that what we watch on Monday Night's.

CM Punk and Jeff Hardy kicked off the show in a great way, Punk cut a great promo completely fufilling his now fully fledged heel turn, Punk bashed the audience regarding himself being straight edge and the audience all being drinkers, smokers and criminals, this promo rocked and to top if of Jeff Hardy came to the ring to start the match but the match couldn't even get started with both men tearing each other apart, and another thing i liked was that the referees and backroom staff had to run down and break them up, we don't see enough referees and backroom staff running out to break up fights nowadays, so it was good to see it last night, it brought back an old school feel of things.

A casual Mr McMahon also surprised us with an appearance confirming that tonights World Title match their would be a special enforcer at ringside, and ill be honest with you folks i didn't think for one minute it was gonna be Matt Hardy, this show sprung a great surprise with this enforcer appointment and thats why this show is at the top of its game, whereas we are getting absolutely no shocks at all on Raw.

JTG got a huge victory over Chris Jericho, this was a really good wrestling match and hat's off to Chris for putting JTG over, it makes us realise that Cryme Tyme are in the making to be big players on Smackdown and it only makes this tag team feud more interesting and i am looking foward to the tag title match at Summerslam, this was a great shock with the outcome of this match, and i am really glad that it happened, why couldnt John Cena put The Miz over on Raw, why cant Raw do this sort of thing like Smackdown does.

The Great Khali/Kane feud for me is actually working well, in my opinion it is being built up good and a match will surely take place at Summerslam, i do think Kane deserves a better push and a better feud with another star but at the moment i am ok with this, Kane kidnapped Ranjin Singh to continue the feud and i am looking foward to see how things play out here.

John Morrison, fantastic athlete, great to watch and this superstar is definetly going places sooner rather than later, an outstanding match here with an impressive Tyson Kidd, i would like to see John Morrison put into a top main event feud soon though, he is beating a lot of midcarders, now is the time to elevate him up to a main event level storyline and i hope that happens in the near future.

We also got to see a good fatal 4 way match to see who would face Rey Mysterio at Summerslam, no surprise that Dolph got the win as for me Dolph and Rey's feud is only at an early stage, so i am happy with these two going at it again at Summerslam and i am putting my money on Mr Perfection walking out with the gold.

Smackdown here showed 3 quality matches last night and i am so flabbergasted that Vince McMahon doesnt have this sort of showing on Raw, i still say McMahon blew it big time when the draft was concluded a couple of months back.

And the main event, a great action packed contest, Matt Hardy as the enforcer was great, no emotion at all from Matt Hardy until he confronted Punk and counted his 3 count for his brother Jeff to retain, now what is in store for Matt Hardy?, is he a heel or a face? what direction is his character going, i cannot wait to see and it only makes me eager to continue to watch Friday Night Smackdown.

CM Punk took out Jeff Hardy at the end once again and Mr Long made a TLC match at Summerslam, this is a great feud and i am so sad that it looks like it will end at Summerslam, my prediction for Summerslam is that Jeff Hardy will lose the World Title to CM Punk, and at the end when Punk is celebrating his win the lights will dim and the gong will sound, confirming that The Undertaker will return to go after CM Punk!

Smackdown Still Top Of The Tree!

Tuesday, August 4, 2009, 09:55 AM EST [General]

    RAW OR SMACKDOWN!

Hey guys, i thought i would post a blog concerning Friday Night Smackdown, i wrote a blog 2 months ago claiming Smackdown the NO1 Broadcast in the WWE and 2 months on it still is without question ( if real wrestling fans don't agree i would like to know why?)

After watching last Friday's broadcast i thought the show was great from start to finish, some great wrestling, great storylines developing and certainly a better view than the one we watch every Monday evening.

John Morrison v Jeff Hardy was immense, quality fast paced wrestling that had you on the edge of your seat and to top it off after the match CM Punk then truly inforces his heel turn with a great beatdown on The World Champion, and then he announced he will take on Jeff Hardy next week in a re-match for the World Title, and that is something i am extremely looking foward too, And what does Raw have to offer tonight Triple H V Legacy 2-1(blah blah blah) complete waste of time and i have no interest in that match unless Shawn Michaels returns to save Triple H as thats the only thing that could save this contest.

Chris Jericho and Big Show also looked the part on Smackdown, they and Cryme Tyme delivered a great promo hyping up their match at Summerslam, Cryme Tyme are so over with the audience and it is now time for them to take that next step and claim the tag titles at Summerslam- this feud is very interesting and once again it is on the blue brand and not the supposed NO1 brand in the WWE Monday Night Raw.

Rey Mysterio/Finlay took on Dolph Ziggler and Mike Knox, again another good solid wrestling bout with 4 great atheletes, we see these sort of matches on Smackdown and on Raw we are having to sit through Hornswoggle v Chavo Guerrero and Brian Kendrick squashes (He is released now but they should have moved Kednrick to ECW and not Raw)

Raw for me needs to pick up it's game we need to see longer wrestling matches and less commercials if this show is going to improve, Randy Orton v John Cena at Summerslam is a repeat of Summerslam 2 years ago, again i have no interest in the WWE Title with these guys continuisly feuding.

And just to think The Undertaker has still to come back to Smackdown his re-apperance is going to make that show even stronger, but if WWE wants to build Raw up again i would suggest they switch Undertaker to the Raw brand on his return.

The celebrity host thing on Raw for me has run it's course, i want to see a wrestling legend or an ex wrestler be Raw GM, these actors and sports stars are so cheesy when they are cutting promos and it make me cringe sometimes watching them.

So to conclude, keep up the good work Friday Night Smackdown, as it is the only interesting brand in the whole of World Wrestling Entertainment.

    WWE Night Of Disappointments!

Monday, July 27, 2009, 09:00 AM EST [General]

Hey guys after watching last nights WWE PPV i have to say i was left with a sour sour taste in my mouth.

For me this event was just like an ordinary episode of Raw and Smackdown.

To begin with CM Punk losing his championship only a mere month and half after winning it, tells me once again that WWE dropped the ball with Punk as their champion, if they wanted to build this guy up to be a true main player then a longer title run had to have happened, but unfortunately for Punk it was another meaningless title reign.

Jeff Hardy who does deserve to be champion though will no doubt only hold this title for a short period of time and then i do believe he will leave the company on hiatus, so for me all you Jeff Hardy fans are in for another short title reign, which also make us aware that WWE Creative treat this belt terribly by switching it every 2 months or so.

Big Show turning out as Chris Jericho's partner was another major let down, why can't WWE shock us, why not let Christian turn or do something with Dibiase or Rhodes joining Jericho, creative lack imagination and it is getting far too predictable in the WWE nowadays, why cant creative CREATE entertainment the fans want to see.

Randy Orton retaining with the help of Legacy is what we have all been seeing constantly in the last 6 months or so, we see this every week on Raw, why do we need to see it at a PPV when the fans pay good money, why not let Orton beat Cena and Triple H cleanely and let him move on to fresher things and let Triple H and Cena feud for a while, i am happy that Orton retained, however the way it was done was just the usual nonsense.

Rey defeating Ziggler, both the womans matches were so obvious regarding their outcomes, once again no shock value.

I even thought last night  we may have seen a Shawn Michaels tease return or even an Undertaker gong to get things going for the fans but again NOTHING, no imaginatiom in the WWE and i for one is very disappointed with the way thigns are playing out.

The PG rating doesn't help either, nothing exciting happens, nothing out the ordinary like we saw at PPV'S 3-4 years ago.

I for one hope WWE's biggest event of the summer Summerslam proves much better than the dross we got last night.

    Night Of Champions Predictions

Saturday, July 25, 2009, 04:47 PM EST [General]

Hey Guys and welcome to my Night Of Champions predictions blog.

Before i start i just wanted to say that i just finished watching The Undertaker 3 disk set DVD  which was released in 2005 and it was immense, it just shows you how the PG rating that WWE provides today is nothing compared to what the WWE was like just a few short years ago, it really does sadden me with this PG rating and i just wish Vince McMahon would go back to the glory days, anyway lets get to my predictions.

The WWE Championship is on the line in a triple threat match with Randy Orton defending against Triple H and John Cena, the build up to this one has been ok nothing great but it has been watchable, now i reckon as John Cena got the pinfall on Orton last week on Raw that he will not walk out the champion, so its a 2 horse race between Triple H and Orton, now for me another HHH title run is far to early to happen so i see the Viper Orton someway sneaking out still WWE Champion, i really reckon that Triple H and Cena will come to blows in this one setting up a match between these two at Summerslam, and i reckon Orton will move on and defend his title against a returning Shawn Michaels at Summerslam.

    Winner- Randy Orton

The Intercontinental Title is up for grabs at the PPV with Rey Mysterio going against a very impressive upcoming superstar in Dolph Ziggler, the match is never going to be compared with Rey v Jericho but i do think we will see a good battle between the two, far to early for Mr Mysterio to drop the gold so Rey defeats Ziggler via pinfall and the feud will continue.

    Winner- Rey Mysterio

The US Title match is a 6 pack challenge, now i dont recall ever seeing this match since back in 1999 when Triple H pinned Steve Austin to capture the WWF Championship at Unforgiven 99, the match that time was very good and i expect  the Raw midcarders to hopefully put on a good match, Kofi Kingston for me is a great athlete and certainly deserves more time  with the title, however as we are seeing MVP and Jack Swagger feuding at the moment i see one of these men walking out with the gold and on this occasion i reckon Jack Swagger will walk out the new US Champion.

    Winner- Jack Swagger

The 2 divas matches have been builded up really well, i enjoyed Mickie James on the mic on Raw last Monday and giving the Divas more mic time is a good idea, lets build them up more, lets make these titles look serious. Mickie James for me will defeat Maryse and will become the 2nd ever diva to win both the Divas and Womans titles, and on the Smackdown side of things Melina only lost the title last month at the Bash, so Michelle McCool for me will get the win and retain her title.

Winners- Mickie James (New Divas Champion)  and Michelle McCool still your WWE Womans champion.

Now it's such a shame that Edge got injured as this tag title program he had going on with Jericho was gonna build up to something immense in my opinion, Edge was definetly set for a babyface turn in the near future but unfortunately that has to be put on hold until he returns, which is something i am really looking foward too, anyway Jericho is looking for a partner to face up against Legacy, their is all sorts of rumours going around that Jericho's partner will be none other than Ted Dibiase, remember last year at this event Cody Rhodes turned on his partner Hardcore Holly and went with Dibiase now this year Dibiase may do the same, the other rumour is that Christian could turn heel at this event and go along with Jericho, for me that would be awesome, Christian really needs a good push on Raw or Smackdown, but for me WWE will not shock us and i think Jericho will end up teaming with Vladimir Kozlov, i reckon one of these 3 opinions i have given will happen but i think it will be the Kozlov one but i hope not, anyway i do not see Jericho losing the title as he lost to Hardy cleanely on Smackdown this week so for me Jericho and his partner retain.

    Winner- Chris Jericho and ?

Tommy Dreamer is doing a good job as ECW Champion and i am looking foward to his match against Christian, and i am looking foward to the reaction the Philly crowd give Dreamer, now what makes this interesting is that in my heart i thought Christian would win but then again if Dreamer wins, Christian could then turn heel and attack Dreamer post match, turning heel and then teaming with Jericho later on in the night, so as i want to see Christian teaming with Jericho i am going for Tommy Dreamer to retain.

    Winner- Tommy Dreamer.

And finally in what i think has been a great feud and the storyline that has builded up very nicely is CM Punk defending The World title against Jeff Hardy, I am afraid all you Hardy fans are once again in for a disappointing evening as i see CM punk retaining the title, since Punk won the title he has not had a succesful title defence and they are just beginning to build his heel character up nicely so their is no way they are taking the title off Punk this early.

    Winner- CM Punk

Well guys i would love your opinion on these predictions, so leave me a comment on WWE UNIVERSE or send me an email to kierandaly1967@hotmail.com and we'll have a good ol wrestling discussion.

    WWE Ramblings!

Sunday, July 12, 2009, 01:00 PM EST [General]

Hey guys, just wanted to write a short blog on my thought's on the current WWE product.

I want to start with Dolph Ziggler, this guy has been so impressive as of late on Smackdown, he is playing the heel character fantastic, and i only see good things for him especially now with his upcoming program with Rey Mysterio.

By the way the Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio matches in the last few months have been outstanding it has been a pleasure to watch these two in the ring and anytime they compete it is something to look foward too.

I am also sensing that John Morrison will compete for The World Heavyweight title at Summerslam.

Kane is back and he is back with 2 huge wins, defeating Rey Mysterio and then Jeff Hardy this week, my only problem with Kane's return was the way he was brought back to feud with Khali, for me creative could have done so much more with Kane's return and made his return a shocking one by taking out a big name, i am also suspecting we may see a Kane/Undertaker feud again further down the line.

Sorry to hear about Edge's injury and hope he makes a speedy recovery and comes back to Smackdown with a bang, i really do believe we were in the process of seeing Edge possibly turn face and feud with Chris Jericho, thats a feud i am desperate to see again.

CM Punk is doing a great job with his heel transformation, i do not see Jeff Hardy taking his title at Night of Champions either, so i suspect that Jeff's character will be a good one to watch after this PPV as i see his character cracking up after he fails to win The World Title.

Looking foward to the return of The Undertaker which should be after Night Of Champions, hopefully he will be back to work a program in the run up to Summerslam.

You may have noticed i havent spoken about Raw in this column this is because Smackdown is without a doubt the NO1 brand in the WWE after the draft and may it continue.

I would like your thoughts on this blog, so feel free to send me a message or email me at kierandaly1967@hotmail.com
