My Wrestling Days With The British Wrestling Federation

Thursday, September 11, 2008, 09:18 AM EST [General]

Hey guys, i thought i would write a small blog to tell you a little about myself on what happened when i did wrestle part time for the now defunct B.W.F

Me and my mate who was named Kid Krazy used go about our local town promoting backyard wrestling, we used to backyard wrestle all over lanarkshire where i live, we put on matches with chairs, tables, tacs, cookie trays you name it, we even had a burning tables match which the local police tried to stop one day but to no avail the match went on and after that we started calming things down a little, i used to Wrestle with the name The Chosen One i was the main heel of our group and obviously my friend he was the main babyface, i also found it so difficult to play the 'good guy' so i always maintained i played the heel when it came to creative decisions, anyway one night the BWF came to our local civic centre for an event, Now the BWF used to be a major company in Britain, guys like Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, William Regal, Finlay, Yocozuna all worked for this company, so that night we went to the show and while we were queueing up to go in me and Kid Krazy decided to put on a hardcore match outside the building so everyone else in the queue would notice us,so whilst we we were wrestling outside the owner of the BWF Shane Palmer came out and asked us to come in the back door for a try out! we were gobsmacked at the thought of this at the time, so we got our try out in the ring and right their and then he told us we were going on their Scottish and English tour and me and my friend would work hardcore matches at all the events.

Now we wrestled all over the main part of britain and we then came back to our local town for the last show, and by this time all the newspapers were aware of it and by the publicity we got everyone from our local school and colleges attended the show and the show was sold out! so on that night to our surprise me and Krazy were booked for the MAIN EVENT! we couldnt believe it the place was buzzing and we put on one hell of match which i unfortunately lost!!!! lol, but i loved every moment of it.

We were then asked to go back a year later after the 1st tour ended but we only worked 2 shows and at one of the shows Jim The Anvil Neidhart was over working for them so i had the pleasure of being in the same locker room as this guy and he told us so many stories about the hart legacy and any time i see Natalya on screen i always say to myself i met her dad and even had the pleasure of him throwing me over the top rope in the 'royal rumble' match we had that night at the show, Jim is absolute nuts in real life, he drank 4 bottles of Smirnoff Vodka ice before he went out to compete that night lol!!!!

After that show ended i had an accident and hurt my back and i have never wrestled since but i hope maybe again one day i will go back!!!

I hope you enjoyed reading this and it just goes to show you if you fancy wrestling and you want to do it, you always may get your chance and for my sake i did, and i loved it.

    Unforgiven- Raw Thoughts

Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 12:05 PM EST [General]

Hey Guys i am back with my thoughts on last Sundays WWE Unforgiven PPV and last nights edition of Monday Night Raw- I wasnt able to get a Smackdown review over the weekend their as i was busy with other commitments but i thought the show was excellent and the build up was very strong for Sunday's Unforgiven which i will now get into.

First up i thought the ECW title scramble was done very well, i wasnt looking foward to these scramble matches but i thought they delivered very well and it was fast paced and entertaining, glad to finally see Matt Hardy win his first World Title in the ECW Championship, although Mark Henry done a nice job as champion, ECW is going to get better and better with Hardy as the champion.

Next up was the World Tag Title match between Cryme Tyme and 'Priceless', great back and forth contest, these two teams work great together and some of the high risk manouvers done in this match were a joy to watch, i was happy that 'Priceless' retained as ther tag title run has to go on much longer as it will surely build these two performers up as solid heel competitors, AFA Junior or Manu made his 1st tv appearance, too early for me comment on him as of yet but my first thoughts were that he didnt fit in to Diabese and Rhodes look or character  but things could change and ill talk about that in the Raw part of this column.

Shawn Michaels v Chris Jericho, all i can say about this one was, BRILLIANT- loved the match and the ending of it, Michaels in particular was awesome, great table bumps and Michaels elbow from the top rope onto the announcers booth was breathtaking.

WWE Title Scramble was another excellent match, Triple H winning was no suprise but as the clock ticked to the time limit i thought Jeff Hardy was our new champion and i was wanting that to happen but then right at the end the game delivered with a pedigree to MVP (Who i think is in the doghouse) and retained the title, for me Triple H v Jeff Hardy will happen surely at No Mercy and surely its only a matter of time before Jeff Hardy is at the top of the mountain.

Maryse v Michelle McCool was decent and  finally McCool gets a win under her belt, why was that her first title defence though when she won the thing 2 months ago?

Now i wrote in a previous column i sensed a Big Show- Undertaker fued and i was exactly right, it was the right time for Show to turn heel and for the heel turn to happen against the top babyface in the company was the right way to go, Show pummeled Taker and i am looking very foward to this fued and to see how the whole thing plays out between Show and Vicki(Interesting combination if you ask me) but i am loving it.

Finally The World Title Scramble, i thought the WWE Title scramble was better though, but i loved the ending here, first thing though i am very sad for CM Punk, according to reports he has done nothing wrong and it was a business thing for him to drop the title that way, at least  it will give him much needed credibility as he can always say he never lost the title, but as i saw Chris Jericho as the replacment as Chris was walking down the isle completely battered as to what HBK done to him earlier in the evening i just knew he would walk out our New World Champion, and him nicking the win when Batista thought he had done it was a great way to end the show and Y2J as World Champion is long over due and its gonna be an interesting title reign hopefully a long title reign.

Overall Unforgiven delivered, enjoyed it very much and i would give it a strong 8/10.

Onto Raw last night i thought it was a good show, The Main event was good, once again Y2J winning here makes him look like the cocky heel champion, JBL doing all the work and Jericho getting the pinfall, i am into Y2J as champion and last night on Raw i liked everything we saw with Jericho, Batista JBL and even Cade.

Rey and Evan Bourne v Miz and Morrison, Match of the night by a mile, Evan was magnificent once again and i just love watching this guy in the ring he has brough so much to ECW and Rey looked great once again, he's upped his game since returning and i am looking foward to Kane v Rey next week on Raw, Kanes promo on the titan tron with the mask worked so well for me and next week should be good.

Orton, Rhodes, Diabese, Manu- thats going to be the next 'Evolution' stable it has to be, Manu was impressive in the ring in the tag match and all the mic work done before it worked extremely well and its only a matter of time before this stable becomes active, Orton back on Raw is helping Raw so much, have to say Cryme Tyme and Kingston what have these 3 guys done to be jobbing most weeks?- Kingston was on a high only a month ago.

Charlie Haas as CHL was excellent, i know the audience are really taking to him but how long can it go on for?, at least he got a count out win!!!!

Everything else was ok on Raw but i would prefer not to go into it as it was just ok, Raw next week should be a cracker with the World Title cage match with CM Punk and Y2J and Kane v Rey Mysterio- ill try and get back with a Smackdown column on Saturday and as always if you want to comment on this blog email me at Sevillecfc@aol.com or leave a comment on fan nation.

    Smackdown Thoughts 29/8/2008

Saturday, August 30, 2008, 06:57 AM EST [General]

Hey Guys, i am back once again with my thoughts on last nights edition of Friday Night Smackdown, and i have to say the show delivered and it was very entertaining and impressive.

The Show opened up with The Undertaker, now when the show started and i heard The Undertakers 'gong' i was very shocked, The Deadman rarely ever opens up shows anymore and it was a welcome surprise to see Taker do some mic work, i like this thing thats going between him and Vicki although i would prefer if it was done a lot quicker so Taker can move on to some fresh fueds, I have absoutely no idea what Takers going to do to her, but one thing i would like to see but it will never happen is that remember back in 1999 when Undertaker abducted and kidnapped Stephanie McMahon?, i would like to see that but that Taker in 1999 was an evil heel so i doubt we will see that kind of thing happen, its gonna be interesting but hopefully it doesnt last too much longer.

Next up we get the womans tag team match with Maryse and Natalyia v Michelle McCool and Maria, was a decent match and  to see Maryse pick up the win and then dominate McCool after the match seems to me is that she is recieving a push and a future Divas Title match, I have  to be honest McCool was used better when she wasnt a champion, ever since she won the title we have hardly see her win or do anything interesting, i hope creative start using her more to make that title look more creditable.

Jeff Hardy v MVP, well what can i say.... an absolute 5 star match from these two great performers, this is whats good about Smackdown is that you are due to see 5 star matches every week because the talent is so superior to what the Raw Roster has, i loved this match from start to finish, good to see Jeff finally getting a good win under his belt after a few weeks of putting people over,i jumped off my seat when Jeff botched the whisper in the wind i honestly thought he had broken his neck but i am glad he was ok, Shelton Benjamin interfering and taking both men out after the match was good, it gave good build up to The Championship Scramble and it is also giving Benjamin much needed TV time to put him over more with the audience, after all he is carrying The U.S Title.

The Tag team match with Jesse and Festus and Hawkins and Ryder was a decent way to let Big Show come out and dismantle them and to once again make a statement, Big Show was due to work a program with Umaga, but with Umaga's injury that was put on the backburner, now this is what i see happening with Big Show.... Now Big Show is crying out for Attention, he doesnt have a match at Unforgiven and neither does The Undertaker, now i see Vicki putting Taker and Big Show in match at Unforgiven as punishment for their 'actions', i think this would work as Big Show is due a heel turn and putting him into a program with Undertaker could just do the job for that heel turn to become active.

By the way Hawkins and Ryder, they are supposed to be WWE Tag Team Champions, they are being made to look so weak with hardly any tv time and they are being squashed each week, i dont think this is working with Hawkins and Ryder as Tag Champions and i hope WWE creative give those titles to somebody else soon.

Now Victoria v B Bella was a good match, now i am not so sure whats going on here, but when Bella went under the ring and came back out was that a different Bella?, are they twins?- was interesting anyway... but poor Victoria great womans wrestler she deserves better

Onto the main event WWE Champion Triple H v US Champion Shelton Benjamin another magnificent match up, both men gave their all i was very impressed with Triple H in particular, since moving to Smackdown i would bet that is the longest match he has had with someone since switching brands, Triple H picks up the win and to make Benjamin look less weak he clobbered The Game with the US Title after the match, with makes him look very effective and to also make great build up to Unforgiven scramble match.

Now Khali coming out at the end, i want this fued between him and Triple H to end, their is no way Khali will win the WWE Title, i hope they have one more match quickly and this fued is over, i see Triple H definetly retaining the title at Unfogiven and i have a bad feeling Khali will come out at the end and make another statement setting up another match between the two, although they may make the match this friday on Smackdown.

The ending with Vicki and the lights going off in her office and the screaming was funny, i wonder what Taker has done to her? or maybe it was Big Show playing mind games, interesting stuff.

Couple of points i would like to add where was Kozlov?, i just dont think WWE know what to do with this guy if this continues you may see a release for the Big Russian coming soon, as he needs a big fued to kick off sooner rather than later.

R-Truth decent showing against Dykstra but that dancing for his entrance for me was bad... really bad, all the vignettes leading up to his debut was on a serious side about his past then he comes out dancing, just didnt make sense to me.

Also another point i have to say, Matt Hardy v John Morrison on ECW Tuesday night , their match was Amazing, both guys really do deserve to be on either one of the big 2 brands.

Overall a decent Smackdown i would give it a 7/10, and i expect more decent Smackdowns in the next few weeks to promote their debut on MyNetwork TV.

Any thoughts on this column i would like to hear from you either on fan nation or an email to sevillecfc@aol.com

    Until next time

    Raw Thoughts 25/8/2008

Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 12:46 PM EST [General]

Hey Guys, I am here once again to give you my thoughts on last nights edition of Monday Night Raw, on my last blog i thought last weeks Raw was a complete disaster but last nights was slightly better not great but decent, a whole lot better than last weeks anyway.

I thought last nights opener between Punk and JBL was good, when it started the show off i was thinking to myself, 'Oh no not these two going at it again', but they surprised me with a good fast paced contest with Punk very impressive with some high risk manouvers, the only thing thats annoying me though is that WWE Creative have not given anyone else for Punk to defeat cleanly apart from JBL, its a shame for Punk, but i think with the championship scramble coming up this will be for Punk to retain the title and look more creditable as a World Champion.

Kane's backstage promo i liked, this heel Kane is what i have wanted to see for a long time but i would like him to be more evil and do more sinister things like back in 2002/2003 when he was a complete nutcase, regarding his expected fued with Rey i just wish Rey was on television to interact with Kane or the fans may lose interest quickly, although Rey is now in the championship scramble match so things could improve with this feud and you will likely see Kane v Rey at No Mercy in October.

Now I am not John Cena's biggest fan but i was very sorry to hear what happened to him, he has a neck problem and he will require surgery, its a body blow to the WWE and for John, as this injury could rule him out for a very long time, i hope he makes a speedy recovery and my thoughts go out to him.

Now on Raw their is only 2 tag teams on the roster, Priceless and Cryme Tyme, last nights match with Priceless v The King and Duggan for me for pointless, it just shows you their is no other tag team on that roster who can take on the tag champions, i did however like the build up to the tag match that was made for Unforgiven with Cryme Tyme ripping into the champions, at Unforgiven i do not see Cryme Tyime winning, the champs will retain but i only wonder after the tag champs stop fueding with Cryme Tyme who else on the roster can they battle with over the tag championships?

Shawn Michaels and Y2J.... finally the match has been made for Unforgiven, last night once again both men's promos were superb, HBK at the moments mic skills are extraordinary and Y2J he is nearly as better, both men are the highlight of Raw for me and i can wait for Unforgiven to see these two go at it which i do believe will be a bloody brawl.

Good to finally see Primo Colon on Tv a decent performace against a funny Charlito or Charlie Haas, Haas i like this funny gimmick he has but we all know he has so much more potential and deserves better than jobbing every week.

Rey Mysterio being added to the Championship Scrambe it was so obvious it would be him, their is no one else on the Raw roster i thought of apart from Rey who would have been booked into that match, its a good move for WWE, will add more to the match at Unforgiven.

Kelly Kelly just gets hotter and hotter every week and she picked up a big win over Beth Pheonix on Raw, i didnt expect her to win but with her picking up the win it shows you WWE are definetly ready to give her that push, by the way she gave Beth a bloody nose with that kick not sure if Beth broke her nose or not , but this led to Beth taking out Santino and then later on in the show she helped Santino retain the IC Title against Kofi Kingston, these two are very enjoyable at the moment, its great comedy and i am looking foward to see what could happen next, my only down point on this issue is that the IC Title seems so weak and its a shame as that title has a great history.

Onto the main event, I am sorry but this match between Batista and Kane totally sucked, the match was slow and very painful to watch and the DQ ending, well once again i could have told you before the match started that this would happen.the two men hitting each others knees with chairs was ok at the end but surely creative could have done something better, what about CM Punk running out to help Batista and JBL getting involved, what about even Rey making an appearance, the ending was so weak and it done nothing for me to promote the championship scramble match at Unforgiven.

Overall i would give this weeks Raw a 5/10, Raw for me is no longer the flagship show, Smackdown is much better on Friday Nights, Raw now needs more star power now that Cena's is out, and i just do not see how Raw is going to improve, i hope something can be done but i dont see anything changing soon.

let me know your thoughts on this blog or email me at Sevillecfc@aol.com

Until next time, Bye for now!

    Random Thoughts WWE

Monday, August 25, 2008, 08:22 AM EST [General]

Firstly i am hoping tonights Raw broadcast gives us more than last weeks episode, last weeks show was horrible and i hope Brian Gertwitz gets it right tonight when it comes to his 'creative' writing, the only good thing going on Raw is Y2J/HBK, last weeks show opened up well with Y2J blaming HBK for his actions at Summerslam the night before, after that the show went downhill, far too many squash matches where we knew the outcome before the bell rang and the main event which was excellent, but Y2J pinning the champion in his home town just made Punk look extremely weak, why not let the champion win in his home town and let Y2J defeat some other superstar on the roster like Batista or Cena or something.

Championship Scramble at Unforgiven, sorry but once again i am not into this idea at all, its a PPV and we will only get two 20minute World Title matches, i just dont want to see this at Unforgiven, Triple H and Punk should be doing one on one matches at the moment, and i honestly do not see any title changes in either match when it comes to the 20mins ending, The only reason i see this happening is for Punk to retain and to make him look like a stronger champion, as far as Smackdowns concerned their is no way Triple H is dropping the title here.

What i am looking foward to at Unforgiven is HBK v Y2J this match is a sure cert to occur at the event, HBK is not retiring and wont be retiring anytime soon, so at Unforgiven i hope they have some sort of gimmick match and i am sure they will steal the show as these two are so good in the ring together and the storyline so far between the two has been fantastic.

Also At Unforgiven i suspect Kane will battle a returning Rey Mysterio, i liked on Raw that Kane came out to a remix of his old entrance music it brought back memories of that masked Kane from 1998, they are definetly trying to build him up as a monster heel i hope it works because Kane is better as a heel, as far as the mask being Rey's mask in the sack i was disappointed but hey this could be a good feud and i am looking to foward to see what happens.

Is it me or how good are Santino and Beth Phoenix together, very entertaining i must say!

Onto Smackdown now, what lies next for The Undertaker?, will he particapate at Unforgiven?, last week we saw The Big Show dismantle everyone in that battle royal, now i have a feeling that Big Show will be turning heel any time soon, so to get Show noticed the only thing he can do is go after The Undertaker and thats exactly what i see happening, Taker and Show have worked together a lot in years gone by and it would be refreshing to see these two go at it again- Umaga who is injured was due to fued with Show but i think that angle may be dropped now but we will just have to wait and see.

Kozlov? when is he going to finally get a angle with someone, these squash matches are happening too often now, someone please come out and challenge this guy or he is going to go stale.

Is Edge taking a well deserved break now or will he be back on Smackdown this week?, and i wonder what lies next for the rated R Superstar as him and Taker has now definetly finished.

Any thoughts on this blog i would like to hear them or you can email me at Sevillecfc@aol.com

    Until next time
