    Raw and Random Thought's

Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 09:13 AM EST [General]

Hey guys i thought i would write a short column today on Raw and some thoughts that are on my mind that i would like to go into, anyway lets get on to it.

I thought Monday Night Raw this week was a very decent show,Chris Jericho being 'fired' was very surprising and i sure as hell didnt see that one coming, however it does add spice to Mr McMahon returning next week, for me now that Jericho is supposedly 'fired' i believe McMahon will return in heel mode and re-instate Jericho to Stephanie's astonishment, i am looking foward to Vince arriving as it will bring so much more added spice to Raw which Raw is lacking at the moment.

I also believe that Mr McMahon may very well bring up his accident angle in the summer and i believe McMahon will try to get to the bottom of it and the question will be, Who done it? any ideas anyone?- if this does occur it will provide the audience with anticipation to watch Raw in their numbers week in week out to see who done it, Raw needs more angles like this to keep the audience guessing.

I have to say HBK and JBL for me wasnt working at the beginning of this feud but by god i am so happy with the angle now, HBK is working so well when it comes to his emotions and actions and JBL in their as well i dont mind as the stroyline is progessing very well, i hope however that the storyline will end before Wrestlemania though as i do not want to see HBK AND JBL go at it at WM25, as i want to see what everyone wants to see at WM25 and that is Shawn Michaels v The Undertaker.

Cena v Michales on Raw was off the charts, a terrific main event which was full of everything when it comes to both men's wrestling repotoires, i was glad to see HBK get the big win and see Cena finally lose a match since his return, it seems to be   HBK who defeats Cena when he is on a big unbeaten run most of the time.

Now i am ok with Priceless and Orton as a faction, it was pretty obvious Diabese was going to turn on Manu and Snuka last week so the question is now, will their be one more member added to the equation, if so i would like it to actually be Dustin Runnells( AKA Goldust) that guy has an abundance of talent and should be portrayed better on Raw.

So overall a decent Raw which i would give 7 out of 10

Now on a random note i want to talk about Kane, what has the WWE done to this man?, he wrestles in big matches against top names and never wins, when was the last time he won a match against a big competitor?, he is portrayed on the mic during interviews as an evil character who will beat everyone then he wrestles and he is beaten just like that!, for me this is wrong and i really want to see WWE Creative do something to make Kane's character more appealing, bring back the mask just do something that makes him better.

Please i beg WWE to remove the PG Rating, it is awful, no blood anymore in main events at PPV's, nothing spectacular, we need to see more action.

    Raw is Bore!

Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 10:47 AM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to another review of last night's live Raw show from Manchester New Hampshire!

I have to say i had high hopes for the show when Rey Mysterio kicked off the show and called out HBK and asked to face him in a match to see who would go on to wrestle in the fatal 4 way match later on in the night, when Michael's accepted i was like yes this will be one hell of a match then low and behold JBL's music hits and i knew right away that he would not allow HBK to wrestle as he decides what HBK does nowadays, and to make matters worse afterwards we see Mike Knox for the 10th time take out Rey Mysterio and then John Cena runs out to the ring to help Mysterio by taking out Knox- Knox for me will be the next Snitsky it will not work and when Cena ran out and took Knox out that for me told me that was the end of Knox he will go nowhere and it proved it later on in the night when Knox was pinned in the 10 man tag team match, which for me was a slow contest and i honestly felt like switching the tv station over that it was so poor, the only person i give thumbs up to in that 10 man tag was Kofi Kingston he is working his socks off at the moment, the rest for me didnt perform or they weren't given enough in ring time.

The Divas  Battle Royal match bombed, it was done far too quickly, Candice Michelle elimanated after 30 seconds doesnt make her any better and Katie Lea Burchill(Why is she their? the camera doesnt even go onto her it's like she isnt even their!)- anyway Melina got the win what was so obvious and afterwards Rosa Mendez helped the Glamazon when her a Melina had a **** fight- overall a pretty boring segment the only good thing was Santino's commentary.

Legacy members had 3 matches last night if one of them lost they were apparently out of the faction, Cody Rhodes beat CM Punk via countout in a short and uneventful contest, Regal outside once again with Layla is utterly annoying and it's now getting pointless- Regal took Punk out with a knee to the head and set up their IC Title match for next week on Raw, by the way their is now way Regal loses the title next week.

Manu lost to Matt Hardy in a not so bad contest, he now appears to be out of legacy and Sim Snuka who may now be on his way to better things defeated Charlie Haas!

The only thing that is interesting me with this legacy angle is what part will Ted Diabese have when he returns, i expect interesting things from him and where does Manu go from here? back to FCW?

And now onto the Main Event, a fatal four way generally means all 4 competitors are in the ring at the same time, what the hell was all this tagging in and out carry on all about?

Orton and Jericho the 2 competitors who are on fire at the moment are the first 2 elimanated, an utter outcry, so we have to sit and watch JBL and Michaels stare each other out for 5 minutes and even though Michaels kept backing away from what JBL wanted him to do it was so obvious that JBL would end up pinning Michaels anyway i dont want to even talk about it- overall a stupid angle and i have wonder what HBK actually thinks about this angle- to add spice to the angle i would honestly like Undertaker to make an appearance and try to talk sense into HBK setting up a fued between the two going into Wrestlemania 25!

So now we have JBL v Cena at the Royal Rumble a terrible decision by WWE creative and i just hope WWE get their act together in the next few weeks leading up to the Rumble.

P.S I thought last night's crowd in New Hampshire were so quiet it was like a graveyard/cemetry all evening.

    Smackdown!

Monday, December 8, 2008, 02:56 PM EST [General]

Hey Guys i thought i would write a short blog on Smackdown, i havent managed to write about the show in a few weeks because of work commitments but i have to say i am still thoroughly enjoying the now 'A' show of the WWE.

Jeff Hardy for me is still on a tremedous roll even though the WWE for me cocked up big time with the angle of having him beaten up before Survivor Series, i have to say that i do believe Edge was not responsible and that it will be revealed that Triple H done the dirty deed and i do believe this will set the stage for Triple H's expected heel turn, Hardy not being in the WWE Title match at Survivor Series bombed big time for me and taking Kozlov out the title picture is a good move, personally Kozlov for me would be better if he was on the ECW brand where he could win the ECW Title.

Triple H and Hardy on Smackdown has been excellent the rivarly is certainly heating up between the two after last weeks Smackdown, however two faces battling it out is getting tiring for me, that why's Triple H must turn heel as soon as possible.

The Rated R Superstar Edge is back! and he is once again WWE Champion, now Edge being champion is a good thing, anytime Edge holds the title your in for some good TV by WWE and with Triple H and Hardy in the title picture with Edge i do see some good wrestling and tv segments from all three coming up in the next few weeks and Vicki is back together with Edge, last summers WWE tv with Edge and Vickie was top class entertainment, let's hope for more of the same in the next few months.

Michelle McCool is turning heel a great move by WWE, i feel her reign as Diva's Champion has been poor and a heel turn could get her back on track i have to say though Maryse is improving every week she wrestles and maybe she could be next in line for the Diva's title.

I hear Gail Kim will also be joining the Smackdown brand soon!

Now Undertaker and Big Show's fued is finally over it's been ok but not great, but i have to say the match they had at Cyber Snday was excellent but the cage match last week on Smackdown was even better, a good hard hitting match from these two mammoths and Taker got the win with The Hell's Gate. now the question is where does Taker go from here?, it is rumoured Umaga will return shortly to start a program with Undertaker, Taker and Umage fueding has been in the pipeline for months so i believe that will happen and i do see a good fued here and both men will no doubt put on a good match.

Where does Big Show go from here now also?, the big man always enters a feud with a main player and he always seems to lose, it's going to be interesting to see where he goes now.

Khali as a babyface is great!

Good to see Hurricane Helms back, this guy is a great athlete and i think now is the time to push Helm's character to the point where he can start challenging for The US Title.

US Champion Shelton Benjamin for me has run it's course, he seems to get pinned every week he wrestles on Smackdown in non title match up's, it's time to take the tltle from him and give it to someone more creditible like R-Truth, MVP or even Hurricane Helms.

Well Smackdown for me still is the hot show and i am looking foward to next weeks edition.

    5 Star Raw

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 03:25 PM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to another Raw Review column, i thought last weeks show was good and i have to say last night's show was top of the charts, everything on the show worked so well for me apart from a couple of small niggles but apart from those i thought the show rocked.

The opening segment was so strong and it was so meaningful, after last week's show when Cena came through the crowd the only way to top this was for Jericho to kick off the show in the same way apart from having security escorting him to the ring and Jericho bashing the crowd, Jericho went on to do some marvellous mic work, talking about his son being a Cena fan and also bringing up the way he was 'fired' from the company a few years ago when Cena defeated him, i honestly thought WWE creative had forgotten about that angle, but the way it was brought back last night it brings so much to the angle,  Jericho also proclaimed that he will win back The World Title at Armageddon and his son will then see him as the Hero and not John Cena, a terrific segment to open the show and Jericho as always was great on the mic and if i was to vote for a superstar of the year it would be Chris Jericho.

Now i have to say i am actually enjoying Mike Knox staring out certain superstars it's going to take a lot of time for Knox to get over with the crowd but i am prepared to give the man time to see how this angle unfolds, now last night Rey Mysterio was set to face The Miz in a IC title qualifying match but Knox took out Mysterio before the Miz was even introduced and gave him a beat down, this was ok and it could bring something to this fued, the only downpoint about this segment was that Rey 'apparently' slipped and fell off the ramp tearing ligaments in his elbow, i hope for Rey's sake that this isnt serious and he wont miss any more ring time as he has been very unlucky with injuries in the last couple of years, Rey ended up facing the Miz in a really good match later on in the evening defeating him and advancing to the Semi finals to face Kofi Kingston next week, thats if he is able to compete.

I am sensing a Finlay/Hornswoggle break up, are anybody else thinking the same thing?, last night John Morrison defeated Finlay in a quick bout to advance in the IC title tournament, the look  that Finlay gave Hornswoggle after the match tells me that he is going to eventually snap and get rid of Hornswoggle, he is causing Finlay distraction and it is costing him matches, and personally i think the angle with Hornswoggle and Finlay is way past its sell by date, time for a change here with these two, does anyone agree?

I have to say John Morrison is heading for the big time he is improving week in and week out!

Melina is back! and damn she looks hotter and fitter than ever, she defeated Jillian and it looks like she is returning to the angle with Beth Pheonix before she got injured, she defeated Jillian and then afterwards she made fun of the Glamazon, Santino Marella then tried to copy Melina's entrance then hilariously failed, some good comedy again from Santino and afterwards Santino was given a massage and he thought it was Beth doing it until he turned around and it was actually Goldust, great segment here all round, full of humour and was entertaining, you may also see that fan in the crowd who keeps putting up Glamazon signs, this person is a former Diva Talent search contestant and its only a matter of time before she steps up into a fully fledged Diva and do's battle with the Glamazon.

Batista took on Dolph Ziggler on Raw, i really do believe if Ziggler had not broke the wellness policy then he could go places, last night he was defeated by Batista via the Batista Bomb, he did not disgrace himself during the match, he did get a good bit of offense on Batista so maybe if WWE can put Ziggler into a mini fued with a mid carder on Raw he may start to go places, after the match it was announced that Batista will take on Randy Orton at Armageddon, they are saying its the first time these two have met one on one but that is not true they did meet on Raw a few years ago before Batista was drafted to Smackdown and Batista picked up the win.

Kofi Kingston and CM Punk finally competed in tag action last night on Raw they defeated Cody Rhodes and Manu in a decent bout, WWE needed to give Punk and Kingston the win here to prove they are not a weak tag team, a good tag team victory here last night was a much needed boost for the tag team champions and it was also nice to see Kofi Kingston pick up the pinfall, we havent see that in a while.

In a interesting point about the tag team match was the segment afterwards where Orton once again confronted Priceless, Orton this time offered them the opportunity to prove themselves again and all 3 walked off and with the ending of Raw which i will write about later it seems the start of a brand new faction is upon us, it's something we have all suspected for weeks but it does look like it has great potential, incase anyone didnt know Ted Diabese was written out WWE programming as he is starring in a movie, should be interesting to see what his character does upon his return.

JBL last night was awesome on the mic,i loved his segment with HBK, JBL offered HBK a job to help secure his family financially during the economic downturn, HBK played the part we have seen a few times in the past, his facial reactions reminded me of previous fued's he has had this year with Ric Flair and Chris Jericho, this time HBK just walked out without giving JBL an answer, this angle is becoming very interesting as weeks have gone by and i cant wait to see what sort of reaction HBK does next week on Raw, HBK being booed out the building last night was also something we havent saw in a while and he didnt give JBL some sweet chin music  that the hot crowd in Washington wanted so badly , overall a very good segment and thumbs up to JBL for some great mic work.

Now once again Kane was made out to look like a complete retard last night, his backstage promo with Jericho gave you the impression that Kane means business but once again WWE Creative have let him down so badly, he dominates John Cena throughout the whole match then Cena suddenly hits the FU and Kane is pinned 1,2,3,, last night after that match Kane for me looks extremely weak and i think it's a shame as Kane deserves better for his loyality to the company.

Post match was excellent, Jericho interfering in Cena's match only brings more to this heated rivalry which is very enjoyable at the moment, Cena appears to be getting the upper hand on Jericho then Orton and Priceless run out and take Cena out along with Jericho, Orton's DDT to Cena on the contrete was a great spot it looked so real but i bet their was a cushion or something underneath that spot where Cena'a head hit but it was a great spot, Chris Jericho then locked in the Walls of Jericho on Cena as the show went off the air, last night's Walls of Jericho was the real Walls of Jericho not that rip of Boston **** that happens during his in ring matches, i would like to see the Walls of Jericho performed like that all the time in Jericho matches like in his WCW and early WWE Days.

Overall an excellent way to end the show, Priceless/Orton faction looks ready to take off, Jericho ans Cena's rivalry is working so well, Batista and Orton's match was made for Armageddon and JBL and HBK'S confrontation was excellent.

Overall a very strong Raw which i would give a solid 8.5 out of 10 and i am looking foward to next weeks 3 hour Raw Slammy spectacular.

    Late Raw Thought's

Thursday, November 27, 2008, 09:16 AM EST [General]

Hey Guys i am sorry i have not had much time this week to write about Raw, i would like to say though that i thought this weeks show was very entertaining and i enjoyed it, the opening with Shane and Stephanie disagreeing with each other was off the charts it reminded me of days gone by when the McMahons were all fueding together, this angle we have on Raw with the two can only lead to better things, i believe we will see Vince McMahon show up soon to show them who's boss, Stephanie also has the heel character here to provide good television and possible screw jobs, where as Shane is the face in all this- it is just good entertaining TV and i cant wait to see what happens next.

Over the last few months the IC Title has been slaughtered with management with the New DVD now out on it's history the company are  giving the title good value, i enjoyed all the IC Title tournament matches, Kane taking out Kingston with the steel steps was good, i want to see more anger from Kane as his character can definetly go places if creative give him the right things to do, CM Punk beat Snitsky in a decent contest to advance, and i am liking the confrontations betweek Punk and our NEW IC Champ REGAL, the IC Division is looking stronger and Miz v Rey Mysterio should be a good one next week on Raw.

JBL last week on Raw surprised all of us when he took out Morrison instead of HBK, i wonder what this offer is? it definetly brings something new to the fued and i am looking foward to the next installment between these too.

Chris Jericho won the triple threat match to advance to Armageddon to face Cena for The World Title, i still have a feeling this match may change and Batista will be added but who knows?- Jericho winning on Monday made him look good again after losing to Cena on Sunday, overall a very good match and a segment that was booked nicely for Jericho to continue his roll as the best heel on Raw.

Finally i would like to say i didnt mind Cena taking out Jericho to end the show, but the mic work that Cena was given was horrible, i just didnt like it, for me it was for all younger WWE fans and all older fans wouldnt have taken to it,thats just my opinion- but the beating he gave Jericho was good and it continues this fued from Survivor Series.

Overall a decent Raw i would give 7.5 out of 10, as always i would like your thoughts on this column either Via WWE Universe or send me an email to Sevillecfc@aol.com
