    Breaking Point Predictions

Sunday, September 13, 2009, 03:16 PM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to my Breaking Point predictions, i wasn't able to get any blogs out last week as i had PC problems, but i would just like to say i though Bob Barker did a great job on Raw and Raw delivered last week and i really enjoyed the show, Smackdown was also a decent broadcast but i think Raw just shaded it as being the better show last week, anyway lets get onto my predictions for tonights PPV airing from Montreal Quebec Canada.

I am going to start off with the WWE Championship I Quit match between Randy Orton and John Cena, for me this feud could have been built up better so hopefully after tonight this feud will come to it's conclusion, their is no way John Cena will lose to Randy Orton on 2 consecutive PPV's, so tonight John Cena will capture his 6th World Title and make Randy Orton say 'I Quit'

    Winner- John Cena

DX have been a blast on Raw in recent weeks, and both HHH and HBK have been very entertaining, DX v Legacy at Summerslam was a great match and i think it may be difficult for them to repeat their great bout at Summerslam tonight, i see DX defeating Legacy again tonight and tonight with Orton losing the title and Legacy also on the losing side, i see the break up of Orton and Legacy on the horizon after this PPV.

    Winners- DX

It is so great to see the tag titles being made very important now by WWE Creative and Chris Jericho who in my opinion is the best heel in the business today is doing a great job with Big Show as a team, tonight at the PPV i see Big Show and Jericho once again retaining their titles against MVP and Mark Henry, and moving on to feud with DX over the winter with the DX duo being the ones to eventually take their titles.

    Winners- Jericho and Big Show

Kofi Kingston v The Miz has been added to the show tonight, these two seem to put on good solid matches and i expect no less this evening, the US title in recent weeks has really been the main point of WWE Superstars instead of it being used on Raw, Kofi for me has had a very good title reign but i see his reign coming to an end this evening and Mr Awesome himself The Miz will collect his first singles title.

    Winner- The Miz

The Great Khali and Kane go head to head again tonight, this feud on Smackdown for me has been very good and i have no problem with it, this match tonight will be a hard hitting affair with some brutal singapore cane shots, tonight i am going to go for Kane getting the victory as he lost last month at Summerslam, and at the back of my mind i see Ranjin Singh turning on Khali and align himself with Kane.

    Winner- Kane

And finally the World Heavyweight Title match between CM Punk and The Undertaker, this feud is building up nicely on Smackdown and i expect this feud to continue into the next couple of PPV's, their is no way that Undertaker will submit, but i see someone possibly doing a run in during this match and completely knocking Undertaker out, CM Punk locks in the anaconda vice and Taker is motionless and the referee stops the match, for me we may see Kane running in tonight and possibly costing his brother the World Title.

    Winner- CM Punk

I wish Morrison and Ziggler was on this PPV as its disappointing the IC title will not be defended at this event, but who knows maybe Teddy Long will make an impact and make the match during the PPV.

Well that is my predictions for the show, as always i would like your thoughts.

    RAW- A SHOCK DREAM!

Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 11:53 AM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to my Raw review, last night was the 849th episode of WWE Raw and it aired live from Detroit MI, and i have to say i actually liked the show once again as i thought we got  decent shock value at the end and we also got some good wrestling matches last night, anyways lets have a run down on last nights edition.

I enjoyed the opening with the special guest host the one and only American Dream Dusty Rhodes, Dusty received a great reception from the crowd and he cut his promo very well, i was actually intrigued with his announcment that his son Cody Rhodes would take on Randy Orton for the WWE Title with John Cena as the special referee, i for one was very much looking foward to this match as i thought we could see a surprising upset, so in all fairness i definetly didnt see what we saw at the end of the show coming, good opening segment that got the fans and viewers interested in the main event of the show.

I was delighted to see the WWE Divas being given good amounts of in ring time last night, the diva battle royal was good i enjoyed Gail Kim's and Jillian Hall's contributions to the match, however this battle royal was for one thing and one thing only and it was to get Beth Phoenix who has been used very sparingly by creative recently the chance to build up her Glamazon character and to get the fans into her again and for me it worked, she went on to win the battle royal and go on to have a very good divas title match with Mickie James later on in the show, Mickie obviously got the win but for me this was a segment to get Beth Phoenix going again and i have no problem with that.

Chris Jericho defeated MVP in a very good match up last night, these two for me clicked so well in their match and i only wished we could have seen these two go at it a little longer as i believe that would also have the makings of a good one on one feud, however they are on seperate shows so it wont happen anytime soon, Jericho got the pin and i am glad that happened as Jericho i dont think has won a one on one match for a month or so, so it was good to let him get the clean victory.

Once again i loved the DX comedy/plugging sketches backstage last night, the plugging of the Rise and fall of WCW dvd and the new DX Dvd for me just rocked, the sketches are so corny but hilarious and HBK and Triple H for me are doing a great job here and are bringing so much to Raw and i have actually missed DX so i am so happy they are back, i am just wondering what the plans for DX will be at Breaking Point though?, something tells me the only route WWE can go down is a return match with Legacy, but we will see.

Mark Henry and Big Show was ok nothing special but they tried their best, nothing much else i can really say about this apart from it continued the feud over the unified tag titles, its great to finally see the tag titles being made important every month now, these are respected titles and they are finally being shown the respect they deserve.

Now i have to say i am absolutely disguested at the way WWE management are treating Chavo Guerrero, for the last 7 or 8 shows we have see this superstar who comes from a proud wrestling family job to Hornswoggle, for me it is a disgrace and Chavo deserves better, he is a talented individual who is being used terribly, i really do hope he can move on from this Hornswoggle nonsense and go on and have a good feud with Evan Bourne, it is pretty obvious that Chavo will job to Bourne also but i really do believe creative should help Chavo out, i would receommend Chavo do a worked shoot interview telling everyone he is sick and tired about the way he is being used, i would love to see that.

A fantastic fatal 4 way match for the US Title last night, its good to see Kofi Kingston getting a good win under his belt to continue his strong reign as US Champion, i enjoy all 4 guys who were in this match and its good to see the US Title getting good publicity, i hope they go down the route at Breaking Point and have another 4 way at the PPV, i also believe Kofi's reign will come to an end at the PPV with either Jack Swagger or The Miz becoming the new champion.

Now onto the main event i was looking foward to it all night, but i looked at my clock and it was 3.58am here in the UK before all the competitors were in the ring, so i said to myself Raw generally goes of at 4.04 am so if we are going to see a match its gonna be a quick one lol, but as the clock was ticking i was still expecting a match and then i was shocked when Dusty Rhodes turned heel for a few minutes, he helped his son and the rest of Legacy take out John Cena, i did not see that happening at all, DX then made the save but the American Dream then took out the game with his cowboy boot and HBK received the crossroads, overall a tremedous and shocking segment, and the end made great sense as well, Orton turned on Dusty Rhodes and he hit him with an RKO, the look on Cody's face was, wot do i do?, do i hit Orton? do i leave my Dad lying their?, their is so much questions to be answered here as to where this is going with Legacy and Orton, with the face reactions Cody Rhodes received last night and with the upcoming face turn of Ted Dibiase to promote his new movie, i see a Legacy face turn on the way and the possible conclusion of them helping John Cena make Randy Orton tap out at WWE Breaking Point.

Overall i thought Raw delivered very strongly last night and i would give it a good 7.5/10, i enjoyed the show.

As always i would like your thoughts on this blog.

    Friday Night Delight!

Saturday, August 29, 2009, 11:40 AM EST [General]

Hey guys, i am glad to say that i am now back and my columns will now be continuing after every show, i had a great vacation in Spain and now it's back to the old life of working and watching professional wrestling!

Well before i get into my random thought's i have say i was absolutely delighted with WWE Summerslam, all superstars worked their socks off and produced fantastic wrestling matches, i was particularly impressed with DX v Legacy i thought the match worked perfectly with some great spots and i was delighted with it, Ziggler v Mysterio was also impressive kudos to those 2 superstars and the main event was great with CM Punk winning back the World Title and it was also great and surprising to see the return of The Undertaker at the end, overall a fantastic show by WWE.

Now as you know i havent really been favouring Monday Night Raw since the draft but last weeks show for me was a solid entertaining show, DX back on Raw for me is bringing so much to the show and it's great to have them back, their comedy segments and inring wrestling have been fantastic to watch thus far and i cant wait to see what happens next, i havent been much of a fan with the celebrity guest stuff but i have to say i was very impressed with the performances of Freddie Prinze JR and Floyd Mayweather over the past couple of weeks, i hope Raw can continue it's decent roll and i am also glad Randy Orton is still WWE Champion but it's so obvious that at the next PPV Breaking Point John Cena will make Randy Orton tap to the STF and win the WWE Title.

Now onto Friday Night Smackdown, last night's show was once again off the charts, what a fantastic opening segment with CM Punk and Jeff Hardy, CM Punk as a heel is working to perfection this straightedge gimmick is terrific and every week he is being booed louder and louder which means it is working to perfection, i like how the cage match main event stipulation was made, even though we knew Jeff was leaving it still made Smackdown's main event feel like watching a PPV.

I was very surprised that while i was on holiday it seemed Matt Hardy is back to being a face, it seems WWE didnt think it was working with Matt as a heel, or will that be the case?, well my view is that Matt Hardy will eventually turn on John Morrison setting up a quality mid card feud, i thought last nights tag match between the impressive Hart Dynasty and Morrison/Hardy was good a little quick but once again Morrison prevailed with a stunning performance, my only downfall on this match was while i was watching Matt Hardy it seems to me he looks a good bit overweight, it was as if he had a beer belly and he has certainly put on the pounds, i hope Matt can address that situation if he is to be a main player on Smackdown.

Kane v Rey Mysterio was another hot match, these two have great chemistry together and even though we have seen them wrestle a lot in recent months i for one is not sick of it as they always put on solid matches, Ziggler took out Mysterio post match to continue their feud and i like the intesity of Ziggler he is becoming an awesome talent and i really think at WWE Breaking Point he will begin his run as IC Champion, Khali taking out Kane with the kendo stick was also enjoyable, this feud i am enjoying also and i have no problem with it continuing.

It's great to see Michelle McCool getting more mic time to get her heel character over more, i am enjoying her mic time and commentary and her and Melina's feud is working perfectly, these two delicious divas also give us good matches and i am looking foward to this return match for the womans title hopefully at Breaking Point.

Now what i didnt like last night was seeing Jericho and Big Show defeating Cryme Tyme again, before Summerslam Cryme Tyme were on a huge roll and i really thought we would finally see them as tag champions, but once again creative are making them look extremely weak losing twice in a week to the champions, i really do not see where Cryme Tyme will go now, i just hope they may be added to the tag title match at Breaking Point to give them more time in the spotlight as i have said time and time again they are extremely over with the audience.

Now onto the main event, a fantastic cage match which saw CM Punk defeat Jeff Hardy to retain the world title, this was a PPV quality cage match and i congratulate both men for working their socks off at Summerslam and 2 nights later at the Smackdown taping, it sad to see this feud ending as it has been perfect from start to finish.

Jeff Hardy then made an emotional speech to the fans post match, stating that it's goodbye for now but not forever and CM Punk taking out Hardy with the title when he was exiting it only tells all Jeff Hardy fans that he will be back sooner rather than later, maybe in a year or so i reckon, this also made CM Punk's heel reign very strong.

I have to say with Jeff Hardy gone it is going to be a huge loss to Friday Night Smackdown, i only hope we can continue to see excellent shows in his absence, The Undertaker returning next week will surely boost the show and continue it's reign at the NO1 brand in the WWE.

CM Punk v The Undertaker at Breaking Point, i am looking foward to see these two go at it for the first time and this feud will surely set Smackdown alight once again.

All the best to Jeff Hardy, i hope he enjoys his break away from the business and i hope to see him back again in a WWE ring in the near future.

As always i would like your thoughts on this blog.

Raw! A mixed bag of GOOD and BAD!

Tuesday, August 11, 2009, 01:03 PM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to my latest blog concerning last night's 846th broadcast of Monday Night Raw, LIVE from Calgary Alberta, Canada.

Before the show began we knew Sargeant Slaughter would be special guest host and i was slightly concerned with this appointment especially with the show being in Canada, i do have  great respect for the Sarge but for me he doesn't draw as well as the rest of the WWE Hall of Famers and from last night's showing i would say that was the worst special guest host we have witnessed since this whole guest host thing started, he wasn't even used in the ring he kept coming onto the stage all night downfalling the canadians and teasing them to a Bret Hart return and Jillian Hall even doing a sing song, none of these segments worked for me and it was a complete waste of time, their is a PPV called Summerslam coming up, apparently this is the WWE's 2nd biggest event on their calendar, they could have builded up feuds instead of us having to witness these Salughter segments.

I have to say the diva's fatal 4 way match was terrific, all 4 diva's impressed me very much and it's good to see them getting a good amount of ring time, it looks like Vince is hopefully deciding to give the diva's more time on Raw and i am very glad, Gail Kim picked up the deserved win and she earned it with her performance last night, my only concern here was, why wasn't the Divas champion on the broadcast, all your brands champions should be on the show and i was very annoyed that Mickie James worked a dark match before the show and that she wasn't on the live telecast.

Jack Swagger and MVP is working very well for me, i like these two guys in ring styles and i am looking foward to these two hopefully not going at it next week but to book them on the Summerslam PPV card, these two guys are talented individuals and they deserve a match on the PPV where it will be given a lot of time, i would also like to point out that Swagger v Bourne last night was good and so was MVP getting a good victory over Chris Masters.

Now i despise what we are seeing with Mark Henry and Hornswoggle, it's time the little fella was put back over to ECW he shouldn't be on the supposed no1 Brand in WWE, Mark Henry came over and was getting decent reactions when he pinned Orton and destroyed Jericho and then all of a sudden he is placed with Hornswoggle, complete joke of a booking by RAW creative and i am only glad that Legacy picked up the win last night.

Now i have say i loved the DX segments, great humour and fun entertainment by HBK and HHH, i like to see HHH's side when he is fun and entertaining and this certainly refreshed his character last night, Legacy go head to head with a returning DX at Summerslam and i am very much ok with this i am just a little concerned as to where do HBK and HHH go after Summerslam though.

It just shows you how much Raw is lacking when they need to use Smackdown superstar Chris Jericho in their main event against John Cena, was a decent match with a disqualifcation outcome , afterwards Orton and Cena took out Show and Jericho, and now a tag match is set for next week between Orton/Cena and Show and Jericho.

What was the point in creating the Miz angle last week only for him to win back his spot this week, these Raw writers are really needing a good kick up the backside, complete and utter pointless storytelling.

Well we saw some good matches on Raw last night, but still overall the show needs more shocks and bigger stars.

I would give last nights show a 6.5/10, as always i would like your comments on this blog.

    Friday Night Excellence!

Saturday, August 8, 2009, 01:24 PM EST [General]

After watching Friday Night Smackdown last night it just simply justifies my last blog when i told everyone it was without a doubt the No1 Brand in the WWE.

Last nights episode was good apart from the Charlie Haas/Slam Master J match, everything else on the card worked superbly and the storylines continue to evolve a whole lot better that what we watch on Monday Night's.

CM Punk and Jeff Hardy kicked off the show in a great way, Punk cut a great promo completely fufilling his now fully fledged heel turn, Punk bashed the audience regarding himself being straight edge and the audience all being drinkers, smokers and criminals, this promo rocked and to top if of Jeff Hardy came to the ring to start the match but the match couldn't even get started with both men tearing each other apart, and another thing i liked was that the referees and backroom staff had to run down and break them up, we don't see enough referees and backroom staff running out to break up fights nowadays, so it was good to see it last night, it brought back an old school feel of things.

A casual Mr McMahon also surprised us with an appearance confirming that tonights World Title match their would be a special enforcer at ringside, and ill be honest with you folks i didn't think for one minute it was gonna be Matt Hardy, this show sprung a great surprise with this enforcer appointment and thats why this show is at the top of its game, whereas we are getting absolutely no shocks at all on Raw.

JTG got a huge victory over Chris Jericho, this was a really good wrestling match and hat's off to Chris for putting JTG over, it makes us realise that Cryme Tyme are in the making to be big players on Smackdown and it only makes this tag team feud more interesting and i am looking foward to the tag title match at Summerslam, this was a great shock with the outcome of this match, and i am really glad that it happened, why couldnt John Cena put The Miz over on Raw, why cant Raw do this sort of thing like Smackdown does.

The Great Khali/Kane feud for me is actually working well, in my opinion it is being built up good and a match will surely take place at Summerslam, i do think Kane deserves a better push and a better feud with another star but at the moment i am ok with this, Kane kidnapped Ranjin Singh to continue the feud and i am looking foward to see how things play out here.

John Morrison, fantastic athlete, great to watch and this superstar is definetly going places sooner rather than later, an outstanding match here with an impressive Tyson Kidd, i would like to see John Morrison put into a top main event feud soon though, he is beating a lot of midcarders, now is the time to elevate him up to a main event level storyline and i hope that happens in the near future.

We also got to see a good fatal 4 way match to see who would face Rey Mysterio at Summerslam, no surprise that Dolph got the win as for me Dolph and Rey's feud is only at an early stage, so i am happy with these two going at it again at Summerslam and i am putting my money on Mr Perfection walking out with the gold.

Smackdown here showed 3 quality matches last night and i am so flabbergasted that Vince McMahon doesnt have this sort of showing on Raw, i still say McMahon blew it big time when the draft was concluded a couple of months back.

And the main event, a great action packed contest, Matt Hardy as the enforcer was great, no emotion at all from Matt Hardy until he confronted Punk and counted his 3 count for his brother Jeff to retain, now what is in store for Matt Hardy?, is he a heel or a face? what direction is his character going, i cannot wait to see and it only makes me eager to continue to watch Friday Night Smackdown.

CM Punk took out Jeff Hardy at the end once again and Mr Long made a TLC match at Summerslam, this is a great feud and i am so sad that it looks like it will end at Summerslam, my prediction for Summerslam is that Jeff Hardy will lose the World Title to CM Punk, and at the end when Punk is celebrating his win the lights will dim and the gong will sound, confirming that The Undertaker will return to go after CM Punk!
