    My Short Wrestling Career.

Monday, October 19, 2009, 04:42 PM EST [General]

    Hey Guys

I thought i would write to tell you a little about myself and how i go into watching and even doing some professional wrestling.

My real name is Kieran Daly and i am 24 years old, i started watching WWF/E when i was 5 or 6, one day i was in my local shop and i saw a blue WWF sticker book, for some reason i asked my Mum to get me it then everyday i kept going back into the shop and demanding wrestling stickers for my book, at that time i didnt have a clue who these guys were but i was just glued to it, a few years later i started seeing these guys i was collecting stickers about in my local shops and they were wrestling figures, so i got my mum and dad to start getting me these, my first figure was Ultimate Warrior as he was without a doubt my favourite of all time until i started following the man i have so much respect for The Undertaker, i used to even paint my face like the Warrior all the time when i was little and i even dressed up as The Undertaker one Hallo'ween'

The WWF then got a deal with SKY TV this is the channel us in the UK watch WWE  every week on, so at the time i wanted  SKY tv fitted in so i could watch wrestling, the first PPV i watched live was Summerslam 92 it was actually on at 2pm in the afternoon UK time as it was filmed at Wembley Stadium in England, Bret Hart v British Bull Dog main evented the show for the Intercontinental title, and what a match that was, one of the greatest of all time i would say.

As the years progressed i watched every PPV live, they used to be on at 12 midnight UK time but roughly about 1998 they started airing at 1am, so as you would probably imagine i was always very tired at School on a monday and i am still very tired at work on a Monday also lol, but i never dared miss a PPV, well i must admit we here in the UK used to get every PPV that aired in the states for free until i think 2005, now we Pay for 7 PPVS a year and we get No Way Out, Backlash, Extreme Rules, The Bash, Unforgiven, and Bragging Rights FOR FREE, so i cant complain.

When i was 18 me and my friend started doing backyard wrestling in our local town and we ended up getting crowds watching us perform, my wrestling name was The Chosen One, i chose that name actually before Jeff Jarrett had it in WCW so i was gonna sue him for copyright infringment lol, so me and friend put on hardcore matches and we even had a burning tables match one day that the local cops tried to stop but they arrived as soon as my opponent was put through the burning table, after that match we decided to stop backyard.

One evening The BWF (British Wrestling Federation) came to our town to do a show in our local centre, so whilst we were queing to go in me and my friend started wrestling, and the crowds in the queue were actually enjoying it, so as me and my friend had finished 2 security guards came over to us, now at the time we thought we were in trouble but they came to us and told us the promoters inside wanted us to go into the building and do a quick match in the ring before the crowds came in, me and my friend were shocked surprised and completely delighted, so we got in had a trial match and believe it or not the two promoters signed us to a contract and the next thing we know we are touring the UK with this company.

Now on this tour me and my friend had the pleasure of working with Jim The Anvil Neidhart who was working with the company, backstage before we went out The Anvil was giving me and my friend who i was wrestling that night tips and great knoweldge about the sport and i will always be thankful for The Anvil for  helping us, it was a surreal experience.

I always played the heel, i never liked being a face cause i always knew i played heel very well and i am not boasting here but i could get the crowds to hate me, so i was happy with what i achieved, after a year or so i hurt my back in a non wrestling accident and i had to stop doing it, i was completely gutted, but i am always thankful for the opportunities i had in this business, and i will always be a fan to the day i die, no question.

    PEACE OUT

    RAW- No Strength In Depth

Tuesday, October 13, 2009, 08:30 AM EST [General]

    Hey Guys

And welcome to another one of my blogs, last night was the 855th episode of WWE RAW Live from Indianapolis Indiana, i thought last weeks Raw with Big Ben was a good show, last night had some good parts but overall i thought the show could have been better, let me get down to the points.

The opening with Chris Jericho announcing he would team captain Smackdown at Bragging Rights was good, this opening gave Nancy O'Dell the opportunity to get the fans behind her, with her announcing DX were up next, and it worked as i thought she done a steady job, nothing great but steady.

The opening with Triple H i have to say was ok, for me it was long and more time could have been given to another match on the card, Triple H on the phone to HBK was ok, but i just couldnt get into it as an adult fan, once again this segment was solely based on PG for children, anyway this led to Jeri/Show coming out to confront HHH, it then led to Jeri/Show having a confrontation slating each other about past failures, it was then announced that Show would face Jericho and if Show wins he competes with Team Raw at Bragging Rights, overall an ok segment but nothing great.

Jericho v Big Show was up next, the match was slow and all we got was a couple of slaps from Big Show and a count out win for Show, nothing great here and i expect to see these guys get back on the same page shortly, i even predict that Team Smackdown will defeat Team Raw at Bragging Rights when the Big Show turns on DX at the end and Chris Jericho will pick up the win for Smackdown.

Next up was Mickie James defending against Jillian, at first i was shocked when Jillian was her opponent, but i see why they went this way as what occurred at the conclusion of the match made sense when Jillian defeated Mickie James to win the title, Melina then re-debuted on Raw and took on Jillian and won the belt, i was really ok about this, it makes sense, Melina for me should be on Raw anyway and i am happy that some Divas have been traded, funnilly enough i said on my last blog that Mickie James or Beth Pheonix would move to Smackdown sooner rather than later, overall very happy with the way the Divas Division was portrayed last night.

Poor OL MVP, what has this guy done wrong?, is he once again in the doghouse?, c'mon this guy is a great talent and deserves better, he was basically squashed by Jack Swagger last night in a quick match, Now i am all for Swaggers push, but MVP should not have been the man to do the job last night, MVP just looks stale and for me creative dont have any idea what to do with him, poor segment in my eyes and poor booking.

Kofi Kingston v Evan Bourne, we all know that these 2 can put on, one hell of match, but once again last night they didnt get enough time, another quick match that saw Evan Bourne LOSE again, this guy should have been kept on ECW to continue his push, the only guy on the Raw roster that Bourne has a chance of beating one on one is Chavo Guerrerro, Kofi qualified for Bragging Rights, but one has to wonder where does Bourne go from here?

HHH with Hornswoggle backstage, just completely bombed, i hated it, 10 years ago DX would have made a mockery of Hornswoggle and done something out right nasty to him, DX dont belong in a PG WWE, get Hornswoggle off Raw as well, he doesnt belong their, by the way i sometimes like what DX gives us dont get me wrong but some segments are just plain idiotic in this PG era.

The Divas tag match was just a way to plug that Maria ' i cant pronounce her second name' movie, so i dont really want to discuss that.

Now lets get to why i named this column, Raw- No Strength In Depth

Last night we were given a Triple threat match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase, now this match was ok but apart from Legacy sometimes attempting to break up either ones pinfalls, for me this was just a 2 on 1 match, Cody got the victory when he rolled up partner Ted and he qualifies for Bragging Rights, i really liked this ending and i like the way Legacy are being pushed, a really good team and two talented guys who will go places mark my words.

Now we then got O'Dell making a tag team match later in the evening between Legacy and John Cena and Orton, Michael Cole sold Cena's and Orton's partnership big time, but didnt they just tag up in a match on Raw about 4-5 weeks ago?, c'mon WWE we are not that thick.

Now the main event was just the same as the triple threat match that we got, it was basically the same match WWE gave us last night, Orton got in the ring for about 2 seconds then it was back to the same match we got earlier in the evening, dont get me wrong i liked Ted pinning Randy to continue this Legacy momentum and possible face turns for the group, but RAW LACKS STRENGTH IN DEPTH, they are having to get wrestlers to work 2 matches a show, they even have to have Smackdowns Chris Jericho on this show every week to save it, their is not enough superstars on this brand and if WWE want to make this their best show they must improve the roster.

Well as you can see guys i wasnt very favourable to this Raw broadcast, i would say the show was ok and give it a 6.5/10, i am really looking foward to Snoop Dogg next week as guest host and Cena v Triple H should be decent, as always guys i would like your thoughts on this column.

    Smackdown Has The BRAGGING RIGHTS!

Sunday, October 11, 2009, 10:40 AM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to my blog, on a week where the WWE produced 3 solid entertaining shows that definetly delivered to the full.

I said on my last blog that Raw was a great show and even ECW gave us some solid wrestling and good entertainment, but once again i have to say the 'A' show once again topped my list this week and that was Friday Night Smackdown.

You look at the roster on Smackdown and you'll see a list of great characters and gimmicks and all round good wrestlers and you think about the Raw roster and all i can think of is stale, now dont get me wrong Raw has good characters at times and decent wrestlers but Smackdown by far is better all round than Raw, the characters on Smackdown are more interesting to watch than Raw, plus we get better storylines on Smackdown and overall better wrestling matches, now i know i may get a few comments saying Raw is better, but look c'mon guys you can see from miles that Smackdown is better than Raw.

Last weeks edition of Smackdown gave us 3 main events, now you dont see that on Raw, we had the best heel perfomer in Wrestling today Chris Jericho taking on Rey Mysterio in a good match, we had a very impressive Intercontinental Champion John Morrison defeating another great talent in Dolph Ziggler, and even though Batista is a bit stale to watch he and CM Punk battled on Smackdown, again another good main event.

The Undertakers promo was also excellent on Smackdown, ive been wanting to see the new 7 time World Champion move to Raw for years, but for now i am very happy he is a Smackdown superstar and i sincerley hope it stays that way after next years draft, Taker's promo was very different from what we are used to hearing from him, he spoke more loudly and he spoke about how much the World Title means to him, and he even mentioned his 'Yard' NOW for me that promo he cut sounded more like the American Badass than it did the soft spoken Dead Man.

Eve and Michelle McCool gave us a good womans match as well, the divas on Smackdown for me get more wrestling time which is always good, i would like to see the divas get more ring time on Raw but they do not, so again watching Smackdown for me means good womans wrestling compared to Raw, however Mickie James and Beth Phoenix are good athletes, a move to Smackdown should happen for either one of them at the next draft.

On Raw we see mid card talents like MVP,Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger, now i like MVP but his move to Raw has been a poor one, he is stuck in the mid card and seems to be going nowhere, unless Mark Henry turns on him and those two start a feud which i think will happen, all these guys i mention here seem to feud constantly with the same superstar every few months or so and its stale, whereas on Smackdown we have Kane, Matt Hardy, Finlay, my fellow scot Drew 'McIntyre' Galloway, R-Truth, their is some really tasty potential feuds with all of these Smackdown superstars but on the Raw side of things i dont see anything interesting.

And to think Smackdown has The Rated R Superstar to return to its brand, Smackdown has things to look foward to, but i dont see anything on Raw.

So to close, I would like to say as you probably have guessed by now that Smackdown is the franchise of WWE in my eyes and it definetly has the BRAGGING RIGHTS over RAW.

As always i would appreciated your comments on this blog.

    Raw finally Rocked!

Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 10:36 AM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to another one of my blogs, i havent managed to write in a while especially about Raw as i thought the shows have disappointed many of us in recent weeks and i am finally glad to say i can write a column regarding a very good Raw and last night's show with Big Ben as guest host for me delivered very well, infact i would go as to say that this was the best special host the show has had since this concept was introduced, Bob Barker was excellent as well though but i am edging for Ben as my best non wrestler host thus far.

I want to start off with the match between a very impressive Miz and another fantastic athlete in Kofi Kingston, these two always give us great end to end entertainment in their matches, so many near falls and i was honestly on the edge of my seat last night even though i knew it would finally be the Miz's night, Kofi's reign as US Champion was very impressive and he should be very proud of his run with the belt, but The Miz for me was the only decent contender to take that title from him and i couldnt be happier for Miz, he has upped his game and he deserves a run with the gold, overall great match and great value to the US Title.

Jack Swagger for me is a very good athlete, but ever since his move to Raw he has been let down very badly by creative with the way he has been used, yes he did feature in the US Title picture but that feud really belonged to Kofi and Miz, so for me Swagger was never a contender to win that title, last night however we saw the start of a new program for Swagger, he says he will go undefeated until the end of the year and folks i reckon this is a great way to get this guy into the spoltight again, he had a decent match with Primo but it was obvious what the outcome of the match would be when Swagger cut his promo at the beginning, overall i am hopeful Swagger moves away from the US Title picture and moves on to hopefully competing against bigger superstars on the brand.

Little small point to make, why in the name did WWE split up Carlito and Primo, these two were great as a team and now both men seem to be going absolutely no where as singles stars, it's an utter shame for two talented individuals.

I loved the opening of Raw with the Diva's ball, great to see all Divas on one show last night, the match produced some good spots and i was happy with the outcome, Mickie James for me is awesome, and i reckon Maryse will come back shortly to get some revenge on Mickie, i would also like to see  all divas being used on all 3 brands as their is some talented Divas their who need more spotlight time.

Now i wanted the John Cena and Randy Orton feud to be over and done with, i will be honest any time they have battled i am not really interested in it, but as their matches go on i start to enjoy them, now i am not sure if i want to see these two battle for an hour on a PPV, but this match at Bragging Rights could be off the charts, now i know we are in a PG era here but surely with the anything goes rule and the way this match was made last night we may see some blood?, i would love it if this happened, PLEASE WWE get some blood in their, The Hell in a Cell PPV flopped as no blood was involved, it was just  normal cage matches at that PPV as far as i am concerned, it was never HELL IN A CELL.

JeriShow and DX last night was an immense main event, even Big Show impressed me last night, the match was given a good amount of time and it deserved it, all 4 men worked their socks off and it now looks like my predicition was right when i said DX and JeriShow would work a program after DX and Legacy were over., the confrontation to make this match between Big Ben and his lineman was great, so entertaining and the way Raw ended will definetly get Raw media attention, it all worked out so perfectly last night and i am in no doubt that Vince McMahon will be a happy guy today.

As you will notice i didnt speak about Chavo/Masters v MVP/Henry match, for it was pointless, however i am interested to see where Mark Henry is going, when i watch a match i sometimes see heel turns coming, and i see Mark Henry's face turn ending shortly, he's gonna take out MVP, mark my words.

Overall guys i loved Raw last night, and i just hope Raw can continue this onto next week, I still am a supported of Smackdown as i still think its better than Raw, but last night i was very happy with Raw.

As always guys i would like your opinions on this column.

    Breaking Point - Impact Made!

Monday, September 14, 2009, 12:36 PM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to my review of last night's WWE PPV Breaking Point, live from Montreal Quebec, Canada.

Well i done ok in my predictions i got 4/7 correct, i forgot to mention the William Regal and Christian match when i wrote the blog but i would have went for Chrisitian so overall i was happy with my predictions.

Well for me the crowd in Montreal were fantastic all night, they were loud and they made the show a success in my opinion and i would gather all the stars who performed last night would be delighted with the crowd reaction to both heels and faces.

The show kicked off with a decent tag team encounter between Jericho/Big Show and MVP/Henry, it was an ok bout, anytime Jericho and MVP are in the ring together  they click very well, Show and Henry do their best but nothing special, i predicted a win for the defending champions and i was right, for me Jericho and Show are working very well as champions and it's too early to end their reign, i now possibly see Show and Jericho moving on to feud with DX over the tag titles but that will be after DX gets revenge for Legacy getting the victory over DX last night.

And from talking about Legacy i will now move on to the tag team, falls count anywhere submission match, for me it was another great contest between these two teams, some hard hitting shots in this match and great spots with all the superstars going through the crowd, the match just clicked brilliantly for me, i went with a DX win so i was very surprised with Legacy getting the victory, fair play to HBK tapping out in Montreal also, this match really does build Legacy up to be decent main players and i look foward to see how Legacy build up this victory on Raw tonight.

Kane v Khali for me was poor, the worst match of the night by far, it was short but apart from a few good singapore cane shots nothing in the match clicked, it was more or less the same outcome as Summerslam with Ranjin Singh interfering and causing Khali to be distracted to lose the match, the only thing that we can maybe take out of this match is that Khali and Singh could be on the verge of a split up with either one turning heel on each other.

The Miz v Kofi Kingston took place last night for the US Title, it was a good fast paced match with Kofi once again retaining, Kofi is having a superb title reign and him winning last night was completely ok for me even though i thought it would be the Miz's night, i reckon tonight on Raw we will see Jack Swagger enter the US Title picture possibly setting up a triple threat match down the line between Kofi, The Miz and Swagger.

Now a lot of people may not agree with me here but this is my opinion and i am sticking too it, Christian v William Regal was an absolute outstanding contest, for me Regal was hugely impressive with some of his suplexes he performed on Christian, it was a complete hard hitting contest and i am sure both men are a little banged up today after last night, i was just really impressed and it was actually my best wrestling match of the night, i hope they continue to push Regal on ECW and let him get a reign as ECW Champion as the guy works his socks off in the ring and deserves a run with a title.

The I Quit match for the WWE Title actually surprised me, i wasnt looking foward to it at all, but in the end i was happy with the match, Orton throughout the whole match had the better of Cena, when he handcuffed Cena and started hitting him with the singapore cane i thought the ref would maybe stop the match and Orton would retain, but Cena as he said did not Quit and he came back at Orton and hit the STF to regain the WWE Title, i am never happy when Cena is champion as Raw generally goes down hill, it started to improve in recent weeks but with Cena as champion again and fear for Monday Night's, but overall a very good match.

Then the main event World Champion CM Punk taking on The Undertaker, the match was short and it wasnt that special either but the ending for me delivered!, i did not see this one coming, even though i was thinking about Montreal 97 all night, i really did think Vince McMahon was over this situation but it seems he aint, The Undertaker made Punk tap and as he was announced champion i just knew something was going to happen as the referee didnt leave the ring, then Mr Theodore Long turns heel and makes the impact Vince McMahon wanted him too and tells Undertaker his Hells Gate submission is banned and the match re-starts, Punk locks in the anaconda vice, Taker doesnt tap but the referee rings the bell, runs out of the ring gives Punk the belt and Punk and referee Scott Armstrong scamper up the ramp where the show ends with a worried looking Teddy Long and a cocky CM Punk, The Undertakers facial reactions were great also, the shock on his face was a picture, i loved this screwjob ending it makes this feud between Taker and Punk very interesting and i am sure both men will meet in the HELL IN A CELL at the next PPV where this time Taker will get his revenge and become a 7 time champion, this ending also makes interesting viewing for Smackdown in the weeks to come, i cant wait to see what Undertakers reaction will be and what sort of promo will Teddy Long and the referee maybe do, it makes Smackdown still in my view the NO1 show in WWE and this new interesting storyline is going to make it even better.

Well guys i would love your opinions on this blog, i was very happy with WWE Breaking Point and i would give it a strong 8/10

I also heard a rumour today that Batista will be moving back to Smackdown after his announcment on Raw tonight, interesting times again.
