Did Vince really think the DRAFT would make Raw better?

Hey Guys, i haven't written for a while but theirs a few things i wanna get off my chest concerning WWE's flagship broadcast Monday Night Raw.

I read on all wrestling websites before the WWE draft was made that Vince McMahon was hell bent on making Monday Night Raw his No1 show, he wanted to make Raw a must watch show every week and sadly after the draft i can guarentee you Vince is kicking himself as it has led to major disappointment.

Chris Jericho was moved over to Smackdown and wow how good has Jericho been on Friday Night's, Smackdown is without a doubt the show that gained from the draft and for me it is a must watch show ever Friday's especially if Jericho is on the broadcast, Shawn Michaels, i know he has his religious believes in all but he should have been the man who moved to Smackdown and work Tuesday night's not Chris Jericho, when Shawn Michaels returns to Raw he is just coming back into a show to feud with the same superstars he has feuded with constantly on that show for the past 7 years.

The Undertaker, the dead man stays on Smackdown for the 7th year in a Row, now if Vince wanted to make Raw his No1 Show then Undertaker should have been the man drafted to Raw, it is pretty clear that WWE'S top 2 superstars who are over with the audience are John Cena then The Undertaker, Jeff Hardy is closing in though don't get me wrong but if Undertaker was drafted we could have saw him feud with John Cena thats something we haven't see since Taker returned with his dead man persona, Vince has basically bottled it with not having these two on the same show.

If we look at Raw and we list the 5 top superstars we have John Cena, Batista, Triple H, HBK, Randy Orton, now list these superstars and put them into feuds, it is feuds we have seen time and time again on Raw, the only feud i would be interested in seeing again here out these superstars would be Triple H and Shawn Michaels, but we know for sure we aren't going to see that happen in a long time as their is UK DX invasion tour in November.

Batista for me looks slow and sluggish in the ring , if WWE wants to make Raw more interesting why not turn the Animal HEEL and bring a bit of anger and rage about his persona instead of all this huggy huggy segments he has with Ric Flair.

For me Shawn Michaels is going to return and enter a feud on Raw with someone he's probably worked a program with many times before in his 7 years stay on Raw, again i do not feel that HBK will make Raw better.

Triple H is another who will not help out the broadcast, he will go straight back into the title picture again and Raw will have his face all over it.

So to be blunt, Raw for me did not deliver in the draft and for the time being ill be watching the 'A' show in the WWE on Friday Night's, Guys like Jeff Hardy, Edge, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and the upcoming star John Morrison, look at all these names folks and imagine them on Raw, dont you thing Raw would be so much better?, i certainly do!

Triple H returned  on Raw, do we really need to see Triple H and Randy Orton feud again, we have saw it too many times and their is really nothing else creative can do, apart from maybe putting them in a Hell in a Cell match, last night's Raw ending was just the same as a Raw ending leading up to Wrestlemania.

    A very Disappointing Raw!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009, 10:46 AM EST [General]

Hey Guys and welcome to my review on Monday Night Raw, i have to say apart from the opening segment and the main event, everything else on Raw was a disappointment.

Shane McMahon taking out Orton was beginning to get tiring and after Legacy interfered it was pretty obvious MVP and Batista were going to even up the score, it was a ok opener but nothing great.

Matt Hardy v Kofi Kingston was ok, but Matt not being 100% is not helping his push at the moment, so i didn't quite get into Hardy last night, a decent match with Kofi Kingston getting the victory.

The Festus/Jillian sing off was a complete waste of time, it wasnt funny nor did it bring anything to the show.

Now the worst segment i have seen in Raw in a long time was after the Miz's good promo on John Cena, The Miz is doing really well on the mic and i am all for this push he is getting, but i have to say afterwards when Big Show destroyed Cena it was like the audience was sitting in a morgue, this segment was so bland and boring and for me no one actually cares about Big Show and it's a feud no one wants to see.

Cody Rhodes/MVP and Batista v Ted Dibiase were short and nothing attractive matches, a countout loss and a DQ loss didnt help the quiet Buffalo crowd one bit, i didnt get into any of these 2 matches and thats all i am saying about this.

Maryse v Mickie James was ok, but again nothing special, i really thought these two would put on a good match but for me it just didnt work last night, the only good thing about this match is that it looks like Mickie James is being pushed into the title picture again.

Carlito v The Brian Kendrick= Complete and utter pointless ****, too short and just a fill up to waste time on this lousy broadcast.

The Main event was good, Shane McMahon has finally been wiped out of the picture with Orton destroying his leg or ankle, good segment with Orton really promoting that he is WWE Champion and that he is the best heel on Raw by far and that now wipes out the entire McMahon family.

Overall i thought last night's show was boring, the crowd were dead all night, and i honestly believe that when the ratings comes out for this weeks Raw it's going to be worse of than it was last week when it got a 3.4

    Smackdown No1 Broadcast in WWE

Sunday, May 3, 2009, 01:49 PM EST [General]

    Hi

I would just like to write a short blog on Friday Night Smackdown.

After the draft i didnt really consider the effect it would take on Smackdown, after watching last Friday's episode i had to say the show was phenominal from start to finish.

With Chris Jericho along with the likes of Edge, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Kane and Undertaker on this show for me it is without a doubt the NO1 Broadcast in WWE.

We are going to see some tremendous matches on the show and some great feuds to look foward too, i thought the fatal 4 way match was excellent, seeing Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio going at it make me think on what a wonderful feud that could be if it happens, plus with the addition of Edge and Jericho possible going at it in the future i for one think this show it the one to watch.

Raw will still be No1 as far as WWE management go but for the sake of actual Wrestling, Smackdown will be the number 1 show.

Any thought's on this i'll be glad to hear your responses.

Raw Review- MVP Takes his Bow!

Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 01:33 PM EST [General]

Hey guys and welcome to my Raw Review column, Raw started last night on the back of a very good PPV in WWE Backlash and last night was the 1st night that the WWE draft came into fruition.

Randy Orton and The Legacy for me is a fantastic team, the 3 members gel so well together, Randy Orton is our New WWE Champion and i have absolutely no problem with that, the man has been the star of Raw for the past 5 months and indeed it is his time to be champion, last night he cut a magnificent promo slating all the fans and once again announcing that he wiped out all the McMahon family and including in that also was Triple H, and i now suspect Triple H will take some deserved time off and rest his wounds, and i do believe that when Triple H returns he will obviously have unfinished business with Orton, however his main priority will be Batista as he was the man who cost him his championship at Backlash.

Anyway during Orton's promo MVP made his first official Raw appearance as a Raw member, MVP is really over with the crowd and he will fit in really well to the Raw brand, i liked MVP's interaction with Orton and The Legacy, it got me thinking back to a few years ago when Randy Orton won the Intercontinental Title whilst in Evolution and i really do believe that we will see Ted Dibiase step up and win the US title sooner rather than later and that move will evolve Dibiase into a main player as he really has the potential to be something big.

Ill go right on to the match between Orton and MVP all i can say is that it was a great match, these two going at it for the first time brought a lot of freshness to the Raw broadcast, the match ended in a no contest or a DQ win for Orton after Shane McMahon interfered and took out Orton with a kendo stick and an elbow from the top rope and these two will go at it next week on Raw where i believe the McMahon/Orton fued will come to an end, maybe with a shock and by that i mean a possible McMahon heel turn and the 4th member of The Legacy.

Last night i was actually happy with Vicki Guerrero on Raw as our new Raw G.M, i have always been a fan of Smackdown especially when she was on it and last night it felt as if i was watching Smackdown minus The Undertaker, so i am happy that she is Raw General manager, she is still very over with heat from the crowd and now that she is on live television i see that heat getting even more louder, anyway she made a No1 contenders match for Judgment Day pitting Big Show against Batista.

Kofi Kingston defeated The Brian Kendrick in a good match, if this match had been given longer it would have been better, i am a big fan of Kingston and i am looking foward to see where he goes from here, it's a shame on The Brian Kendrick, he was being pushed on Smackdown but he made some sort of mistake backstage to WWE management and he is still in the dog house, i only really see him being a jobber on Raw for the forseeable future.

The Divas match was over so quickly, the only point i really want to make here is why is Kelly Kelly out their when she is never used in the ring during tag matches?, why does Mickie James no longer get decent ring time?, WWE should scrap the Santina angle and let the actual real Divas show off their skills and get into some interesting programs that the fans would like to see, Vince really has let down the Womans Division in the last 2 years.

Carlito and Primo defeated Chavo and Jamie Noble in a good match, The Colon's are on a roll and its good to see them on Raw, i suspect a Priceless v Primo and Carlito feud happening shortly as well, my only problem here is the way Chavo Guerrero is being used, this guy is a great athlete and he deserves so much better by WWE management, his aunt is more in the spotlight than he is and that is just wrong, The Guerrero's are a great wrestling family and Chavo deserves a push or even a re-package in his character.

Matt Hardy beat Goldust in a squash, Matt Hardy is doing a very good job as a heel and i only see better things for him happening shortly on Raw!

Last night the Miz who has improved so much in the last year cut a good heel promo calling out John Cena, Cena didn't appear and Miz declared himself the winner, i actually liked Miz last night he has really stepped up his game and he says he is their to be a top player on Raw, will this happen? unfortunately i dont forsee it and John Cena is going to make him pay when he is ready to return to the ring, i wish Miz would have been able to call out someone else rather than Cena as it's so obvious what will happen to Miz next.

And finally the main event, it was ok but nothing special Batista beat Big Show via countout when John Cena appeared to distract the Big Show, i did like Cena and Show's stare down to end the broadcast but i am not really interested in seeing these two going at it again at Judgment Day, we have saw it so many times in the last 2 months, Anyway Batista is the No 1 Contender for the WWE Title and will meet Orton at Judgement Day!

Anyways Raw was a very decent show and i am looking foward to the next broadcast to see what happens when Shane takes on Orton and what sort of condition will John Cena be in?.

Top marks last night for me go to MVP he overall had a great night as a member of Raw Roster.
