    What Has Happened To Wrestling?!?!

Well The Undertaker is taking a break. He is after all 43 years old now and has had a longer career in the WWE than most. There is a much bigger problem in the WWE than Undertaker taking time off. It has become unbelieveably BORING. I don't even bother watching Smackdown. I only try to tune in at the end to see Undertaker because he is the only thing worth watching on that show. As far as Raw, same thing, nothing worth seeing anymore. HHH is the only one that is somewhat entertaining. It was nice seeing a little bit of actual technical wrestling between Y2J and HBK the other night. You don't see that anymore. Remember the Great matches between HBK and Bret Hart? Now we get to watch Cena run back and forth just to fall on his oppenent with a fist. (It must hurt the other guy more when you run back and forth first.)

My point is WWE needs to come up with something new and exciting, it's always the same 'ol stuff week after week. (I say "stuff" because I can't say what I really want to call it.) Surprise us with something once in a while. Something big needs to happen in this industry because I don't know how they are selling out arenas and selling PPV's and staying in business the way the last couple of years have been. The late 80's and the 90's were great, better "characters", better strory lines, ect. The "Attitude Era" and Monday Night Wars were awesome and exciting, you never knew what was going to happen each week. Now it's just the same 'ol same 'ol, week after week.

I remember when some wrestlers were promoted as role modles for kids, even though most were hypocritical drug and steriod abusers (for example Terry Bollea). Now with the days of the internet word spreads fast. Jeff Hardy gets a 2 month suspension for his second failed drug test, has to surrender the IC belt to Y2J because of it, and when his suspension is over he gets thrown into the the mix for the championship with HHH, and Cena as a reward! I'm just a guitar playing carpenter but I know if I failed 2 drug tests my union sure would not promote me to a foreman or project manager!! I would be fired!

I think the 3 brands are stretching things out too much. There is never a good GM with any good story lines. Now it's stupid GM's making stupid decisions. Put that power back in the hands of the wrestlers like the days of NWO and DX. I think One Good night of wrestling a week would be just fine instead of stretching out the talent and ideas into 3 nights of wrestling a week. What happened to the good old days like the Austin McMahon fued. That was probably the best story line ever, because who hasn't ever wanted to kick their bosses butt like that! Why can't WWE come up with some excitement like that any more? They are obviously out of ideas. McMahon sure isn't affraid to fire anyoneone so why can't he get some new writers, or think up some stuff himself like he used to? There used to be great tag-teams too like The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Road Warriors, and The Rockers and great tag-team matches that were exciting. I can't even name one good tag team these days. The only good tag-team of recent years I can think of are The Hardy Boys. Find some new tallent, and/or bring back some old. Find some guys that know some technical wrestling. Too bad they lost Kurt Angle. I know guys like Bret Hart, Macho Man Randy Savage, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Ric Flair-(In his prime), Ultimate Warrior, and of course The Undertaker can never be replaced or duplicated but some thing needs to be done here. I know dominate groups like The Four Horsemen, The Hart Foundation, The NWO, and DX can't be copied again but things like that were Great, and again, you never knew what was going to happen each week but you knew it would be exciting. Now HBK is nearing the end of his long career, and then HHH will eventually be leaving and who do we have that is young, Cena and Orton who both bore me, Batista who's heart could explode any day now, and oh yeah, can't forget the remarkable tallents and excitement of The Miz! I hope someone in the WWE that values the opinions of fans gets wind of this because I'm 32 and have been watching wrestling for about 25 years now, and lately I find myself watching less and less because I'm bored by it all.

you seem to look back at the past a lot like DX and the attitude era. i agree with you 100% and WWE needs to make BIG changes otherwise they are going to really suffer in the ratings. thats why vince did the million dollar thing. but they need to change their show around real fast!

Brother its sad dude because things are only gonna go down hill from now on. Brother a sad fact that we are all going to have to face in a couple years is that our heroes from wrestlings illustrious past are not going to be around forever and this current generation of superstars has taken the entertainment out of sports entertainment. Their is no Austin 3:16 anymore, theirs no Hulkamania, hell theirs not even and nWo or DX any more brother, all we have is some jerk from Boston who thinks hes black(Cena). Their is one thing that is etched in stone brother wrestling will not get better and our only hope is to catch glances of legends and Icons on their way out of the business such as Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin. So whatcha gonna do when The Ultimate Hulkamaniac runs wild on YOOOOOUUUUUU!!!
