Sooner or later, they will have to break up. What gimmicks could be used for the two of them?

I believe the wedge is already there. DiBiase is so afraid of Orton though that he asked his "daddy" to help him purchase Orton a car. But if he keeps on embarassing DiBiase and making them both feel like "lackey's" - I believe an three way match for some title belt could be it. Orton can no longer be the WWE Champion so he's going to be looking for another bit of bling to put around his waist. Possible the United States Champion belt that Miz is carrying right now. Ultimately Miz will have to go against Orton in order to keep it, so a three way match where both boys get a tad upset standing in the ring and doing nothing - looking pathetic as always and just like Orton's gophers and when Orton needs the help to beat Miz, then he will have them help him and he wins the title and the lackeys discuss the situation and then face Orton in the ring, because in private, Orton intimidates them too easily.
