Say that one three times fast. Just kidding, its too early for that. I wanted to give the world my take on the Bash. As a whole I was entertained. I am okay with paying my money to see it. No issue there. I was disappointed with some results, suprised by others, and bored by others.
Tag match. The odds were against the champs, obviously. It is unlikely the belts were going to Hornswoggle and FInlay. The other three were a toss up. I noticed Hawkins and Ryder didn't have their Edgehead garb. My guess is La Familia is a thing of the past. Which way will our new champs go. Bad or good? I will say this, they beat the two most obnoxioius champioins I know of.
Matt Hardy and Shelton Benjamin. Awesome match. I wasn't really pulling for anyone here. I don't love or hate either of them. I respect both of them. Shelton is from here in South Carolina. However, I'm in the Upstate of South Carolina, not far from North Carolina. I'm not really from here anyway. I guess, I wanted Shelton. He has been around a long time and deserves some attention. You can't let talent like his be ignored or wasted.
Divas match. Not my favorite type of match. Usually I feel like it is the opportunity for the male fans to have a little eye candy and an opportunity for me to take a bathroom break and do some laundry. This one was an exception. It was a great match. Natalya is a welcome addition and she brought out the best in Michelle McCool. A diva's match where they are trading submission holds. Who'da thunk it? Not me. My hats off ladies. Michelle got the belt but we all won. Women can wrestle.
Cena vs JBL. Predictable, disappointing...kinda boring. i did like Cena driving JBL out to the arena with the forklift. I think John got a few stitches at the end and the fire part was stupid. Not a fan of this feud.
CM Punk vs. Batista. I read a spoiler that ruined this match for me. I knew Kane was coming out and I know what's in his bag. I won't ruin it for you. Let me say this the match itself was pretty good. I am glad Punk retained but I am sure he himself would tell you it wasn't one of his best days. Few people would call a chokeslam and a Batista bomb with minutes a good day.
Triple H and Edge. Predictable again. I was glad game retained. I did have hopes that someone's eerie music would play. BONG! No such luck. Apparently the rumors of his return last night were just that. I did enjoy the chic fight with Vicki and the wedding coordination. Watching Edge spear her was kind of funny. Sorry Vicki, you didn't have a very good week. Hopefully the next man in your life will have some character. But HHH has the belt which is the important thing.
I saved the big one for last, at least in my mind. HBK and Jericho. Shawn look great for most of the match. When it looked like he was gaining the advantage about to win is when that elbow caught him. I won't go into my perceptions of that incident. Let me say this, Shawn Michaels sells an injury better than anyone I know. Jericho says HBK is done, detached retina. Well, HBK has been "done" more times than any other superstar and has come back strong. I do believe he is going to be out for awhile. I am guessing he needs a break. Lets face it folks, Shawn will be 43 this week. The schedule these guys are forced to keep takes it toll on all of them The older guys don't heal as fast. That's why Undertaker takes time off and that's where Shawn is going. He came back in the fall before he really wanted to because Cena got hurt. He needs time for his body to recuperate a little bit. We will see him back before Christmas I guarantee it. He wouldn't miss Christmas with the troops in Bagdad.
Over all, I give the Bash an 8 out 10. Not bad, but I would've done a few thing differently.
