    Post Bash Blues blog

Monday, July 21, 2008, 08:28 AM EST [General]

Say that one three times fast. Just kidding, its too early for that. I wanted to give the world my take on the Bash.  As a whole I was entertained. I am okay with paying my money to see it. No issue there. I was disappointed with some results, suprised by others, and bored by others.

Tag match. The odds were against the champs, obviously. It is unlikely the belts were going to Hornswoggle and FInlay. The other three were a toss up. I noticed Hawkins and Ryder didn't have their Edgehead garb. My guess is La Familia is a thing of the past. Which way will our new champs go. Bad or good? I will say this, they beat the two most obnoxioius champioins I know of.

Matt Hardy and Shelton Benjamin. Awesome match. I wasn't really pulling for anyone here. I don't love or hate either of them. I respect both of them. Shelton is from here in South Carolina. However, I'm in the Upstate of South Carolina, not far from North Carolina. I'm not really from here anyway. I guess, I wanted Shelton. He has been around a long time and deserves some attention. You can't let talent like his be ignored or  wasted.

Divas match. Not my favorite type of match. Usually I feel like it is the opportunity for the male fans to have a little eye candy and an opportunity for me to take a bathroom break and do some laundry. This one was an exception. It was a great match. Natalya is a welcome addition and she brought out the best in Michelle McCool. A diva's match where they are trading submission holds. Who'da thunk it? Not me. My hats off ladies. Michelle got the belt but we all won. Women can wrestle.

Cena vs JBL. Predictable, disappointing...kinda boring. i did like Cena driving JBL out to the arena with the forklift. I think John got a few stitches at the end and the fire part was stupid. Not a fan of this feud.

CM Punk vs. Batista. I read a spoiler that ruined this match for me. I knew Kane was coming out and I know what's in his bag. I won't ruin it for you. Let me say this the match itself was pretty good. I am glad Punk retained but I am sure he himself would tell you it wasn't one of his best days. Few people would call a chokeslam and a Batista bomb with minutes a good day.

Triple H and Edge. Predictable again. I was glad game retained. I did have hopes that someone's eerie music would play. BONG! No such luck. Apparently the rumors of his return last night were just that. I did enjoy the chic fight with Vicki and the wedding coordination. Watching Edge spear her was kind of funny. Sorry Vicki, you didn't have a very good week. Hopefully the next man in your life will have some character. But HHH has the belt which is the important thing.

I saved the big one for last, at least in my mind. HBK and Jericho. Shawn look great for most of the match. When it looked like he was gaining the advantage about to win is when that elbow caught him. I won't go into my perceptions of that incident. Let me say this, Shawn Michaels sells an injury better than anyone I know. Jericho says HBK is done, detached retina. Well, HBK has been "done" more times than any other superstar and has come back strong. I do believe he is going to be out for awhile. I am guessing he needs a break. Lets face it folks, Shawn will be 43 this week. The schedule these guys are forced to keep takes it toll on all of them The older guys don't heal as fast. That's why Undertaker takes time off and that's where Shawn is going. He came back in the fall before he really wanted to because Cena got hurt. He needs time for his body to recuperate a little bit. We will see him back before Christmas I guarantee it. He wouldn't miss Christmas with the troops in Bagdad.

Over all, I give the Bash an 8 out 10. Not bad, but I would've done a few thing differently.

Back again. Thoughts on the Monday Night Madness

Sunday, July 13, 2008, 05:45 PM EST [General]

I know I promised a blog on Smackdown. I actually did type one, I just decided it was lame and didn't post it. I am more of an authority on Raw so I'll stick to it for now.

Cm Punk vs Batista. I am up in the air about this one. I am not sure how it will go. Punk is still a mystery to me. He was on ECW and honestly I didn't and still don't watch all that much. Batista, I don't really care for. Not just because he beat HBK but because I don't know, he doesn't do it for me. We will see what happens, it will be interesting anyway.

HBK and Jericho. As expected HBK showed up to accept the challenge for GAB. No surprise there. Jericho says he's an honest man. I think he may have honestly gone cuckoo. He is starting have that deranged look. To look at HBK, a legend, and tell him its not fair the crowds cheer him no matter what he does, is lunacy. HBK has done as much for this business as anyone else. Ladder matches, Hell in a Cell, and finally breaking his back and being forced leave before he or anyone else wanted him to. Then 4 years later he returned a changed man. Married, Christian, and healed inside and out. Did he a cut a corner when he faced Batista of course.  But you know what, he told everyone he would do what it took to win. And for the record Jericho, I don't think HBK's eye is all that injured, not anymore. I think he's allowing you to think you have an advantage. Tomorrow, we may see an altercation. Jericho will try to hit him in the eye and will probably succeed.

JBL and Cena. Boy did JBL park his limo in the wrong side of town. With the help of Cryme Time, Cena made it look pretty.  What does Mr. Cena have up his sleeve for this week? The good news for JBL is with all the Cena haters around, he might actually be cheered over the next couple of weeks.

Has Santino had enough of 619 or is he thirsting for more? We will see. Who was Kane talking about? How are our announce crew doing? Why did Michael Cole sit by and allow poor King to take that beating? I know you're not a wrestler, but the man saved you from a chokeslam. The least you can do is try to do something. Is Snitsky looking any better since his nose was broken? Where are our tag chumps..oops champs? Do they have what it takes the hold on to those belts? i think Cryme Time would love to have some bling...

My new personal motto comes from the new HBK shirt.  (available btw at WWEshop.com)  "Faith is a refusal to Panic"

    Weekly Speculation

Saturday, July 5, 2008, 10:03 PM EST [General]

Okay, its time for Rachael's weekly ideas about what will happen in the coming week. Where to begin...so much to say.

Let's start with my favorite and yours HBK. Now Jericho has played the bully and Shawn has been the nerd losing his lunch money. At least over the last couple of weeks, since his head was rammed through the Jeritron. I expect that to stop this week. I expect our boy to show up Monday night and not only accept Jericho's challenge but possibly rearrange a few cavities in the process. One eye is plenty when it comes to Sweet Chin Music. Where does Cade fit into the picture? Not sure.

How about our new champ CM Punk. He has John Cena to thank for still being the champ. Will we see a triple threat match at Great American Bash? Punk/Cena/ JBL. I personally hope not. I think Cena will take care of JBL first. JBL is like...Jason, Freddie Kreuger or, Michael Meyers. No matter how many times they are killed they keep coming back. He needs to sit down before someone really hurts him. Every dog has his day and his day was several years ago.

Batista of course tied up some loose ends. He finished his business with Edge. Now he can start on Raw with a clean slate. Where will the Animal fit in to this mix though? Will he throw his hat in the ring for the Heavy weight title?

And the Jamacain sensation Kofi Kingston, our intercontinental champ. He won his rematch last week against Jericho. Who will challenge this youngster now that the former champ has his sights set elsewhere? There are plenty of choices in the locker room. I expect someone has been lying in wait for this opportunity and will show themselves soon. Possibly our friend Lance Cade?

Santino, Santino, Santino. How many times do you need to get beaten up before you realize to think before you talk. Rey introduced you to a new area code last week...619. Now, we all know you aren't going to remain silent. That would be a sensible thing to do, something you are incapable of. I expect we will see more of your incessant rampling followed by more of Rey Mysterio going "medievil on your hiney." Don't make me call Stone Cold and his beer truck..

Our new tag champs. Cody Rhodes says people with as much talent as they do don't pay dues. They do, Cody. All the legends do. Talk to your Dad, he'll explain. Better yet, walk around with that attitude, someone will smack it out of you eventually. Ted Dibiase JR...priceless...maybe, gutless,..definitely. Nothing like doing things in a sneaky, underhanded manner. Hardcore Holly may be the one to teach our two young friends some manners.

Okay, I have covered Raw, I think. I will cover later Smackdown in the week. Comment, argue...but remember, these are my views alone and as long as the stars and stripes are waving I have a right to them.

Who will stay will go, my take

Tuesday, June 17, 2008, 07:52 PM EST [General]

I think HBK and HHH will both stay on Raw. I don't think Shawn will be wrestling that much longer so it is unlikely he will be moved. He was on the very first episode of Raw and well, it seems fitting his career end there.  HHH has been thrown around as going to Smackdown. However, he has been fighting it and I think he will get his way. Like him or not, (I do) he has the time in and the connections to get his way.

Umaga is going to Smackdown. i would like to see JBL go back to Smackdown. Maybe he could join up with La Familia. At least it would bring a new twist to the boring tale. Reports say Taker will come back as the American Badass. I see Vicki as not long for her job. Mysterio is ready to come back anytime. I expect it will be that sacred day in July.  Murdoch, Santino  to Smackdown. Gregory Helms, when he returns (hopefully as the Hurricane) to Raw. Jeff Hardy to Smackdown.

Orton will remain where he is. If the group that has been tossed around forms he may be part of it. All second generation stars. Orton, Dibiase, DH Smith (who I believe strongly is Dibiase mystery partner), Carlito,  and eventually Cody Rhodes. Bob Holly will team with Cena (?) to take this group out. In light of the feud with DX Jericho and Cade are likely to also stay put.

    My theories thrown around.

My first blog. My ideas for WWE

Friday, June 6, 2008, 07:49 PM EST [General]

Okay here goes. Since Smackdown is tonight I will start there. I like Teddy Long as ECW Manager. Vicki now has to work with him as an equal not a subordinate and no longer has the ability to order him around. I think payback will be sweet for our friend Teddy.  That said, I think ECW champion Kane should set his sights on the Rated R superstar. Avenge his brother, if you will. For every stipulation Vicki puts in Edge's corner Teddy can add one for Kane.

Need new blood for US Championship. What if Jeff Hardy were to go to Smackdown via the draft and challenge his brother. Years ago there was a hint of a feud between the two but it was kind of half-assed and did not play out the way it could have. I think Jeff left shortly there after. We need to bring back the Cruiserweight division. There are plenty of talented Cruiserweights in the WWE and they deserve the spotlight too.

Now, Raw. I say bring back DX with new members. Add Kennedy and Jericho. There have been rumors of a heel group with Ted Dibiase Jr and some of the other 2nd generation superstars. Now that would be a rivalry. JBL should go back to the announce table. His time has past. Cena can take on Orton when he comes back or even continue to Challenge Triple H. With DX in his corner, Trips would be even more unstoppable. Mind you "back in the day" DX was both loved and hated. Not everyone liked them, but a lot of people did. Xpac is supposedly out of rehab and doing well. If he can stay clean why not bring him back as a manager/ insurance policy.

    just my thoughts.
