THE WRESTLING FANS ARE NOT BABIES AND ARE BY NO MEANS STUPID... THIS STORY LINE OF A LECTURING HEALTH WATCHDOG IS JUST ANNOYING AND DOES NOTHING TO ENHANCE THE ENJOYMENT OF WRESTLING PROGRAMMING....  

Sorry "PUNK" you deserve a "SLAP...(PY)" award!

10 years of...

A DECADE SPECIAL LET DOWN...
I have to admit I was really looking forward to a special celebration of 10 years of smackdown ... However what did we get a very lame comedy party at which Michael Cole did the most unconvincing impression of a drunken party idiot... A fight that ended up in the celebration cake... Sgt. Slaughter arguing with the Sheik each just saying their countries name in MVP's so called VIP lounge as many times as possible. To cap all this play count the plugs for  HELL IN A CELL and the Live Tours. The WWE UNIVERSE are not intellectually inadequate we have got the message....      

Where there could have been an amazing review of 10 years with some of the best highlight reels and scenes from the vault there was a dreadful montage of more forgetable moments and not the best of Matt Hardy clips. Maybe they should look at some of the publications... the untold history of the WWE seen through the eyes of .... VINCE... 
NO WONDER HE LOOKS MAD ! Could this show be redeemed???

A message from the ROCK .... YAY!!! Clever but nowhere near his ring rattling ranting best but the peoples eyebrow was executed with style...

VIVA LA RASA... A fine Eddie tribute...

The main event obviously another shameless plug for HELL IN A CELL... but great fun could have done with more of this one...

PLEASE IF YOU WISH TO HONOUR A DECADE OF SMACKDOWN DO IT RIGHT THIS SEEMED A HALF HEARTED EFFORT AND SHOWS WHY ALTHOUGH WE WATCH; THE WWE UNIVERSE PREFER RAW BECAUSE IT LOOKS AS THOUGH YOU MAKE AN EFFORT.... 

SHAKEN RATTLED & RAW...

As you can see the Gnome now has a particularly short fuse... May be the ultimate SLAPPY AWARD this year should be given to everybody involved in the farsical picking of guest hosts for RAW...  Is this due to the fact that the commentary drivel of King & Cole is NOT A PATCH on the most famous combination of King & JR.  Or could it be due to the fact that some are arguing over contracts, others are spending to much time injured or falling foul of the companies well being policy(& the LAW!)...

OR COULD IT SIMPLY BE THE CREATIVE BRAINS AT TITAN TOWERS HAVE FINALLY COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THEY HAVE RUN OUT OF IDEAS... 

Maybe not... The truth is that programming has not been that bad, but you have to wonder when the reformation of DX and for Smackdown the return of the undertaker has been the highlight of most recent programming whether there are deeper seated problems within the WWE...

You could even play spot the problem with this promotional photo....

I have often been a major supporter of the fanzine POWER SLAM a recent issue had an additional little booklet entitled:   "YES THEY REALLY DID SAY THAT..."

Here are just a couple of my favourites from that edition and they could be in line for a SPECIAL SLAPPY AWARD this year...(please note nominations for Slappy awards open until the end of NOVEMBER...)

Over the past year the WWE has been piling on some of the most over the top moralistic bollox that I have ever had the misfortune to even consider as entertainment. This is no more than perpetuating the manipulation of people's life styles through the entertainment of the Masses ... So much for the land of the free... How long will CM FLUNK (ooops! PUNK) be forced to maintain this self rightious myth that he is perfection personified....
