So Maybe RAW Didn't Make Out So Well...

Wednesday, July 1, 2009, 12:56 AM EST [General]

Yesterday, I was all up in arms about RAW really giving it ECW without lubrication or dinner at a first class restaurant...in that order...but after watching tonight's episode of ECW, I'm not so sure that's the case anymore.

I didn't catch most of the episode, but one of my predictions from yesterday did come true...Sheamus O'Shaughnessy made his ECW debut tonight.  Also,  Yoshi Tatsu and Tyler Reks also made an impact on tonight's show.  BUT, much to my delight, I found out that Abraham Washington debuted on the show as well!  If you haven't seen this guy in FCW, then you should get to Youtube and check out some FCW episodes with him.

All in all, looks like things are looking up for the Land of Extreme.  Stay tuned, Universers!

    **Sigh** Okay...

Monday, June 29, 2009, 11:41 PM EST [General]

Again, RAW for the past few weeks now has been hit AND miss.  Tonight's episode was no exception.  I will admit, however, that the plus of tonight's episode was pretty awesome, and I'm glad that Batista isn't as big an idiot as I thought he was...I'll explain in a minute.

    HIT - RAW Violates ECW
So, we find out that before Donald Trump was fired, he made 15 "trades" for the RAW brand, and in tonight's episode, 3 of these 15 trades would face WWE Champion Randy Orton in a Gauntlet Match.  These 3 trades were all from ECW: Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, and Mark Henry.

In case you didn't see the show: Orton beat Bourne, Swagger intentionally got himself counted out (citing that he wanted to make an impression upon Orton because he "respects" him), and Henry faked getting himself counted out, only to stop the ref at 4 and return to beat Orton for the victory.

Before I go on, I must say that this was a very non-intelligent move for Tiffany, ECW's current GM.  Bourne and Swaggar are currently two of the hottest stars on the brand, and let's hope the Hart Dynasty stays put for the sake of the brand...then again, Shamus O'Shaughnessy has been making his rounds on the WWE TV's dark match circuit, so we could be staring at some new talent on their way into the organization via ECW.  This would be a good thing.

This move is also good for RAW, which proves my theory that somebody watches what we write on here; I've been talking for a few weeks about how stale RAW has become, and it seems that things are slowly being shaken up...but then, here comes the miss...

MISS - Triple H versus John Cena, Next Week on RAW
Yeah...I was just writing on here about how terrible this match-up was, and I had to switch gears and acknowledge the fact that RAW did something right.  BUT, we've still got these same old, archaic match-ups that have fans yawning on Monday nights.  I'm guessing next week's episode will do something to shake this up, but let us not forget that there's also the possibility of another grossly negligent creative injustice.  As it stands, we'll either get Cena v. Orton in four weeks, or HHH v. Orton in four weeks.  I have no clue how next week's match-up between Cena and HHH will turn out, but I can assure you that out of all parties involved, the fans will not be the winners

    Are You Kidding Me?!?! Really?!?!?!

Monday, June 29, 2009, 11:02 PM EST [General]

I didn't get a chance to catch The Bash, but I am watching RAW as we speak.  So now, we've got HHH vs. Cena next week, where the winner will face Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at the Night of Champions PPV...

    How lame is that?

Smackdown has the younger talent.  ECW is a great place for upcoming stars to make their debut (watch out for Shamus), Superstars gives us great matches with future main eventers, and RAW...it's a dinosaur boneyard.

Don't get me wrong; I love RAW and I eagerly anticipate my Monday night fix each and every week.   But these storylines, come on WWE Creative!!!!  I support your product, I buy the DVDs, I yell at people who don't buy into the WWE's machine...

Okay, so now I have to write a whole new blog...be right back...

Future Endeavored - Sim Snuka and Candace Michelle

Friday, June 19, 2009, 11:38 PM EST [General]

I'm trying not to be mean about this one...

When Candace returned, she looked like a soccer mom to me, and no matter what she did, I couldn't shake that image from my head.

Sim Snuka.....well I think most of us thought he was already future endeavored.

Three cheers for Candace Michelle and Sim Snuka.

    Fans' Expectations "Trump" RAW's Delivery

Monday, June 15, 2009, 11:35 PM EST [General]

So of course, Universers' opinions on tonight's "shocking" episode of RAW are being strewn about all over, and you know Money had to put his two cents in.

The show still stunk to holy hell.

To be frightfully transparent with you all, as much as I love the RAW brand, it's just not as exciting and fresh as Smackdown; RAW seems to be in this funk, and I believe there are several reasons behind this.  Lack of newer, younger stars being pushed; stale storylines; HHH's return to television; the RAW product is just bookie right now.

I wasn't all that impressed with the announcement that Trump "bought" RAW.  In fact, most of us can probably agree that the highlight of the night was the Hornswoggle nutshot...it doesn't matter who it happens to, but blows to the scrotum are pretty hilarious unless it happens to you.  And even then, it is pretty funny.

Once again, RAW doesn't live up to it's promises of exciting WWE fans every Monday night on USA...
