It has been speculated that Edge's achilles tendon injury could keep him out of the ring until early next year.
Undertaker. Shawn Michaels. Batista. Edge. Now what?
This is what I was talking about when I referenced the WWE making new top stars; when you rely heavily on your cash cows to carry a brand, what happens when the unthinkable happens and they get injured, or in Jeff Hardy's case, remains painfully ambiguous about what they're going to do when their contract is up?
Being that Edge is one half of the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions, all three brands (really, moreso Smackdown and RAW than ECW) are going to take a hit without him. I really saw Edge's character getting a shot of adrenaline by being aligned with Jericho...but alas, it is not to be.
But, this is a good time for young superstars on the rise, esp. with Jeff Hardy's career teetering. Look for some of the talent to get some sort of push...The Hart Dynasty, Dolph Ziggler...it looks good.
Here's to Edge's speedy recovery.
