Rap-rock outfit Limp Bizkit has reformed with the original line-up, following an eight-year hiatus.

The Florida band will launch a world tour in late May, including headlining shows and festival appearances.

Singer Fred Durst and guitarist Wes Borland, who has quit and rejoined the band twice, said in a joint statement: "We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back."

The band sold 33 million copies of its first three albums around the world, according to a statement from Universal Music Group. A new album, the first featuring the original line-up since 2000's "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water," is planned.
