General]
The PPV Vengeance was pretty good
just because everyone I wanted to win won that night. Now, I may have
said I would Cena would win but that was because out of the probable possible
scenarios that was the better of two evils.
The first match was a good opener
between Finlay and son against Miz and Morrison. The biggest problem with
this match is how Morrison and Miz are suppose to be treated like bullies for
beating up on a midget but how is he suppose to be treated in a match like
this. I have a big problem with Hornswoggle being in championship matches
because of the chance of them being vacated like the Cruiserweight was.
To have these contenders hurts the slim tag team division there is. To
liven it up Smackdown should repeat what was done ten years ago with a Maryse
or Cherri invitational. Oh, hey 4 more months until the extremely flaunty
team becomes holders of the belt for a year.
Matt Hardy defeating Chavo was a
great match showing why Matt deserved the push he is getting and I can't wait
to see what he does with the ECW roster. I don't like the fact the
"Smackdown's title is on ECW because it makes sure this stupid talent
exchange is kept.
The triple threat ECW championship
match is one of the title matches of the night I was most excited for.
With a member from each brand representing the ECW Championship could have
ended up anywhere. I was rooting for Mark Henry since he was just drafted
to ECW and was the only one who could bring it back. Kane did a great job
attempting to take both out but a toss out the ring kept Kane out of the match
pretty much the whole time. It was weird because after Kane got thrown
out he just sat there even after the medical team checked on him and said
nothing was wrong. Henry had to cover for Kane until he came back.
I had a feeling that there was suppose to be a lot more outside action than
there was; outside action would have helped for the name of the "ECW"
match even though the two previous matches had only extremist.
Raw Tag team championship was
holding a big surprise that I was not even sure of. Well, there were two
choices: A mystery partner or betrayal. It was betrayal. It did not
become obvious until Ted said his partner was going to be late; no way would
WWE have a heel prove themselves. As quickly as I thought this came the DDT
to Holly and Debidiase doing his dad's trademark finisher.
After this there was two hours
left. Vickie should have got that Divas Championship ready.
The Intercontinental Championship
was sure to happen with Chris Jericho dissing Shawn Michaels. During this
process apparently Lance Cade appeared there must have been an underground
tunnel or something because Cade didn't come down with Jericho and Jericho
didn't even mention him being there. This stunk because I really wanted
Cade to ask for that favor but instead Kofi came down, which is still pretty
cool because Kofi was a lot of fun on ECW. The match was great the two almost
went for fifteen minutes and that's when Michaels came to ruin it all for
Jericho's easy win he developing. The title change no matter to who is a
good thing because the rivalry between Jericho and Michaels is so good it
didn't need a championship to help it. Championships are there to make
easy rivalries and Y2J-HBK rivalry did not need this title for their rivalry
ongoing since March.
A quick talk for the women's
championship match. Katie Lee proved that she can do an aggressive match
for a PPV but a little more work and she be able to be more entertaining than
Layla which Katie just seems to be a better version of at the moment.
Congrats to Mickie for retaining.
The Edge-Batista show was a well
developed match. Nothing too technical but the passion was there. I
would have been very disappointed if La Familia would come to a corny ending as
it would if Batista were to defeat Edge. Thank goodness La Famillia came
to save the day. When they first started coming down it seemed that Edge
didn't need them but after the long walk way Batista got that devastating spine
buster and Vickie through the ref out of that ring before he could count to
three. The finish had Chavo count the three count after Edge clocked the thief
with his title. The finish gave me what I wanted and that's all that
mattered at the moment.
The Main Event came which had me
frightened yet relieved. I believed that WWE was going through with my
philosophy of evening out the brands and forcing those sad souls that chose to
watch Raw. Cena and HHH, who was too tan for some reason, had a great
finish for this PPV with John Cena showing he'll do what he needs to take back
his title while at the same time HHH kept Cena off him with big power
moves. The cool thing about this match is Cena was attacking HHH's leg
building up for the STFU instead of getting beaten up for 10 minutes and then
having it pop of nowhere for the win. HHH gave a pushapedigree for the
win when it was all said and done. Smackdown has 2 World Championships.

Quick Raw Talk
Congratulation to the X-extremist
for their championship gain. Kofi Kingston and CM Punk pretty much are
the faces of Raw now. It's too bad Punk couldn't pick HHH instead of Edge
but oh well. Irony rules! I didn't see the whole 2nd Kofi-Jericho
match but DQ because of pulling the tights is a little silly. Jericho
should have gouged Kofi's eyes for being caught than DQed but because he pulled
the tights.
Also, I'm happy to see Rey is slowly
making it back to the ring once again and Santino is always great to see with
the mic; I can't believe he found a way to mispronounce Mysterio. Santino
has turned this into an art.
Where are Matt Striker and Layla if
Raw is going to take them?
I'm glad to see JBL at least get a
chance to he still has what it takes to be the top heel of a brand. It
probably was a one night gimmick but it's still nice to see Raw believes in
him.

ECW Futah
The show for ECW did not find any
way to further ECW's future except for a beginning Dreamer-Henry rivalry for
the ECW title. This had a great promo by Henry bragging as if ECW owes
him something and Dreamer explaining the legacy behind the championship of
which Henry is holding. It makes me a little sad even though I expected
it that Delaney was killed in the end. I agree with Delaney I enjoy his
passion but needs to find something to back it up. Maybe next week it
will be Delaney v. Henry in an extreme rule and when Dreamer can't take his
bullying anymore will interfere. I hope ECW sticks to this storyline
because it's the only the show has.
The 5 1/2 man tag was an impressive
match but it should've been saved later for when these guys start interacting
with other wrestlers of the brand to gather more storylines. You know
there Burke, Knox, Bourne (why doesn't he have a profile yet?), and Super
Crazy! Psh. I would be fine if Boogeyman or Richards appear but I
don't know if they are sick or what.
Last thing is I am happy Long is
straight out saying what ECW is a play to gather new talent but wrestled
tonight reminded me of the jobbers in TNA. The Ortiz guy had nothing
interesting to say and Estrada looked like Regal tonight against him. At
least Estrada got to show more what he can do hopefully he can soon get that
contract he is fighting for.
Two general things ECW should work
at are:
- Ending the "Talent Exchange". ECW
doesn't need Smackdown stars anymore Smackdown is needing ECW
extremists. Fans who like ECW wrestlers just skip ECW and see their
favorite extremist on Smackdown. It's sickening that this is suppose
to help ECW. It's what is destroying the show's rating.
- I know everyone else is begging for this and yet ECW
teases the fans with it monthly but they could at least do once a week and
switch it among the wrestlers.
- Bring back the cheap looking entrance. It looked
cheap but it was ECWs. Try to reform it to what it was that's why
Original fans want to see.
I hope you enjoyed my
reviewing. I have a hard time doing these because of coaching and what
not but if there are any requests I can probably fulfill them. Also be
sure to check out Dreamer's up and coming blog about the state of ECW. I
hope he is going to take action than sit around moaning. He is the one in
the position I only wish I could utilize.
