    Main Event Plaza: Animalistic Retribution

Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 06:31 PM CST [General]

Hey beautiful people! Welcome to another edition of Main Event Plaza! Last night we were fresh off Wrestlemania, and since then a few things have changed. I've much to tell you, let's begin!

Randy Orton didn't win the WWE championship from Triple H at Wrestlemania. Obviously, he was mad as hell. He opened RAW by saying that Triple H's win proved nothing. He was then joined by Mr. McMahon, who proposed a match for Backlash. A six man tag team match contested between Legacy and the team of Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Triple H. Randy accepted, then posted a challenge of his own. He challenged Mr. McMahon to a match. Never backing down from a challenge, Vince agreed.

Two other men were mad as hell last night. John Morrison and the Miz didn't take losing the Unified tag team championships too lightly. They had their rematch Monday night. Once again, they took on Carlito and Primo for the title. Lumberjacks were once again surrounding the ring. The match was nothing short of great, and in the end, the Colon bros. came out victorious!

We had ourselves a RAW vs. Smackdown! diva tag team match last night. Mickie James, Melina, Kelly Kelly, Jillian and Layla from RAW took on Natalya, Maryse, Maria, Eve and Gail Kim from SD!. The match was really good, it was very fast paced and exciting to watch. In the end, Mickie pinned Natalya for the win!

My personal favorite match of the night was the All-star tag team match. John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and CM Punk took on the team of Matt Hardy, Edge, Big Show, Chris Jericho and Kane. The match was simply amazing. It was the personification of a great 10 man tag match. All the gold and briefcases proved a big motivation, and Rey double 619'ed his way to earn his team a victory! It seems that after all this time, Ricky hasn't lost a step :)

Much to the extreme dismay of the entire free world and the entire WWE Universe, Vickie Guerrero has chosen to be the permanent GM of RAW. According to her, she's going to bring her own unique style to RAW. Lord have mercy on us all. She then proceeded to put John Cena and Edge in a championship match at Backlash. There's a catch, it's a Last Man Standing match, and it's Edge's last opportunity to regain the World Heavyweight championship.

The brand new Miss Wrestlemania, Santina Marella came out and graced us with her presence. She was interrupted by Beth Phoenix, who challenged her to a match. Santina accepted, and defended her Miss Wrestlemania honor by pinning Phoenix for the win.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, our Main Event. A one-on-one match contested between Mr. McMahon and Randy Orton. Randy wasted no time in brutalizing the Chairman. He was about to punt Vince in the head again, when Shane came to his father's defense. Not wanting to be outdone, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes came to Randy's defense. Then Triple H came to Shane and Vince's defense. In no time at all, we had an all-out brawl going on. But one thing that Legacy hadn't counted on was the return of one vengeful Animal....BATISTA!!! The Animal had returned! He wasted no time in chasing Orton and DiBiase from the ring. He then proceeded to lay out Cody Rhodes with a Batista bomb. The Mr. McMahon announced that Dave would be taking his place in the 6 man tag match at Backlash.

Well people, that was RAW. A great show, with great matches and big and happily awaited surprises. Tune in to RAW next monday night for the 2009 WWE Draft. That's all I got for right now. Thank you for reading Main Event Plaza! Take it easy.

    Wrestlemania 25 Predictions

Friday, April 3, 2009, 06:20 PM CST [General]

What's up beautiful people? Again, I would like to apologize for the lack of review blogs as of late. But, I have taken some time to share with you my predictions for the grand show taking place this Sunday. Let's begin!

Chris Jericho vs. WWE Legends (Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka w/ Ric Flair)  This is a very interesting one. Let me just say this, Jericho has been walking a very thin line since he took it upon himself to insult and berate the legends of this business. If anyone is a hypocrite in this situation, it's him. He used to look up to all of these men! Steamboat, Piper, Flair, and Snuka have a right to be angry, and will channel all that rage into beating Jericho Sunday night. My Pick: WWE Legends

25-Diva Battle Royal  There are 18 divas currently on the WWE roster. 7 divas from the past will join them in the ring to be crowned the first ever Miss Wrestlemania. As usual, in these matches it's about staying alert and focused. I think there are probably 2 divas who I can say I think will win Miss Wrestlemania. My Picks: Mickie James or Natalya

Money in The Bank Ladder Match   In this case, I think CM Punk has a definite advantage. He won last year, and I think he has a pretty good chance of winning this year. I also give some major credit to Christian. I have pretty much discounted Mark Henry from all of this. (Because honestly, Mark Henry climbing a ladder is a miracle not even God can't pull off.) My Picks: CM Punk or Christian

Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker   Wow, what can I say? I don't think I have ever seen a person get inside the head of the Deadman as Shawn has. It's actually quite surprising. He knows exactly which buttons to push. I'm actually shocked to hear myself say this, but I think Shawn definitely has the psychological advantage going in to Wrestlemania. Who knows? Come this Sunday, 16-0 could become 16-1. My Pick: Shawn Michaels

WWE Tag Team Champions vs. World Tag Team Champions (Unified Tag Team Championship Lumberjack Match)  This thing has gone back and forth, so it's a little hard to say who has the upper edge. Both teams have lost, both teams have won. Both teams have a Bella twin. It's very evenly matched right now. But I will say that I like the Colon's style better than Miz and Morrison's style. My Pick: Carlito and Primo

Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy (Extreme Rules Match)  Brother going against brother. Can't say I agree with it, but I definitely understand it.  Matt thinks he has been living in his baby brother's shadow. We all realize that Jeff and Matt both have a ton of suppressed rage toward each other, becauseof each other. Jeff was actually very pacifistic about this, until Matt started bringing up his house, the fire, and his dog Jack. Matt even went as far as to taunt Jeff with a Jack Russell Terrier puppy last week. All this suppressed rage inside of Jeff is going to cause complete obliteration, and I can guarantee that all hell will break loose. My Pick: Jeff Hardy

JBL vs. Rey Mysterio (Intercontinental Championship Match)  JBL just thinks that everybody in Texas loves and worships him. What a lie! He does not have the home field advantage in this situation, Rey does. JBL thinks he's going to make history, well he's not. If he does, it will be by losing in the very place he claims he was worshiped. My Pick: Rey Mysterio

John Cena vs. Edge vs. The Big Show (World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match)  In John Cena's words, Edge and Vickie have taken the World Heavyweight Championship hostage, and he needs to get it back. I couldn't agree more. Not only is this love triangle disgusting, the object of affection is even more disgusting. While Edge and the Big Show will be fighting for the hag, John will be much more focused, and actually fighting for the title. The other two will be way to distracted to even think straight. My Pick: John Cena

Triple H vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship Match)  I do not believe there are words to describe the animosity between these two men. In this situation, it is very very personal. There are lines and limits in place for every action. Orton has repeatedly crossed those lines. What Orton has to understand is that for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction. Given these circumstances, Orton will be more dangerous, and so will Triple H. This will just be the perfect opportunity for all the rage and frustration to be released. But remember this. Just because the fight's over, doesn't mean the fight's over.

Well people, those are amy humble opinions for Wrestlemania. I will be watching it in person from the Reliant Stadium in Houston. For those of you who can't, I will make time to post a blog next monday. That's all I got right now. Thank you for reading. Take it easy.

    Main Event Plaza: Showstealer

Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 10:37 AM CST [General]

What's up beautiful people? Welcome to another long awaited edition of Main Event Plaza! First off, Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! Alright, I know it's been a long time, but I have some time today and I will treat you to a review. I've been very busy, but now it's spring break and I finally have time. Let's begin!

Last week it was announced that Shawn Michaels would team with the Undertaker to take on Vladmimir Kozlov and JBL. We were all wondering whether Shawn and 'Taker could coexist. Well they got along pretty okay. Toward the end of the match, as 'Taker was getting ready to deliver a chokeslam to JBL, Shawn tagged in and delivered some sweet chin music for the win. Undertaker was planning a boot to the face but Shawn left the ring. 'Taker started chasing him up the ramp, but HBK got away. When the Udertaker turned his head, Shawn came back and delivered some more sweet chin music to the Phenom.

We had some 6 diva tag team action last night. The team of Mickie James, Kelly Kelly and Melina took on the team of Beth Phoenix, Jillian and Layla. Throughout this match, I don't think Beth ever tagged out. Might as well have been a handicap match. Santino tried to interfere on Beth's behalf, but instead Mickie James gave him a kick right in the. . .well, you know. Anyway, this allowed Melina to roll Beth up for a pin!

Triple H invaded Randy Orton's home last week. According to Orton, Hunter was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, trespasing, breaking and entering, and aggravated assault. However, he posted bail. This week, Triple H was set to take on Cody Rhodes. Before this bout even began, the other members of Legacy showed up. Triple H didn't care and started to beat the living hell out of Rhodes, before the bell war rung. Legacy tried to intervene, but Hunter grabbed a sledgehammer and they backed away. Triple H then signaled and lo and behold, a steel cage came down from the ceiling. This trapped Cody in the cage with the Game. Legacy tried to get in, but Hunter used Cody as a battering ram to knock them off. He then delivered a sledgehammer shot to Cody for the win.

I've been staring long and hard at Dolph Ziggler because he looks really familiar. Then it hit me. He was Nicky in the Spirit Squad. How ironic. Anyway, he faced Rey Mysterio last night. The match was good, and Rey 619'ed his way to victory! Rey has missed some Wrestlemanias, and he wasted no time in challenging JBL for the intercontinental championship at the Granddaddy of 'em all.

Last week Chris Jericho challenged Ric Flair to come out of retirement and face him on RAW. Ric came to the arena, and informed Jericho that he would not tarnish the ceremony given to him last year. He had found, however, three men that were willing to face him. Those men were Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. They all surrounded the ring, and punched Jericho. He escaped, only to meet Ric Flair, who punched him in the eye. Jericho then challenged Piper, Steamboat, and Snuka to a handicap match at Wrestlemania.

6 of the 8 MiTB match participants were in tag team action last night. CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, and MVP took on Mark Henry, Kane, and Shelton Benjamin. The other 2 participants, Christian and Finlay(and Hornswoggle) were guest commentating at ringside. The match was awesome and in the end, Punk put Benjamin to rest with a GTS!

After revealing Vickie Guerrero's affair with the Big Show last week, John Cena was put in a match with Edge. With Vickie as the guest referee. It all went downhill from there. Vickie added the stipulation that if John touched her, accidentally or not, he would be out of the championship match at Wrestlemania. So we went through with this thing. At one point, John went for the 5 knuckle shuffle, but Vickie got on top of Edge. According to Jerry Lawler, "I bet she's been there before." When she moved, John delivered the move. When he rolled Edge up for a pin, Vickie didn't count. In fact, she just stood there doing absolutely nothing. She even pulled Edge out of an FU. Then to add to the fun, Big Show came down. He and Edge ganged up on John and beat the hell out of him. Edge then speared the Big Show

Well people, that was RAW. An awesome-tastical, fantabulous, scrumtralescent show! Well people, that's all I got for right now. Thank you for reading Main Event Plaza! Take it easy.
