What's up beautiful people? Welcome to another edition of Main Event Plaza! An interesting and rather strange show we had last night. Sarge was in charge and he looked like he had fun. I'll say this though, Canada officially hates our guts. Sgt. Slaughter spent the whole night mocking them and their country, their anthem, their flag, their superstars. Well, that aside, I've much to tell you. Let's begin!
We kicked off the night with the soon to be former WWE champion, Randy Orton. As per usual, he ran his mouth, guaranteeing a victory over John Cena at Summerslam. Completely fed up with his antics, John came out and exchanged a few words with the Viper. He said Orton was all talk and he was very angry and very tired of it. The two men were then interrupted by Chris Jericho (who screwed up later on in the night) and the Big Show. Jericho was bragging about how he was Canadian, and everybody was cheering for him. He also bragged about how he and the Big Show convinced Sgt. Slaughter to arrange two main events: The Big Show vs. Randy Orton and John Cena vs. Chris Jericho.
A Divas Fatal Four Way match was set up between Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Alicia Fox, and Beth Phoenix to determine the No. 1 contender for Mickie James' divas championship. This match was very fast paced, plenty of action. And it was actually very good. In the end, Gail Kim emerged victorious and now has a future title opportunity against Mickie James.
As it would seem, Jack Swagger is still angry because Evan Bourne beat him in the Beat The Clock challenge three weeks ago. He took out Evan last week, and this week, he came back for more. Swagger evened the score, but before he could bask in his glory he was interrupted by MVP. MVP challenged him to a match, and Swagger responded by saying that maybe he would fight Montel next week. MVP then proceeded to push Swagger down on his backside before he left the ring.
There is a saying that goes "Easy come, easy go". Well that proved true last night. Eugene, who admittedly we haven't seen in a while battled "Calgary Kid" in a WWE Contract on a Pole match. "Calgary Kid", who doned a mask, won quite easily and afterwards he removed his mask. Lo and behold it was The Miz. The same Miz who was banned from RAW by John Cena last week. He found a way to worm himself into our lives once more. We were so close yet so far away. Just when I hoped we were all rid of that annoying, loud-mouth, reality show has been, he came back. This must be a sign that the end is near.
I think it holds true that there is nothing better than seeing someone you hate getting beat within an inch of his life by someone twice his size. Per the orders of Sgt. Slaughter, the Big Show went one-on-one with Randy Orton. The match started out great. Show was just hammering away on Orton, giving him a beating. Due to the size difference, Orton couldn't really administer an RKO or a punt to the head. In the end, he backed down from the fight yet again, allowing Big Show to win by count-out.
After his confronation with Jack Swagger, MVP faced The Masterpiece Chris Masters. The match went quite smoothly and MVP was able to pick up a win. However, after the match, Swagger came down to the ring. Distracted by Swagger, MVP found himself placed in a Masterlock. Seizing this opportunity, Swagger started beating MVP, leaving him lying in the middle of the canvas.
Ever since WM 25, The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels has been MIA. But Triple H, fed up with Legacy's antics, came to Texas to find his long lost partner. Hunter found Shawn in the most unusual place. A corporate cafeteria. HBK had decided to work as a cook. My bad, Chef:) Hunter spent a great deal of time trying to convince Shawn to return to the WWE and reform DX. When HBK's boss came in to yell at him, Shawn lost his temper and superkicked him. And, much to my and your delight, Shawn agreed! That's right ladies and gentlemen, DX is back! And they are facing Legacy at Summerslam! There is only one question left unanswered. . . Are you ready?
It seems amazing that after his losing streak to Hornswoggle, Chavo Guerrero has a shred of dignity or pride left. He didn't want to take a risk last night, so instead of finding himself a partner to take on Hornswoggle and Mark Henry, he took a page out of Randy Orton's book and backed out. He took another page out of Randy's book and got Legacy to face Henry and 'Swoggle for him. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase did manage to pick up the win, although that is nothing to be proud of. They then felt the need to address DX. The said that they were more than ready to face DX. Well, that remains to be seen.
I told you earlier that Chris Jericho screwed up last night, now I will elaborate. He thought the camera's were off the air when he said that he wasn't even Canadian, he hated Calgary, and that Canadian women were ugly. Josh Mathews then kindly pointed out to him that they were still on the air. After that little blunder, the match was on and Jericho certainly got a mixed reaction. The same people who had previously booed John Cena were now cheering for him. The match was good, and then Cena locked in the STFU. But just then, Randy Orton, came out. Just for the record, Chris Jericho did tap out, so John Cena was the official winner of that match. Anyway, the Big Show then joined the fun and chokeslammed Orton. In the midst of all the chaos, Sgt. Slaughter came out and performed his final deed as RAW's Guest Host. He announced that next week, Chris Jericho and the Big Show were going to take on the team of John Cena. . . and Randy Orton.
Well people that was RAW. Not your typical telecast. As for Randy Orton and Legacy, I'll just say this, actions speak louder than words. Next week, our special Guest Host is none other the the most powerful fan in the WWE Universe, Freddie Prize Jr. Well people, that's all I got for right now. Thank you for reading Main Event Plaza! Take it easy.
