What's up beautiful people? Welcome to another long awaited edition of Main Event Plaza! I know it's been a long time, but, I'm here once more and will be posting on my usual schedule. For now, much to discuss, so let's begin!
The media had been ravenously following what became known as the "Denver Debacle", which proved exactly how much faith Stan Kroenke has in the Denver Nuggets. Anyway, Kroenke showed up last night to berate the WWE Universe in a Chris Jericho-esque way. He was confronted by Vince McMahon who didn't appreciate being unceremoniously forced out of the Pepsi center. Vince told Kroenke that when you push the WWE Universe, they push back. Which is exactly what he did, leaving the Nuggets owner flat on his back.
Last week, after winning a Diva Battle Royal, Kelly Kelly earned an opportunity to face Maryse for the divas championship. The match was fairly good, Kelly has very impressively improved in the ring. However, sensing danger, Maryse got herself counted out and retained the title.
We had a triple threat No. 1 contenders match to determine who would face U.S. champion MVP for the title. Kofi Kingston, William Regal and Matt Hardy battled each other for a shot at the title next week on RAW. All three men fought hard, but in the end, it was Kofi Kingston who picked up the win. This should be a great and respectable match. Kofi and Montel are friends and should put on a good show.
Ric Flair said he would call out Randy Orton last night, and demanded that Randy fight like a man, which he didn't do. He said that he wasn't going to fight a 60 year old man, and that he wasn't Chris Jericho. Randy did end up attacking the Naitch, but Batista insured that not too much harm was done to Flair. As Randy left the ring, he met none other than Misterrrrrrrrrrrr Kennedyyyyyyyyy.......KENNEDY!!! The Green Bay superstar made his much waited return to WWE and told the WWE Universe that he would soon be the WWE champion. He also announced that he would be the final contestant in the Lakers vs. Nuggets tag team match.
In the mixed tag team match that I am about to tell you about, the stipulation was that whichever team won would also have the right to pick the stipulation for the rematch between Santina Marella and Vickie Guerrero, who, you will remember, is the newly crowned Miss Wrestlemania. So Santino Marella and Mickie James took on Chavo Guerrero and Beth Phoenix. Well Mickie picked up the win, and Santino chose to put his sister Santina and Vickie. . . in a Hog Pen match!
Driven by the obsession with finding a tag partner to be able to win the unified tag team championship, (The) Brian Kendrick teamed up with Festus. Have you ever seen a pair more odd? Anyway, they took on Goldust and Hornswoggle. At one point in the match, Festus was supposed to wrestle Hornswoggle. When Festus saw him though, he looked, as J.R. said "corn-fused". It didn't matter anyway, because Goldust and Hornswoggle picked up the win. Looks like the search continues. . .
Now, ladies and gentlemen, our Main Event. A 10 man tag team match contested between the Lakers (John Cena, Batista, MVP, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and Mr. Kennedy) and the Nuggets (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, The Miz and the Big Show). This match was nothing short of amazing. If all tag team matches were like this one, my life would be complete. A VERY VERY good match. This will probably be one of my favorite tag team matches of all time. And when it was all said and done, the Lakers picked up the win!!!
Well people, that was RAW. All in all, a great show and sweet revenge on the Denver Nuggets. In a metaphorical sort of way. As for Stan Kroenke, to quote Mr. McMahon, he "should be arrested for impersonating a good business man". That's all I got for right now. Thank you for reading Main Event Plaza! Take it easy.
