While I can see we will never come to a common ground on the merits of the original ECW, you are obviously far more knowledgable a wrestling fan than I originally gave you credit for, even when drunk... Please accept my token of fake internet friendship. It would be an honor, Mr Potocky.

By the way, which Sinister 6 story was your favorite? I'm kind of particular to the Eric Larsen yarn that ran from Spiderman #18-23...

I was merely saying that the current WWE has lost touch with what pure wrestling is... The stairs, no matter how long they have been used are not a wrestling manuever. I have not seen a catch as catch can wrestling match out of the WWE since Benoit faced William Regal. ECW had 1 on every show. So what if there were one or two "hardcore" spots in the match. WWE does it all the time, albeit predictably and poorly... I swear you merely watch matches on YouTube, which is not at all an indicator of what an entire ECW Live event was like. Watch CyberSlam '99... I watched the first four matches yesterday, and they were far cleaner, and contained more pure wrestling than I've ever seen from WWE or F... Vince McMahon runs a soap opera, game show circus which has very little to do with wrestling matches anymore. Accept it. ECW may not be AWA or NWA in terms of straght up rasslin', but it sure outdoes Vince's formulaic, predictible matches. He's only got about 5 different matches and repeats them weekly!

ECW fans may be bloodthirsty, but the performers did what they did of their own free will. Why not reprimand Jeff Hardy for taking risks? He "wrestles" far less than Sabu ever did.

I'm sorry ECW performers are not bodybuilding underwear models, thank god, but that makes them no less talented in the ring.

the bottom line is if these wrestlers where not so big in ecw why was it that wcw or wwe offered them bigger and better contracts. do you really think there are too many people that actually began in the company they finished in and never left because they thought they could be bigger than they were. the only person who could actually leave the company he was in and never lose a single fan was hulk hogan when he jumped to wcw from wwe. the whole thing i was saying was that you still need to recognize the fact had it not been for any of them being in ecw with the exception of, steve austin, they would have never gotten noticed in the wrestling world. theres no way you can argue with that when you yourself said that eddie guerrero, rey mysterio, chris jericho, rvd, or the dudleys, were nothing in ecw but still got signed to wwe and wcw i do not disagree with the fact you stated about the old ecw being nothing but violence like tommy dreamer or sandman or balls moahoney or even sabu whom i am actually a fan of, could do nothing but hurt themselves every night to try to get noticed and never really did because violence is not wrestling even wwe and wcw were both smart enough to get rid of there hardcore divisions because they were just stupid. why risk the lives of the guys who make you the money. but i am still an old school ecw fan just the same.

first of all you said that there were no big names in ecw before they got to wcw or wwe.

can u honestly tell me that chris benoit wasnt famous before that he got his nickname (that stuck with him through his whole career by the way) the crippler from breaking sabus neck witha german suplex.

or rey mysterio who was one of the biggest names in the mexican wrestling community.

do you not think the guerreros were famous before wcw or maybe you dont know that name.

before you claim to be a wrestling fan get your friggin facts straight.

    YAH TRICK!

please message me back try to prove me wrong
