On Raw, Randy Orton claimed to be suffering from a mental condition called i.e.d. This condition does not exist. I.E.D. actually stands for "Improvised Explosive Device." It took me awhile, but I finally figured it out. Very clever. For some reason, I really enjoy the character of Randy Orton. His sinisterness reminds me of my own dark side. His music even makes me smile. Besides, he did win the Royal Rumble legitimately, lasting over 47 minutes. Like it or not,he has earned his title shot.
Randy Orton
Earlier today, I was informed by a friend to check out a forum post. The post was a petition to have Randy Orton fired for attacking Mr. Mcmahon. Upon seeing this petition, I started banging my head against the wall, because I could not believe that so many members of the WWE universe are marks. Listen people, and listen real good: ITS NOT REAL! Randy Orton was in character. He was ACTING. Mr. Mcmahon is NOT hurt. The whole thing is a STORYLINE. I thought that the majority of WWE fans were smart. Hell, even Mr. Mcmahon himself said in an interview with bob costas back in 2002 that he thinks only 2% of the fan base think that wrestling is real. I am sad to say that he is wrong.
Fantasy Wrestling Alliance
I am proud to annouce that I am starting the FWA, the Fantasy Wrestling Alliance! Here's how it works: I will write down a fantasy match between two wrestlers, then you the fans will write in telling me who should win. whoever gets the most write-ins wins! The first fantasy matchup is Chris Jericho vs. Bret "The Hitman Hart. Remember, you have the power to decide the outcome!
Royal Rumble
These are my top picks to win the Royal Rumble. To be fair, I will choose two superstars from each brand, One heel and one face.
RAW: C.M.Punk, Randy Orton
ECW: John Morrison, Finlay
SmackDown: Triple H, Shelton Benjamen
WWE & ME
I have had a long history with the WWE. It all started in the early 90's when, like everyone else, I was (and still am) a fan of Hulk Hogan. He was one of my first heros. But there were other superstars that I looked up to. I loved the way Randy Savage would me to "Snap into a slim-jim!" And at school, we would tell jokes like "Your momma's so fat she makes Yokozuna look skinny." Even after Hogan went to WCW, I was a huge fan of his show Thunder in Paradice, and his movies like Suburan Commando(Intersting side note, the UnderTaker actually has a role in this film as a galactic bounty hunter, but doesn't talk because he sounds like a toddler. Watch it and trust me, you will laugh till your face turns blue.) But during the monday night wars I lost intrest in wrestling and moved on to other things. However, in 1999, that all changed. I had just moved to Maryland and was flipping through the channels on my hotel room t.v., when I came across the first ever episode of SmackDown. And I saw the one, the only, The Rock. The minute he opened his mouth, he had me in the palm of his hand, and I was a fan again. Since then I have seen many great WWE moments, including being live at SummerSlam 2005 and seeing Hulk Hogan take on HBK. This year marks my 10 year anniversry of wrestling coming back into my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
