The Best of SNME 3-disc set

Sunday, February 22, 2009, 02:01 AM EST [General]

The past few days I've been watching The Best of Saturday Night's Main Event DVD set. I believe that's one of WWE's very best DVD sets to date. Wow, I forgot just how good SNME was. I can't say enough great things about this set. I loved it. If you have yet to see this set, get it!! What are you waiting for? You're missing out.

I had lost a lot of respect for Hulk Hogan ever since his reality show, Hogan Knows Best, came out. This is the exact reason why I don't wanna meet any celebrities. I always figured that they'd be NOTHING like what I'd want them to be. I'm just trying to save myself disappointment. Looks like I'd be right too coz Hogan seemed really cocky and like an a**hole. Anyway, I gained a lot of appreciation for him again watching SNME. He was awesome. What a showman. Don't get me wrong, Hogan couldn't wrestle worth a damn. He is one of the greatest pro wrestlers ever, but as far as mat skill, I don't think so. But I found myself getting very into his matches. It felt like when I was a kid. I just forgot what Hulk Hogan means to this great sport that I love so dearly. It was great.

The other thing that made me have to create this blog was....Randy Savage. He's on the set several times and I couldn't be happier. Every single match he was in I loved. I, once again, forgot. No one ever talks about him anymore. It's easy to forget things when it's been a really long time, ya know? I've always liked Savage, but thanks to SNME, I'm an avid fan now. I am begging for WWE to put out a 3-disc set for Savage. I would LOVE for it to be his story and matches, but I'll settle for just matches....for now. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you WWE. You've done great work here. I hope everyone gets to watch this set. It's worth every penny....dig it?!?

    TNA

Sunday, September 21, 2008, 09:11 PM EST [General]

I know this will b unpopular w/ some people. I've seen people b*tchin' about how this is a WWE webpage and people shouldn't talk about TNA. Yeah, yeah. I don't care. If ya don't wanna hear about'em, don't read this:)

I LOVE TNA. Their roster is amazing. They have exciting wrestlers, a fantastic women's division and regularly create NEW match types. TNA will b around for a long time.

The Women - TNA is right up there w/ WWE if not more dominate when it comes to the ladies. TNA is innovative. I don't recall women EVER bein' in a cage match, til I watched TNA. They take bumps just like the boys. Nasty ones too. Sick chair shots, bleeding, violent matches. There is no difference between the men and women in TNA. That's not the case at all in WWE. WWE is too worried about keepin' the divas lookin' pretty. F that!! I wanna see exciting competitive matches. I don't care about pillow fights or runnin' around in panties. They look good, don't get me wrong, but that's just a tease. I'd watch a porn if I wanted to see that kind of sh*t. The Knockouts r amazing.

Exciting/Innovative Match Types - Ultimate X, Lethal Lockdown, King of the Mountain, Elevation X, the Lockdown PPV itself, Terror Dome, Monster's Ball. TNA has visionary writers. I LOVE the crazy match types that they come up w/. U just have to see these matches. I won't b able to put into words just exactly how cool they r.

The Men - Abyss is one of my favorites. He is awesome in a hardcore environment. He reminds me of a mix between Kane and Mick Foley. Abyss deserved his World Championship. He is violence personified.

LAX and The Motor City Machine Guns r the epitomy of tag team wrestling. They both can wrestle hardcore, technical, high flying matches. U don't know tag team wrestling til u've seen these 2 teams.

"Cowboy" James Storm is funny and a good wrestler. I love how he finishes his interviews w/, "Sorry, about ur damn luck". In 2007, he and "Wildcat" Chris Harris (Braden Walker in WWE. If u blinked, u missed him. He was in WWE for 2-3 weeks:( ) had an AWESOME Texas Death Match. One of the best matches of the year. James Storm is a future TNA world champion.

The Entire X-Division - "It's not about weight limits, it's about no limits". Beautifully spoken Mike Tenay. The X-division is the corner stone of TNA. The athletes r breathtaking and defy gravity. Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt had one of the greatest ladder matches I've ever seen @ Sept.'s No Surrender PPV. U have to see the X-division to truely appreciate what I'm sayin'.

"The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles - His name says it all. He is my favorite TNA wrestler. Everything that man does is sweet. He's been in some of the sickest matches I've ever seen. Great X, cage, tag team, specialty and singles matches. He has a 5 star match every night. I can't say enough good things about A.J. Styles.

I could talk for days about how good TNA is. I'll stop here coz I got my point across. If ur not watching TNA, ur just depriving urself of great wrestling every week. Gimme sh*t if u want, but u know u were watchin' ECW and/or WCW back in the day. So get off ur high horse and treat urself to another night of wrestling a week.

    Does ECW Need Another Title?

Sunday, September 21, 2008, 01:13 AM EST [General]

I posted a blog very similar to this awhile ago. I posted it to just the people in this group I was in. The group has since disbanded and I want everyone's opinion on this subject matter.

I think that ECW has too many wrestlers to have one championship. It's frustrating to me sometimes. There is amazing talent on ECW. They most definately deserve another title.

RAW has the I.C. Title. Smackdown has the U.S. Title. I think it is perfectly logical that ECW have the T.V. Title. The original ECW actually had a T.V. Championship. So why not the new one.

I never saw the original ECW, but I did watch WCW. WCW also had a T.V. Title. The concept of the T.V. Title is, if u r the champion, u defend the title every time ur @ T.V. Now, that means every Tues. on ECW and every PPV there will b a T.V. Title match. That was the hook of that particular belt. U had to defend ur title against all comers and @ every T.V. program. U had to b good to keep the belt for a long period of time.

If I were a writer, I would've brought in the T.V. Championship around the begining of 2007. I would've had a large tournament to decide who is gonna b the 1st titleholder. I would've had CM Punk win the T.V. Title. He could spend the next few months defending his title in classic matches like I know he would. Then, after a nice healthy title reign, I would have him lose the belt to John Morrison (he was still Johnny Nitro then). Throwing other talent into the mix too, I would have Punk and Morrison pass the belt back and forth for the rest of the year. Then they could move into ECW Title contention.

Finaly, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Tommy Dreamer, Kevin Thorne, Elijah Bourke (where the hell have they been?) and Shelton Benjamin all could make that belt as prestigious as the I.C. or U.S. titles in no time.

What If Hall And Nash Never Left?

Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 01:34 AM EST [General]

What would the landscape of Pro Wrestling look like if Scott Hall and Kevin Nash would have never left WWE? That's the question I've been thinking about lately. This is what I've come up w/.

1st and foremost, I believe that WCW would have remained 2nd rate. I believe whole heartedly that there wouldn't have been a Monday Night War. If nothing else, it would've been a battle, not a war. It wouldn't have been a very long battle either. WCW had some talent on their roster. No one can deny that. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Sting, Lex Luger, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Eddie Guererro, Fit Finaly (Finaly), Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray), Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Raven, Diamond Dallas Page, Rey Mysterio, The Giant (Big Show), Chris Jericho and so on. WCW had a product that people did want to see, but a war, I don't think so.

If Eric Bischoff went ahead w/ the N.W.O. concept, but used other wrestlers, would it have been as successful? No. Absolutely not. The greatest thing about the N.W.O. was that it seemed almost real. Hall and Nash were synonymous w/ WWE. They weren't household names til they became Razor Ramon and Diesel. If they used a couple of WCW wrestlers to side w/ Hogan, no one would've cared. It may have made for interesting storylines, but it would've never gotten off the ground. No one would've turned the channel to watch somethin' like that. They turned the channel coz it really did seem like a hostile takeover.

I don't believe we would've seen the attitude era. No DX, Val Venis, sexual references or wild concept matches to name a few. The attitude era was mayhem on a weekly basis. I think it would've stayed the same one on one matches w/ recycled fueds. If there wasn't a DX, no one would know who the hell X-pac, Roaddog or Billy Gunn were.

As for Hall and Nash themselves, they're the only ones who ended up gettin' the shaft outta anyone. Had Hall and Nash stayed w/ WWE they would still b mainstays in the company today. Hall and Nash would b multi time WWE Champions. The Kliq would have owned the 90's. More gold than they'd know what to do w/.

At the time Kevin Nash left, he was one of only three men to hold the WWE, I.C. and Tag Team Championships. The others, Bret Hart and HBK. Diesel was WWE Champion from Nov. '94 - Nov. '95. That's the longest title reign since Randy Savage's from March '88 - April '89. No one duplicated that til John Cena's Sept. '06 - Oct. '07 reign. That means Diesel had the longest WWE Title reign of the 90's. Who knows how many titles Diesel would have held by today. He would b a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame.

Now at the time Scott Hall left he held the record for no. of I.C. Titles won. Razor Ramon was a four time I.C. Champion. If he stayed w/ WWE I truely believe that he would still b the record holder. I have no idea how many that would b, but I'm guessing alot. I also believe that by today Razor Ramon would have held the WWE Championship on multiple occasions. He would also b a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame. I don't know how his alcoholism would've played out though. It might've stayed the same, not been as bad or would've been worse. I can't speculate on that one. Hell, no one can.

The New World Order was what made WCW win the ratings war for awhile. However the N.W.O. was also what killed WCW. No one knew how to manage the N.W.O. The N.W.O. crumbled under it's own weight. After WWE dominated the ratings again, WCW was washed up. They kept changing management and writers. They wanted to duplicate the success of the N.W.O. so badly that they weren't focusing anymore. They wanted to bury WWE, not produce great wrestling matches every week. U have to focus on ur product, not the competitions.

Had Hall and Nash stayed, WCW would still b around. They would still b a 2nd rate, not up to par wrasslin' company, but they'd still b around. They would still have enough viewers to stay afloat. Ted Turner would still b satisfied coz he wouldn't know the amount of money he could b makin'. Jeff Jarrett would still b employed by WCW so there would b no TNA.

This is the world of pro wrestling that I invision if Scott Hall and Kevin Nash had never left WWE.

    Santino Marella

Saturday, September 13, 2008, 04:05 PM EST [General]

In one of my past blogs I kinda ripped on Santino a little bit. I think I spoke too soon.

When I 1st created the blog, he wasn't so entertaining. I still think that his 1st I.C. Title run was sh*t. Now that he's found out who he is and is becoming more comfortable w/ it, his 2nd I.C. Title should b alot better.

Santino is probably the greatest wrestler out there right now as far as entertainment goes. The unibrow and his butchering of the English language r awesome. Come on, Rodney the Piper or Rey Mastrio; that's comedy gold. How about how he fakes playing the trombone after a victory. I'm smiling just thinking about it.

Beth Phoenix in the mix is great. Her being more masculine than him is very funny. I laugh every time he jumps into her arms. What a great pair.

What do ya think? Gimme ur thoughts.
