Hello everyone! Welcome to My Opinion on Jesse and Festus :

My friend     matster     at :     http://fans.wwe.com/ttab     Requested my opinion on Festus, but there's really not much on him since he's only been in the business for about 3 years, so I decided to add his current WWE partner, Jesse, as well.

First off, for those few of you who don't know, Festus was hired by WWE and sent to it's (then) developmental territory, Deep South Wrestling as Deacon Deville, then later, the Freakin Deacon. He was originally brought up to Raw and given the gimmick of the Imposter Kane, in mid 2006. He made several attacks on the real Kane, which lead to a match between the 2 of them at the WWE Vengeance pay-per-view in June of 06. Here is that match :

Even though the Imposter Kane (Festus) won, he was destroyed, unmasked (without showing his face), and thrown out of the arena on Raw, the very next night. Festus was sent to another WWE developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling, where he woul work with future partner Jesse, on a gimmick as the Dalton Boys, a southern red-neck type gimmick. Before they were allowed to make their SmackDown debut as The Dalton Boys, they were sent back to OVW to be repackaged in the current "Jesse and Festus" gimmick. Excuse me for saying, but personally, I dont care for the "retard" act. I think it's demeaning and irresponsible of WWE. This could truly be a great team in WWE's Tag team division, which has been lacking for a long while. Festus has the size, ability, and skills to accent the arial and tag abilities of Jesse.

Now Jesse is the son of 1 of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time! I know this video is dark in spots, but here is a look at Jesse's dad :

For you younger fans, the late Fabulous Freebird, Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy was 1 of the toughest men to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots. Here is 1 of Terry Gordy's matches. It was in an IWA King of the Death Match tournament, against Cactus Jack (Mick Foley) :


Jesse is a great wrestler, in his own right, from a great wrestler. Together the team of Jesse and Festus could be outstanding, if WWE were to give them the push they need and deserve. Think about it, a powerhouse and a high flyer. Imagine the prospective double team moves. Will they ever drop the "retard" gimmick and get a real push, or wil they ALWAYS be nothing more than a joke, in a DEAD tag team division, that could use ALL the help it can get? It's all up to the WWE. As always, that's my opinion. What's yours?l
