Climbing our way to the top

Friday, September 11, 2009, 10:26 PM EST [General]

As much as I have missed the Universe, absence always makes the Hart grow fonder.

Just recently, we joined forces with our friend, Jeremy Adshade, to bring to you another beautiful photo shoot. (They are posted at WWE.com.)

I had done a dungeon photo shoot with Jeremy in the past, and I loved how his pictures told a story with just one image. They are also a bit abstract, but fun at the same time.  So, I asked if he would mind doing another shoot of The Hart Dynasty.

My favorite picture is of us in an elevator! It's an elevator that is almost a century old. It actually kind of had a dungeon feel to it...which made us all feel at home. Tyson still needs my assistance when it comes to putting the final touches on his hair. I am also amazed at how strong David is...he managed to lift me with just one hand...how talented!

You can check out more of Jeremy's pics at:

On another note... myself, Tyson and David Hart,  have been having the time of our lives.

We had the chance to go back  to Canada last month and perform for our very own hometown.  That was a moment I will never forget. Our family sat front row and screamed their lungs out when our music hit. It seemed like everyone was there to support us.  That's what I enjoy the most about our Canadian fans... whether they like us or hate us, they respect us.

Before The Hart Dynasty made it to the WWE, we had a long haul ahead of us.

We would drive for hours to remote towns across Canada to perform for the smallest of crowds.  It was then that we realized we were following a path that only a few people would have the courage enough to walk down...and we followed it with all of our hearts.

I can't even count how many times we were driving to an event, where our ring truck would break down on an icy road, or there would only be fifty people in the crowd. We were just breaking in, and it didn't matter to us. There was nothing that would stop us from performing and believing in our dream.

When we were able to look out into the audience last month, from a WWE ring, we felt like we had finally come full circle.  It was really an overflow of emotions for us that took us back to our roots in Alberta, to where it really all began.

In Calgary and in Edmonton, there was a sea of people wearing pink and black Hart Dynasty shirts...and waving their Canadian flags. They knew what it took for us to get there because they were with us all along. I felt like my grandfather was looking down and smiling, too...reminding us to keep it real.

Looking back, that's what we appreciate the most...the climb. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

    My roots in The Dungeon

Tuesday, June 30, 2009, 03:18 AM EST [General]

    Hello WWE Universe!

I wanted to touch base with all of you and let you know that the pink and black is here to stay.

Some of you seem surprised at how fast The Hart Dynasty has taken over, but you shouldn't be! The Hart Dynasty is the real deal, and we are the best in the world.

As brilliant as the Dynasty is, we never forget where we came from. On a recent trip to Calgary, I paid homage to where it all started for me...in the Dungeon.

Going back to my roots in Calgary, where the famed Dungeon now lies dormant, brought back a flood of memories for me.

It was more than just a dark, damp room to me.  It's where my grandfather's spirit lies, and all of the people that he trained, who fought for something that they believed in. I have spent countless, priceless hours in that room, discovering more about myself, and what I was made of, than I learned about wrestling. (And I learned a lot of that, too!)

I will never forget what it was like to train there, fight in there, and be a part of something that very few people were lucky enough to take part in. I wouldn't never take back any of the blood, sweat or tears lost in that amazing room. They are irreplaceable.

I wanted to share some special pictures, from a photo shoot I did back in my hometown. They were taken by a friend of mine, who is an up and coming photographer, by the name of Jeremy Adshade. jeremyadshade.com

Jeremy's pictures tell stories and so much can be said in just one photo of his. His assistant Janice, who is an artist, helped to make the shoot more artistic, with all of her extra touches.

My favorite picture taken that day, held the most meaning for me. It's the one where I am looking out the window in the Dungeon. I was able to reflect on where I am now, and where it all began. I can't believe how far I made it...but to tell you the truth, I never stopped believing all of my dreams would come true.

(Who would have thought someone who trained in the Dungeon, would be wearing sequins and stillettos in it?!)

The Dungeon is a lot like Hotel California. You can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave.

You can check out the shoot at WWE.com shortly.

Editor's Note: Just after this blog post was received, it was announced on WWE.com that the Hart Dynasty (Natalya, Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith) was traded to SmackDown, as part of a deal made by former Raw owner Donald Trump.

    Owen

Saturday, May 23, 2009, 04:34 PM EST [General]

Today is a really special day, as it marks the tenth anniversary of my uncle Owen's passing.

It has been ten long years... but it really seems like it was just yesterday he was here.

Sometimes when you lose people you love, you try not to think about them because it's too painful. With Owen, we think about him all the time. We are reminded of what a remarkable person he was, every single day.

I have to say, that I have never met a person, who met Owen, and wasn't touched by him.

Whether it's an old match of his, a story someone is telling about him, a prank he has pulled... his spirit never fades.

Owen reminds me that there really is so much to be thankful for and so much beauty in the world.

    Tantrums, Tiara's and Anvilettes

Maybe it's a little late to talk about WrestleMania, but who can forget walking out and performing in front of over 70 thousand people? Plus, after the show, Kid Rock ended up in the Sharpshooter...or atleast he dreamed of it:)

This was a very cool moment for me, to be part of a Battle Royal at an anniversary WrestleMania, because my dad's first WrestleMania (WM2) was in a Battle Royal over twenty years ago. Looking back, Bret and Owen went nose to nose at Wrestlemania 10 in a brother vs brother match. That fight between my uncles, in that very historical match, proved their passion, perserverance and excellence.

Now for the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, I felt like I took it full circle for my family...I represented the third generation of Harts, and carried the torch my grandfather passed on to his sons, and now to his grandchildren. I did it, and I never doubted I would.

When I started,  I don't think anyone would have ever expected me to make it as far as I did...and here I am doing extroardinary things, every single day. Just competing, performing and entertaining in a ring, with some of the greatest women wrestlers in the world, made me really proud of myself, how far I have come...and how far I am about to go.

Some people go there whole life without ever touching their dream, and I am able to live a dream life almost every day. It's incredible, really.

At Mania, I also sported a necklace, that was a gift from my dad...it is of an Anvil. I remember when he gave it to me, I thought it was really gaudy and tacky. It was huge and heavy and I told him it looked like something a crazy biker chick would wear (no offense to any crazy biker chicks out there)...but then I realized it was beautiful. It's an anvil, dipped in chrome, with a big chain holding it. I thought it would look more feminine, like Chanel, if I put a little pink ribbon into the chain.

I know how much it meant to my dad for me to have this, and I can't believe I didn't like it at first. It's strong, powerful, bold and different! Actually, it's very symbolic in a lot of ways. I don't think any other diva could pull it off, and I am just fine with that:)

...plus, it's a good foreign object, when the time calls for me to be a little nasty. Tyson agrees with me, too. Or atleast he better...

Until next time, I will allow the Universe to unfold as it should...the very best is yet to come.

Pink and Black and shades of grey!

Saturday, February 21, 2009, 02:34 AM EST [General]

Hello Universe! I have taken a little breather from everything to help me recharge and release my inner diva!

The last few months, so much has happened. I also can't believe how much fun it has been over on ECW! I was thrilled to help reveal ECW's newest Superstar, Tyson Kidd...representing the Dungeon and the Maple Leaf!

Tyson Kidd is my best and closest friend from the Dungeon. He has known my family for almost eighteen years, which is hard to believe.  It's inspiring to watch someone's dreams come true... especially when you have watched them fight so hard for something since they were a little kid.

Everyone keeps asking why Tyson and myself are smiling so much...because we know we are the very best!  And besides that, Tyson is smiling because he has cool hair and he has a third generation diva in his corner to help him keep his locks looking spectacular! Divas know all the tricks of the trade about make up and hair, you know! (It seems like overnight, my hair turned pink...must be the new conditioner I am using!)

On another note, many of you have asked me how I feel about Trish Stratus stating she is interested in taking on myself or the Glamazon at WrestleMania. There is no doubt that facing Trish would be nothing short of amazing. Two Canadian women, fighting for everything we believe in, as true athletes would.

I have said it before, but Trish revolutionized the term Diva, and changed the face of Woman's wrestling forever. It would be a battle of the pink and black and even blonde! It made me happy to see that Trish wasn't just judging diva's on a popularity contest ...she was stating who she felt would be real contenders. It only makes me want to compete against her that much more.

I am very curious what will happen this year at Mania for the Diva's. Like Trish, I will be keeping my eye on the Glamazon, too...and knowing that the best is yet to come. She makes me want to get hungry and forget my manners! These women inspire me to exceed all of my own expectations and personal limits.

Until then, I look forward to another night of extreme action and extreme hairdo's on ECW... Chow for now!

    Natalya
