While trying to put my youngest son down for a nap, Hunter, like any two-year old said "no". It was a firm and solid "no" and he was so sure of himself and like any Parent I said "yes". It went back and forth for a while, until finally I gave in and let him stay up a little longer. Of course, he fell asleep shortly after. What I just learned from my son was a precious lesson in Goal Getting. The teacher has now become the student.
Such determination, such passion, with the end result of him Getting his Goal. When a child sets his or her mind on achieving something, nothing gets in their way. NO, is just a simple word, a mere obstacle to get around. NO is not in their vocabulary. It is just a matter of time, persistence and changing the strategy, until NO becomes YES.
What if We were to apply this same mindset to our own lives?
You could achieve a lot more in life. No one would be able to close the doors on Your dreams. The determination and passion would easily drown out any negative answer or feedback. Simply step back and try a different approach, always be persistent and eventually that NO will soon become your YES.
The next time an obstacle presents itself between You and Your goal Remember that NO is not final word. It is just an obstacle, NO is just one step closer to YES. Your YES! Think like a Child, think like a Goal Getter. NO means YES!
Here's to thinking like a Goal Getter!
Talk to You soon.
