While undergoing some Leadership Development I came across a saying that I have never heard before. It went something like this: "Most People Don't Lead Their Own Lives, They Just Accept Them." For Some Reason this little Quote really sang to me.
What I gathered from this little Adage is that whatever life throws at us, We tend to just take it without Question or Reluctance. It's that Good 'Ol "Spit Happens" Mind-set. At times I am Accountable of such; when things don't go according to plan I feel ill-treated, and start complaining. According to the quote above that is what "Most People" do.
The funny thing is, I never, ever considered myself to be "Most People". And I'm guessing neither have you.
We all aspire to be considered as Someone who is both Unique and Original. Perhaps that's just the way We think. Many of Us under no circumstances will ever admit to being a follower but can, without difficulty, never admit to being a Leader. So, if the majority of us are not Leaders, doesn't that make a Leader Unique and Original?
Leaders are not "Most People"; they take what life throws at them and sculpt it and turn it into something they can really benefit from.
The Next time life takes you in a direction that You don't want to go, Be Unique, Be Original, Be the Leader That YOU Truly Are. Remember its Your Life and You LEAD IT.
Here's to Leading Your Life!
