ok... i read a blog by a fellow wwe fan (thanks steve) and he made a must list. the must list is a list of 10 wrestling superstars that you would choose if you had your own wrestling promotion. now first off, i want to say that this is a lot harder than it sounds. i also want you to notice that i did not choose the biggest guys. i am a huge fan of high flyers and i think them alone could dominate an organization. well, i choose superstars from raw, ecw, smackdown and tna. there are two women, two tag teams, three faces, and three heels (these can go either way). with a lot of my wrestlers, i tell about their finishers. this is entertaining! i like finishers that look like they do damage.
1.) melina- now i am choosing the melina as a face. right before she was injured, she turned face. i like melina because she can be either heel or face. she is an incredible athlete. you can really tell that she has heart for this business. she is not here to be the playboy covergirl. she has shown that she can dominate, being the womens champion twice.
2.) natalya- now i know that she is new to the wwe so we still have a lot to learn about natalya. what we do know is that she is a third generation wrestler. she is the daughter of jim neidhart. she has grown up with wrestling and knows the business. she is a very powerful wrestler who you can just tell is going to be in the bussiness for a long time. i think if you are looking for competition, you look for natalya.
3.) LAX- lax, is a tag team that has both the big guy, hernandez, and the "little" guy homicide. these two together are intense, there is never a dull moment when they are in the ring. they are both able to fly out of the ring and take the big guys. individually they have some serious finisher moves. hernandez has the border toss, and homicide has da gringo killa. when i hear tag team champs, i think LAX!
4.) team 3D- brother ray and brother devon have been together as a tag team from the beginning. they know how each other think. starting from the original ecw, then through wwe and now in tna, these guys have been there, done that. i cant even count how many times they have been tag team champions. they are famous for, "devon, get the table!" i love to see extreme and TLC matches! they get the job done. ray and devon are the ultimate cocky heels that, love them or hate them, they bring it all.
5.) jeff hardy- now i know that a lot of you are thinking that this could be a good idea or bad. i know that jeff is a risky choice, but he is the charasmatic enigma, the rainbow haired warrior! he is the supreme high flyer! he is quick and this keeps the match interesting. there is no question that he is a crowd pleaser! with or without the mistakes he has made, he has his true fans! jeff is one half of the best tag team ever! his finishes are superlative! the twist of fate, whisper in the wind and the swanton bomb!
6.) matt hardy- matt hardy is the prime example of never quit! he is unstoppable. he has helped make ecw come back! also one half of the best tag team ever, matt can be just as good by himself. he has the right attitude, the right look, and his fan base is astounding! he has been wrestling since he was a boy. he knows how to grab the crowd and pulls them in! he is a definate main eventer!
7.) evan bourne- evan is still new to the business, but he has more than proved himself. he is a high flyer and everyone knows that i like that. his finisher is one of the best, the shooting star press. the athleticism that evan possesses is phenominal! he is quick too! being a main eventer, i could see evan flying successfully!
8.) john morrison- john morrison, the shaman of sexy! he has the look, and the build to work the championship spot! john started as a competitor on tough enough III. he was the co-winner. he is incredible as a tag team wrestler, but i think that he could work it as an individual main eventer. john is very athletic. he can be a dominate force and high flyer!
9.) mr. kennedy- right now, mr. kennedy is a face. i am using him as either. he is the lovable heel. he is fantastic on the mic and can get under your skin. kennedy can get under your skin! i love his finisher mic check. i think used well, kennedy can bring it!
10.) aj styles- aj is a high flyer and is used in main events. he is "phenominal" he can be used as a heel or face. we know he can do either. he is a crowd pleaser! he feuds well, and can be the lovable funny guy or the tough high flyer! when sparked aj is unstoppable.
this was a very hard thing to do because there are other people who deserve to be in here too. these are my alternates women: beth phoenix, candice michelle, katie lea, victoria, and angelina love. my alternate tag teams are: cryme tyme, motor city machine guns, cody rhodes and ted dibiase. and the rest are: cm punk, jamie noble, kofi kingston, rey mysterio, jimmy wang yang, super crazy, randy orton, elijah burke, finlay and christian cage. you can tell that most of my wrestlers are high flyers!
my tag teams were difficult to do b/c wwe barely has tag teams. there are two in raw, two in SD, and three in ecw. its really sad.
well, i am a little late writing my thought on smackdown, but here it is....
the night starts with the rainbow haired warrior, jeff hardy wrestling for the united states championship from shelton benjamin. the match starts with a quick pace of holds and 2 counts. jeff hardy attempts the twist of fate but shelton is able to get out. i dont know if anyone else noticed this, but shelton benjamin pulled jeff hardys hair this entire match!! every second you can hear the ref shout, "watch the hair!" it was a little annoying. shelton works jeffs back. shelton goes to kick jeff in the stomach but jeff grabs his leg. shelton spins and kicks jeff in the head with his other foot. this move looked awesome. jeff hardy is able to jump on one of the turnbuckles and does a successful whisper on the wind but only gets a two count. jeff trys the twist of fate again, but shelton counters it into a back breaker. that was cool too. another cool move was when jeff was standing on the outside of the ropes and shelton runs and leaps over jeff and it grabs jeff and tries to flips him to the ground with a powerbomb. jeff was able to hold on to the ropes and counters the move into a hurincararna!!!! a little late after they are in the ring, jeff goes up to the turnbuckle to do a swanton bomb, but who should come out and mess that up...MVP! he pushes jeff off. the ref calls for the bell. MVP get in the ring and just like the other times he interupted jeffs matches, he goes to kick jeff in the head while he is down. only this time, jeff moves and MVP kicks shelton. jeff uses the twist of fate on MVP and does the swanton bomb. then he runs across the ring to the other side and does the swanton bomb to shelton too. so jeff won the match, but since it was a DQ he didnt get the US championship.
now we are backstage in vickies room. she is paranoid. victoria comes in to ask vickie a question, but vickie is too freaked. she asked victoria to stay with her.
our divas match of the night is michelle mccool and maria against maryse and natalya! i love natalyas entrance. her laugh and then her saying, "yeah baby". its great! maria and maryse start the match. maryse is able to start strong but gets too confident going to get up on a turnbuckle and showing off. maria asks her if she is ready and if shes done playing. that was funny. maryse tags in natalya. natalya really shows how much power she has in this match! she is strong!!! maria was in natalya and maryse's corner while natalya was standing in about the middle of the ring, and maria crawled through natalyas legs. it was kinda stupid b/c for one, natalya could have easily stopped her and two, b/c it would have been more easy for maria to go around her. it just didnt look good. anyways, maria got the tag. michelle gets the upper hand. maryse pulls natalya out of the ring.michelle goes out and attacks them, bringing natalya back into the ring. michelle was on the turnbuckle and gets distracted by maryse. she hits maryse but this results in natayla rolling michelle up and getting the win.
the brian kendrick....uh....ok, so he's growing on me a little. i still hate his character but you cant say that he is not a great wrestler! he had a match against one of the new guys, scotty goldman. right after the ref calls for the bell, scotty does this weird walk on his knees. it was funny. they were running the ropes when scotty jumps up, brian runs under him and scotty does this weird move where brian runs into scotty's butt. u had to see it. it looked cooler than it sounds. it was a fast match ending with brian getting the win.
the great khali comes down to the ring and says...i dont know...but he stands ringside while triple h had a match with kenny dykstra. kenny starts the match really well. i forgot how good he is! he held up well with triple h. kenny luck changed though by a strong clotheslines from triple h. kenny gets the pedigree and triple h wins. throughout the whole match, triple h keeps looking at khali. triple h wants khali to get into the ring. he doesnt, so triple h grabs ranjin singh. threatning to hurt him, this gets khali in. triple h still was not able to get the pedigree on khali, but he knocked him out of the ring.
the big show had a match tonight against another new wrestler. this new wrestler was ryan braddock. ryan seems like a tough guy, but he didnt have a good night with the big show. the match was over in no time. it ended with that hard right hand to ryans head. the big show wins this match.
the next match was the match i was dying to see!!!!! kozlov vs. FESTUS!!!! oh yeah!!!!! the match was going great!! they were equal. the end up outside the ring where kozlov sends festus into the steel steps. after getting back into the ring, kozlov gets a one count. festus was doing great with continuous leg and right hits. he got a one count on kozlov. festus was doing great until he bounced off of the rope and ran into the battering ram! kozlov got the three count, but he had great competition! FESTUS! FESTUS! FESTUS!!!!!!
well, throughout the night, we see vickie is petrified. she thinks that edge and the undertaker are there. vickie wants victoria to take her to her limo. when they get there, vickie is about to get into the limo when the window rolls down. its edge. what is funny about this is, where did victoria go? she was gone! edge gets vickie back into the wheelchair. they get to the ring and he is crazy. he dumps vickie out of her chair. he calls the undertaker to come out but he doesnt. i guess he is going to have to wait until sunday!
the night starts with one of our original ecw superstars, tommy dreamer. he has an extreme match up against colin delaney. i really feel for dreamer! he wants so desperately for the old ecw. its very sad. i want it too tommy. well, colin comes out but doesnt get in the ring. the ref calls for the bell and colin starts back up the ramp. colin made an unconvincing trip up the ramp, so tommy catches him. they get in the ring. tommy uses the kendo stick as leverage to flip colin. he uses the trash can too. colin gets into it a little with a sign of the top rope. dreamer moves out of the way. tommy DDTs colin on the sign and wins the match.
evan bourne and bam neely are next. bam comes down a little weak from the attack last week from edge. he starts of the match pretty strong. but evan is too quick! he gets up on one of the turnbuckles but he gets distracted by chavo. this gives bam the time to get up and push evan off onto the ground. evan gets the comeback with the shooting star press!!! man he is impressive!!! he gets the win!
armando estrada gets his contract signed! gm teddy long tells him he has a match tonight against finlay!!! i was hoping to see if the claim by mike knox would change finlay. i was hoping to see the man that loves to fight! he comes out with hornswoggle. estrada really wants to prove that he deserves his contract. they both put up a good fight. finlay drives a tough elbow into estradas shoulder that makes my eyes water! about half way through the match, mike knox was standing at the top of the ramp. this was distracting finlay, but i also thought it made him fight a little harder! finlay gets the win for this match. he gestures for knox to come to the ring. mike knox turns his back and walks away. finlay and hornswoggle celebrate in the ring with a young fan!
the last match is the tag team main event. it is john morrison and the miz against mark henry and matt hardy. i thought it was weird that mark henry came out second and then matt hardy. they usually have the champ come out last. but anyways....the match to me seemed like matt hardy was in the match more than mark. i think it was upsetting to mark b/c there was a few times when matt was taking some hits that you could tell mark was ready to get in. miz and morrison were as usual great as a tag team, but they were not able to beat the tag team of matt hardy and the ecw champ mark henry. the match ended weird to me. almost like that was not how it was suppose to happen. before i knew it, the ref counted one, two, three with matt hardy getting the win. it was a little weird. mark got in the ring looking pleased and a smile on his face. he attacked morrison and miz and sent them out of the ring. he goes and helps matt up and raises his hand. and in one swift move lifts him up and body slams him on the ecw championship belt.
okay, i just wanted to point out that matt striker is excellent as a commentator. he sounds like his has been doing it his whole life!!! great job striker!
well, monday night raw.....a few random thoughts about how it went down....
the first match is between beth phoenix and kelly kelly. of course beth had her two back ups....santino and his unibrow. that thing is so distracting!!! i guess it is a no brainer who won this one. beth gets the win! during the match, santino is sitting at the commentators table and after the match he get in the ring to celebrate. he tells beth to make an example of kelly kelly. as she is about to do a move, kofi kingston and mickie james come out and stop them. santino makes a challenge and kofi accepts. santino tells him that he was talking to mickie and she accepts this match in her hometown of richmond, virginia. he tells her that he is "...going to put her back in the kitchen where she belongs." into the match, santino ends up on his hands and knees while mickie hops on his back and rides him in the ring. that was pretty awkward! awkward but funny. santino "injures" his knee. while he takes his knee pad off, he throws it at kofi. kofi goes to get in the ring. this distracts the ref. beth sneaks in and interferes by throwing mickie into the turnbuckle. santino rolls mickie up and gets the win. it was funny b/c outside the ring, santino is doing his crazy celebrations and jumps into beths arms. it was great!
mike adamle asks to see kane. he tells him that he is going to have a summerslam match tonight against chris jericho. (apparently formally known as Y2J) adamle tells kane that after the match he is gonig to find out ehat is in the match! thats what i have been waiting for! he tells kane that school is about to start and he does not want kids to imitate kane carrying around a burlap sack scaring the other kids. lol. that was great adamle!
cryme tyme had a match against...wait....the highlanders? u mean they were not released? yep. they were saved from the releases. i couldnt believe it. after robbie was see in TNA, i thought vince was going to make an example out of him! anyways, they has a pretty good match. JTG gets thrown out of the ring and it looks like he injures his hand or wrist. Shad uses a move called thugnificent. it was pretty cool. its kinda like he sweeps robbies legs out from under him with his own leg and slams him on his back.
they announce randy ortons reinjury. he was in a motorcycle accident where he was thrown around 300 feet. i cant believe that all he hurt was his collarbone. he is a lucky man. i have seen on here that a lot of you dont really think that he got hurt. i think that is silly to say. but, anyways....
JBL and CM punk come out and JBL made a drinking challenge. to win, he had to drink a shot of alcohol. being a straightedge, this went against everything that punk believes. for a minute there, i thought he would drink it but spit it in JBLs face. but he didnt. he just threw it in his face. it was awesome. i have to admit that JBLs mic skills were good tonight. he was comparing punks career to cinderella. he called him cindy. i found this to be humorous!!!
then jericho and kanes match was next. a little way into the match adamle and security come down and circle the ring. kane is continuously distracted until finally jericho gets the codebreaker and wins the match. kane grabs ahold of his burlap sack. it was pitiful. i just wanted to reach in the tv and hug him!!! after a little speech, adamle explains that he knows what is in the bag. he says when he was asking "is he alive or dead" he was talking about himself. kane grabs the mic. he says there is a mask in the bag. but it isnt his!!!!!! omg!!!!!!! he pulls rey mysterios mask out of the bag!!! i couldnt believe it! we were all fooled!! i never saw that coming!!!
next jamie noble and regal have a match. this match was over quick! jamie put up a good fight though! he does this move, i dont know if there is a name for it though. JBL was sitting in a corner, and noble runs and flips hitting JBL upside down with his back. pretty cool!!!! sadly, JBL later knees noble in the head, getting the win.
earlier in the show there was a poll question. something like who we thought was better. cena or batista. i was shocked with the results. 73% said cena, while the other 27% said batista.
cena and batista vs cody and ted finished the night. ted and cody used there rematch clause. of course, cena and batista argue about who starts. batista ends up first. the bell rings and cena smacks batista. this means cena starts the match. at the start of the show, batista made fun of cena's u cant see me. so when cena was about to do it to cody, he walked up to batista, shacking his hand across his face. batista was about to do the batista bomb to ted and cena stops him. while the ref is distracted, cody clips the back of batistas knee. batista goes to make a tag and as done last week just vice versa, batista tags cena in with a slap to the face. ted ends up pushing cena into batista knocking him to the ground. he rolls cena up and cody and ted are world tag team champs again.
raw ends with cena and batista being torn apart by security and refs.
a few randomness about tonights smackdown....and maybe a little out of order.
well, THE brian kendrick strutted down to the ring this week to go up against SUPER CRAZY!!!! well, unfortunately like usual, super crazy was a jobber. he is such an impressive wrestler, but is a jobber. makes no sense to me. instead, they want to make the brian kendrick big. whatever. i liked him before he got this character, but now i just cant even pay attention to his wrestling b/c he is strutting around acting stupid! the match ends with super crazy being distracted by ezekiel, and kendrick gets the 1, 2, 3.
so far, vladimir kozlov has dominated his matches, for one b/c i think all of his opponents have been jobbers. last week he said he wanted better competition. so he came out wanted better competition. then we hear, "biscuits and gravvyyy!!!" i was so excited! i could not wait to see kozlov go up against festus!!!! well, the bell rings and it turns out he is wrestling jesse. i was bummed. kozlov is like a brick. all of his hits and kicks look like they can break you. jesse actually got kozlov down for a one count but it wasnt to long until the battering ram headbutt! i am thinking that he was told that he needs to hold his hands up too now b/c he has been hurting everone with that finisher. so vladimir wins. i hope next week we can see him up against festus!
i hope everyone enjoyed the tag team match with zack ryfer and curt hawkins against jimmy wang yang and shannon moore. unfortunately tonight was shannon moores last match with the wwe. i dont know why yet, but he is no longer a member of wwe. its also sad that shannon was the one that was pinned and lost the match. hawkins and ryder got shannon with a ddt at the end and they won.
there was a six diva olympic tag team match tonight. the divas were dressed up to represent part of the olympics. okay, i think victoria is so hilarious with her clumsy funny character. but i want the old victoria. the dominant scary victoria. where did she go? the match started good with michelle mccool and natalya. then it gets crazy where their are divas flying everywhere. it was good to see cherry get in there, and she wasnt even the legal women. well, everyone ends up outside the ring except natalya and maria. natalya is able to get the sharpshooter on maria and taps. i love the sharpshooter, and it aggrivates me b/c the second it is put on, the girls tap. u barely have time to even realize what natalya is doing. anyways, natalya wins it for her, victoria, and maryse.
i was very anxious to see the indian broken glass arm wrestling competition. its going really good. its pretty hard to tell where its going. they both get really close and out of nowhere, khali head butts triple h. khali knocks over the table, so the glass shatters to the mat. he gets the vise grip on triple h. ranjin singh tells triple h that khali has two words for him. "game over".
okay, the boring match of the night. jeff hardy up against shelton benjamin. ugh....it was so boring. the whole time, all they did was holds. it felt like the match was 30 minutes long. ugh. then jeff attempts whisper in the wind, but benjamin knocks jeff leg out from under him and hurts his injured leg. so shelton works on jeff leg. jeff already did the swanton bomb in this match, but misses. after jeff gets going again, he get shelton with a twist of fate, quickly followed by a successful swanton bomb. before he gets to cover mvp comes in and ends the match by kicking jeff in the head.
and last, edge and vickie. throughout the night, members of the "the family" are being knocked out backstage. they are all left with a black rose. chavo tells vickie that they are next and the only way they are safe is if they get edge. well, edge tells them that he has a plan. him, vickie and chavo get in the ring. edge gets two chairs. hands one to chavo. vickie is sitting in the corner. while chavo and edge are looking around for the undertaker, edge gets behind chavo and hits him with the chair. he flips vickie out of her wheelchair and begins to taunt her telling her that she needs not to worry about the undertaker but to worry about edge! edge has lost it! i cant wait to see summerslam!!!!
