    RIP Andrew "Test" Martin :(

Saturday, March 14, 2009, 09:07 PM EST [Wrestling]

Today, we wrestling fans found out that yet another death has happened in the world of professional wrestling.  The latest was Andrew Martin, AKA Test.  This is very sad. He was only 33 years old, 4 days away from his 34th birthday. So sad. I am sure the WWE Universe remembers his being part of The Unamericans, being a teammate with Albert and having a brand new Diva named Trish Stratus manage them. His character was supposed to marry Stephanie McMahon, but HHH broke that up as you all know.

I never was a huge fan of his. I thought he was limited in the ring, but at times, he could be entertaining.  I am so very sorry that his family, friends, and former co workers have to hear this news.  Also very sad to see another wrestler die before age 50.

SOmething NEEDS to be done.  This is getting ridiculous.  Too many of these talented people are dropping dead like flies. As alot of ya know, Test got fired (the first time)WHILE being HURT. He was recovering from neck fusion surgery and he got canned. What a message that sent.  No wonder these people take painkillers up the wazoo.  These people should not play hurt. I know it is also a football mentality to "play hurt." However, the difference between the prima donna football players and wrestlers is that the NFL stars (and stars in other sports) have an off season to lick their wounds.  Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, and all those guys do not have to play a 60 minute football game 5 DAYS A WEEK or so like WWE Superstars do.  The NFL has a UNION also to help their players out.  Sometimes a Union can be a hindrance like the MLB's players union objecting to drug testing.....look at MLB now with the Roids and such.  I mean, WWE Superstars ARE stars of the tv screen.  Even the ACTORS like Johnny Depp have a union.  I do not see any reason why these people should not have a union for their own benefit.  The body is not meant to work like the WWE Superstars do 4 or 5 days a week.  There has to be something that can be done.

RIP Test and you and your family, fans and colleagues are all in my prayers.

Review of Smackdown and a little Edge discussion

Saturday, March 14, 2009, 12:06 AM EST [Wrestling]

This week's Smackdown was pretty cool. Started off with Edge and Kofi having a very nice match.  Looks like Edge put Kofi over even though he beat him.  The tag champ match was ok. Tired of Miz and Morrison getting the belts.  The tag match with R Truth and MVP was alright. The ladies match was a waste. The Taker/Koslov match was pretty cool.  Glad to see Taker get his win back.  Loved the backstage segment with Edge and Chavo.  Overall, a pretty decent show.

In speaking of Edge, I had a terrible week personally, and just watching Edge on TV twice made me a happy woman.  I appreciate the fact that Edge is on tv for me to cheer.  He made me happy this week. Thanks Edge!

    Raw Review

Monday, March 9, 2009, 11:58 PM EST [Wrestling]

Overall, Raw was pretty decent. I am not liking the build up to Mania, but this show was pretty cool.

Good: Opening segment with Taker and HBK.  Loved HBK's promo in particular.  Taker muffed up his lines, but he was pretty good. Still, keep his mic work to a minimum. LOL

The Contract signing. I enjoyed it.  LOVED Edge's facial expressions. One of the best in the business.  Man, I thought what happened last week on SD would lead to Cena revealing Vickie's affair with the Big SHow while Edge was gone.  Well, the only caveat to this for me at least, is that this may lead to an Edge face turn. I hope not. He is a great heel.  Decent face, but a great heel.

Bad: That last segment.  What on earth was THAT about? I just thought it was a bit goofy.  HHH and Orton should NOT touch before Mania, IMO. Oh well.

Ladies' Match. Your usual chick match.  Not impressed.  I am kind of looking forward to the 25 Woman Battle Royal if just to see which of the old timers participates.

In Between: Ok match between PUnk and JBL. Had that script not leaked, this would have been more of a surprise. Oh well. I believe JBL is a Triple Crown winner if I am not mistaken: World Title, IC Title and tags.  Wiil check on that.

Kofi and Jericho: Ok match.  Of course Flair comes in to interfere by just standing there. Awesome.  Jericho did a great job looking shocked and such.  Now he is challenging Flair to come out of retirement and fight him next week. I am not too keen on this.

Tag match. It was your usual paint by the numbers tag match. Great to see Christian on Raw. He still got it.

Overall, a pretty decent show. I just wish the build up was a lot better.

    Smackdown Review

Friday, March 6, 2009, 11:56 PM EST [Wrestling]

I was not impressed with this version of Smackdown so here goes:

Good:  the contract signing.  It got a bit weird and the last part of Edge's promo made him look stupid. Vickie is going to put the Big Show in because he is WEAKER?  WTF?? However, Edge doesnt write the promos.  Anyway, Vince and Uncreative got to do better jobs on this, IMO.  Anyway, I liked the whole segment pretty much.  The signing could have been better though.  Wonder what Cena whispered in Vickie's ear? Guess we will find out on Raw.  I have a sick feeling what will be revealed is that Vickie had an affair with SHow while Edge was gone. Liked the backstage stuff with Edge and Vickie.

Bad: Just about everything else on the show.  MVP/M. Hardy had a terrible match. Was not that impressed.

Taker's promo:  I don't like it when Taker talks. He is just not a promo guy.

The ladies match was not great.

Umaga (who is evidently ok btw) and HHH was bleh.  I thought that the post match beatdown by Legacy went way too long.

Benjamin and J. Hardy were ok.

Well, I hope WWE realized they have a PPV to sell.  This was not very good at all.

This is not gonna be a good MITB match at least not now: SPOILERS

Thursday, March 5, 2009, 09:31 AM EST [Wrestling]

Every WM, since the inaugural MITB, won by Edge, I and alot of WWE Fans have looked forward to the MITB match.  However, this year's version, SO FAR, does not look good.

Here is the field for the MITB Match so far, again, SPOILERS:

Kane, CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin, Mark Henry, MVP, and Finlay.  Yes, that is your field.  I just think this looks terrible on the surface.  Who wants to see Henry and Kane on a ladder? At least Punk, MVP and Benjamin can work.  I hope they get others in the last 2 picks/qualifiers.

I am just not feeling this match.  I hope it can be somewhat decent, but I don't see it right now.
