Well, here is my review of Raw last night (3/2 edition) from Boston:
Good: Edge/Cena match, especially towards the end. I liked the match. I did wonder why this was given away, but we will see soon in the review. It wasn't one of their best together, but I thought it was a good, solid, match.
Randy Orton/HHH angle. A bit predictible and all, but I liked it alot. Loved Hunter's intensity and his promo work. Randy held his own as well. Of course they had to do the predictable "You can not touch me unless provoked" stipulation, but this was a good segment.
Edge and HBK promos. Functional, but I liked them.
Staredown between Taker and HBK. I am SO looking forward to this match.
Bad: Just about everything else. I could not believe I could say HBK had a bad match, but this was terrible. Of course, he had to take care of Koslov to face, er job to, Taker at Mania. Koslov was awful. If you can not have a good match with HBK (the best ever, IMO), than I don't think you have any business wrestling.
Ladies had a lousy match. Enough said.
Let me get this straight: KANE is in the MITB? Good lord. Just a terrible idea. It is so far, now that ECW is over, Kane, Punk and MARK HENRY?? Good grief. I won't give away the Smackdown spoilers, but this match is looking horrid.
Vickie announcing Show as Edge's opponent for Mania. This is HORRIBLE. Edge deserves a better opponent. As I have said previously, Show so can NOT go 20 minutes. I have a feeling Cena will be put in this match. This is not gonna be the classic match that Mania deservers. Edge vs Show is a "B" PPV Main Event. NOT a Wrestlemania Event. Period

Smackdown was ok. I am glad they are putting more emphasis on the WRESTLING, but the show was just ok.
The Good: Opening promos with Edge and Cena. Loved seeing Edge a bit displeased with his wife's decision to not have him compete. Still baffled why the Big Show and Edge are best buddies again where a couple of weeks ago, they were at each other's throats, but ok. Consistency is not WWE's strong suit. LOL
Cena losing. Didn't lose clean as Edge interfered, but good to see him lose. What I hated a couple of years ago, Cena was booked as Superman and overcame EVERYTHING.. Here, he is showing some vulnerability. Good to see Edge standing over him talking trash.
Tag title switch. Getting tired of Miz and Morrison holding the belts. I don't mind Morrison. Hate Miz. Just annoys me and I don't mean in the "good heel heat" manner. Glad they do not have the belts.
The Bad: Letting Big Show go 20 minutes!! I admit Show has improved, but that guy should just go 10 minutes and that is it. Match became predictable and repetitive as far as workrate/moveset.
Volkov beating Taker. Let me repeat. Volkov beat the Undertaker. I know that they have to make this guy strong, but man......I just don't like it. I know Volkov is being teased as being involved in the Taker/HBK match at Mania (Please. NO) but I just had a hard time stomaching this.
In between: Benjamin/Guerrero match. It was ok. Wonder what they will do with MVP.

Today is the 60th birthday of Ric Flair, arguably the best wrestler ever. Ric has had classic matches with the likes of Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes and so many other. Ric is the best talker in the game and has influenced so many like Triple H for example. He is, of course, known for living the fast life and has been one of the best heels of all time. You could say he is the original "Rated R Superstar," the way he partied with the Horseman, etc. He was great with the Four Horseman and was very versatile. He could wrestle just about any kind of a match: I Quit (Against Terry Funk), Cage match (against various opponents), Two out of Three falls (Steamboat), and even a Ladder Match (Edge). Of course, who could NOT love his "Nature Boy Strut" and the "Flair Flop" and the "Flair Flip" and of course his famous lines: "To be the man, you got to beat the man." and his talking about his styling, profiling lear jet flying, limousine riding.....son of a gun. Can't forget: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Great stuff
He is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time and I hope he has a great 60th birthday.

The show was just ok. It was bookended by the great promo by Orton and the bit with an enraged HHH chasing Legacy all around the arena, and the opening segment with Vickie and Cena and, the Big Show, and who else.......um... the RATED R SUPERSTAR. What a surprise!! :) A pleasant one I might add, as I heard only HHH and Koslov were to be at Raw. I guess that is why the HHH/Jeff Hardy vs Edge/Show match in Santiago Chile went on first and Koslov squashed his opponent in the second match. I figured it was for HHH and Koslov needing to leave early, but I had no idea the Big Show and Edge were in their proverbial suitcases also. :) I was very happy to see Edge. The four guys looked beat, but it is nothing a couple of days in bed won't cure. LOL
Anyway, loved the opening segment and the closing. Everything else in between was just blah. Triple threat was fine. Congrats to Punk. The bit with Noble was silly. JBL and HBK had on ok match. I hated see Koslov squashing HBK at the end. Now, next week, HBK will have to try to carry Koslov to a decent match. Good luck with that one. I had a feeling somewhere that the "family" member would be Chavo. I didn't think Edge or the Big Show would wrestle.
Anyway, it was typical squash by Cena and it did set up the angle where he tries to get a rematch with Edge. The six person mixed tag was just ok. Sloppy.
Overall, an so so show. Just the beginning and end were very good.

Tonight is the Academy Awards, or the Oscars, whatever you want to call them. GO MICKEY ROURKE. I am hoping this actor wrestles the award from his competiton. (pun intended)
Here are my personal WWE Academy Awards:
Best Wrestler: I am giving this award to HBK. He can make just about any feud better. Great feud with Chris Jericho. He did a great job with JBL on that stupid "Shawn is broke" storyline. He still puts on the best matches.
Best Announcer: This is a no brainer. Good ol' J.R. Jim Ross is the best. One of the best ever in my opinion.
Best Face: Cena would be the easy choice, but I am picking Triple H. Love his revisings DX with HBK. Doing a great job as a face.
Best Heel: This should be obvious: Edge. Devious, manipulative, and just evil. I did consider Jericho and Orton (who is on the rise).
Best Wrestling SHow: Smackdown. I know Raw is the main show, but I think Smackdown puts on better matches and all that.
Best Feud: Edge/Taker. They had great matches and I thought it was just awesome. The HBK/Y2J feud was also awesome as well, but I liked the Edge/Taker feud
Best Match: Edge/Taker at One Night Stand (now Extreme Rules). Great stuff. I loved it. Still can not believe Taker took that bump at the end.
(Inspired by my friend Cheryle. I don't know why I didn't think of it.LOL)
Most Handsome Superstar: I bet you all can't guess: Yep, EDGE. I think he is the sexiest man alive as well. Honorary Mentions: Randy Orton, HHH, HBK and Y2J
