    Smackdown Review and some news

Saturday, March 28, 2009, 09:40 PM EST [Wrestling]

Smackdown this past week was just ok.  I wasn't happy with the Matt promo with the dog. The R Truth match was about the best match on the show.  Cena/Show promo was ok. The MITB 8 man tag was ok.  Still don't care about the match at Mania.  Diva match was just there. I was not a fan of Gail Kim's before , and I am not now.  No HHH or Edge on the show. (Edge won the dark match at the taping) I know that they were selling their beatdowns on Raw, but I thought the show was boring without them. JMO

There will be a Wrestlemania 25 press conference on March 31st at 12 noon at the Hard Rock Cafe.  In attendance will be Edge, HHH, HBK, The Big Show amongst others.

Sorry Cena fans, Cena is being ridiculous

Thursday, March 26, 2009, 04:24 PM EST [Wrestling]

I have been thinking about the latest stuff coming out of John Cena's mouth and I am sorry to those who love him, he is being ridiculous.  What I am referring to is his stance that ANYONE who has ever taken steroids or anyone who has tested positive for steroids should be put in jail.

Dude, I can understand his saying he never took roids ala Rafael Palmiero, and all, but saying that A Rod should be in jail is just silly. Maybe it is the Red Sox/Devil Rays fan in him saying that.  I mean, come on. Is he SERIOUS? The guy is just amazing with the stuff he says just like Mr. Kennedy.

I mean, he is entitled to his "opinion" but I am just amazed. I mean, let's face it, there would not be a WWE lockerroom if the Government put steroid users/past users whatever in jail. That is INCLUDING, his boss, Vincent Kennedy McMahon who beat the rap when he was accused by the feds of giving roids to his wrestlers.  I would say the large majority of the WWE lockerroom is either on or has been on roids.  Put them in jail?  Whatever.

I think someone is a bit defensive of being a wrestler and all due to his movie and just wants to make noise for publicity reasons.

    Raw Review

Tuesday, March 24, 2009, 12:47 AM EST [Wrestling]

I think this show featured alot better buildup for Mania.  Show was ok with the 3 minute matches.

Good: Last match/segment.  Puts Orton back into that cold, ruthless heel and possibly puts him up there as the top heel in the company.  Great stuff.

Jericho and Flair skit.  Good segment but the beatdown went on way too long for my liking.

HBK/Taker skit. HBK's promo was awesome. A little over the top with the graveyard and such, but overall I loved it.

    Between so-so and Bad

Just about everything else.  I HATE the love triangle angle they are doing. The match itself was not all that great either, sorry to say.  It isn't Edge's fault, but I don't think ANYONE can have a good match with the Big Show.  Well, maybe Lesnar. However, Show last year came back looking great. Now, he is in horrible shape.  Show does NOT belong in this match. Period.  Not too thrilled with seeing the Champ, first on SD chokeslammed by Show and now knocked out by his punch.  Yeah, they are trying to get Show over as a threat, but really.

The Mickie James vs Santino match was just silly filler.

The tag match with the 8 participants of the MITB match was ok. Finlay siding with the heels? WTF?

    Jeff vs Dolph was blah.

I do feel however, the overall buildup for Mania is much better on this show.  The buildup for this PPV has not been good. I hope the "go home" Raw and Smackdown right before Mania will be good.

An Underwhelming 500th Episode of Smackdown

Friday, March 20, 2009, 10:24 PM EST [Wrestling]

I thought Smackdown was very underwhelming for a 500th Episode.  Just didn't like a lot of stuff.  Here goes:

Good: The last segment with Edge, Vickie, Show, and Cena. That was great.  Cena, in particular, was HILARIOUS.  Great stuff.

Taker vs JBL. That was the only match that had the quality that a show like this needed.

Not gonna say "Bad" here as nothing was really all that bad, but I will say:

So So:  Just about everything else on the show.  Title change should have had more than 5 minutes while the burial of Koslov took 10. Kane and HBK had a so so match.  I see the burial of The Brian Kendrick is starting.  Match with Jeff was ok.

That is about it.  Just thought there should have been more of a PPV like atmosphere for a 500 Anniversary show.

    Raw Review

Monday, March 16, 2009, 11:55 PM EST [Wrestling]

Well, I thought Raw tonight was paint by the numbers and pretty predictable. Just was not that into it.

Good: HBK being brazen enough to tag himself in and then hit Taker with the Sweet Chin Music.

Edge standing tall over his opponents.  Liked the backstage skit with him and Vickie. I do see the two splitting though. Who turns on who is going to be interesting.  Match was alright. They had 5 minutes or so.  Sorry to see Edge in some obvious pain with that left knee that he hurt in that Smackdown match against Hardy, right after NWO.  :(

HHH kicking Rhodes' butt.  That was cool.

Bad: The six man tag match with the participants in the MITB. Boring match. I loved the commentary though with Christian and Hornswoggle and Finlay, particularly Christian.

The predictability of the show.  Everything on the show could be predicted. I just didn't like this show all that well.
