Last Night's "Was there a PPV to promote?" Raw Review

Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 04:44 PM EST [Wrestling]

Gosh, I did not like Raw last night. Overall, it was just horrible. I thought the wrestling was not great. No Orton. No HBK. The Main Event was pointless. Nothing on the show made me want to even CONSIDER ordering the PPV. Thank goodness I will be going to a friend's home and watching it. If that can't happen, I will follow online. Just stupid if you ask me. The announcing was terrible also. I like Haas' gimmick, but it is getting old.  Santino was the best thing on the show.  I paid more attention to the Pats game. I should have done what I usually do: Go to the sports bar nearby and tape Raw. I don't know why I didn't. I should not have lost faith in my team. *slaps hand*  Anyway, just did not like Raw too well.  It does look like Jericho will retain though.

    Ric Flair not done yet?

Monday, October 20, 2008, 02:27 PM EST [Wrestling]

Well, I have been reading online that Flair may NOT be done with "walking down that aisle" yet.  He has gotten that "itch" again and has gotten offers from Japan and elsewhere to wrestle. However, what is holding him back is that he promised HBK that he would be his last opponent, and would consider his (HBK's ) feelings. I don't know. I had a feeling that Flair would want to get back in. These guys never "retire" legit.  I do not know how I would feel if Flair un retired, like the Sandman did.  I wonder why that was the reason his induction ceremony did not sell out.  Maybe people did not believe he really would retire.  If Flair comes back as an active wrestler, I would wonder, if I were WWE, why did they put all that effort into pushing his retirement and giving him that sendoff.  HBK, I am sure, wouldn't be happy either, after all, he suffered a rib injury in that match also.  If these reports are true, it sounds like we got another Brett Farve here.

My Favorite Wrestlemania (and an Edge update:) )

Sunday, October 19, 2008, 11:02 AM EST [Wrestling]

Well, nothing really much going on to talk about so I thought I would talk about my favorite Wrestlemania of all time.  It is Wrestlemania 17.  I love that PPV alot. Everything on the show was booked just perfect, and the matches were awesome. It has my favorite Austin match: Austin vs the Rock for the WWE Title NO DQ. Man, that was an awesome match.  Yes, I know fans and the wrestling writers like Austins Mania 13 match with Hart better, but I love this match better. Great action and I had NO idea Austin would turn heel and side with , as JR says, "Satan himself," Vince McMahon who interferes on Austin's behalf. Man, I didn't see THAT coming. Hilarious.  Great stuff.  I loved the McMahon vs McMahon Street fight. Very cool. Loved seeing the semi drugged or whatever Linda FINALLY wake up and give Vince the low blow. Funny stuff.  I think Trish and Steph had a catfight in the middle of the match, IIRC.  Kurt Angle had a cool match also. I loved the TLC match as well. That was a neat match. Jeff Hardy did an insane move off the ladder.  Edge did too. I believe a spear off the ladder into, I think Jeff who had his hand on the belt. Scary. LOL  Overall, my favorite Wrestlemania. Just loved it.

Saw a recent photo of Edge at the FCW show signing autographs. He looks great.

Some hope for me to see Smackdown :)

Thursday, October 16, 2008, 09:52 PM EST [Wrestling]

I have been reading some POTENTIAL great news.  I have been reading that MyNetworkTV is in negotiations with my local tv affiliates in Lexington, KY where I live where we don't get the station and thus, no Smackdown, to try to get Smackdown to Lexington. I would be ECSTATIC.  I HOPE it happens so I get to see the Smackdown Superstars. :)  It is kind of a pain going to Youtube and stuff. One of my friends is taping it for me and stuff, but I will be behind the storylines and stuff..

    Keep your fingers crossed. :)

    Raw Last night (Knoxville rant)

Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 04:54 PM EST [Wrestling]

OMG, Raw was not very good last night. Just a boring show, IMO. Nothing stood out very well.  The only things I really enjoyed was HBK's interrupting Y2J and seeing Batista screw Jericho. Even Jericho's promo was cool.  HBK had a rare boring match. The crowd had no idea who to cheer for since they booked two huge baby faces against each other. Good going (un) creative!  The huge highlight for me in the entire show was when during the John Cena promo/video or whatever for Mr. Cena's return (I can't wait. At least we will have someone exciting to watch to get the crowd excited. I like and respect Cena. Not a big, big, fan, but I like him.), when they were showing the Superstars/Divas commenting on Cena and lo and behold, guess who they showed during the promo? Yes, they showed the RATED R SUPERSTAR. It was a clip of Edge from the John Cena DVD (another site posted still shots from that DVD so that is how I knew where it was from.).  I was like, "They are acknowledging his existance. After all, he is supposed to be selling "being in hell."  That was the highlight for me.

I loved Santino, until he had to get that Johnny Knoxville from **** in the ring and here is a rant:

What is the purpose of this guy being on the show? What is WWE trying to accomplish here? The whole Knoxville segment with that stripper guy and the Boogeyman (oh wow. big return there!) and all that was embarrassing. Just a terrible segment. This is why fans are losing interest in WWE and their product. This reminds me of the 1990s where they had characters like Doink the Clown to make fans turn the channel. Look at the characters they have now: Knoxville, Hornswoggle, Khali, etc.  Do you really want to tune in and watch that?  I know they want to make it PG and be family friendly but come on. This is just nuts.  Your main demographic is male and age 35 and you are creating characters for 10 year old kids.  Just plain silly.  I just hated that Knoxville segment so much.  What a waste of a segment where they could have had, Oh, I don't know....a WRESTLING MATCH.  What a concept.
