[General]
As alot of us know, John Cena had surgery to correct a neck problem that has been bugging him for a few months. He is expected back in 2-4 months. That is good to hear. I am not a huge fan of his but I admire his work ethic and I have met him several times and he is an awesome person and I am glad he takes time to meet fans despite his VERY BUSY schedule being the top star in the company. Get well soon John.
Ken Kennedy is going under the knife for his shoulder which did not respond to the therapy unfortunately. :( Poor guy. He has had bad luck with injuries, hasn't he? Will be out 4-6 months. Will miss his, "Misteeeeeeeeeeeeeer Kennedy (PAUSE) Kennedy" schtick. Good luck and get well soon.
Well, several Superstars have been working through minor injuries as they do not want to take time off and lose their top spot such as Taker, and HBK, and Cena. Well, so has my beloved Edge. That is why he has been doing promos and rarely wrestles on Smackdown. He has been in constant pain and has now taken a few weeks off to heal up and to sell the HIAC angle so he does not lose his top spot. He deserves it and I hope he takes all the time he needs. I miss him but I don't want him to be in pain. I know these guys are always in pain, but I want him (as well as the others) to take care of himself first. He has his whole life ahead of him. GET WELL SOON EDGE! You are in my thoughts and prayers always!!! :) Love ya.
This is why I have always thought there should be some sort of off season for these guys and gals. Just like the NFL, MLB, and NBA and NHL players. I know there are PPVs and network tv, but I just think there has to be some way these guys and gals can have SOME TIME OFF from the road and stuff to heal their bodies. I just think maybe all of them should have an allotted time off and the angles can be written accordingly. Maybe these people would not go to pain killers and other stuff if they had an off season or got time off or be afraid of losing their spot .
In speaking of the NFL, I have to say this, at least Cena and Edge and Kennedy are taking care of themselves unlike this idiot linebacker, Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers (sorry Charger fans, including Edge, but this has to be said). He was told by , not one, not two, not three, but four, yes 4, FOUR freaking doctors to have SEASON ENDING surgery on his torn, yes TORN PCL AND LCL in his freaking knee and the moron is going to IGNORE their (including Dr. James Andrews who has operated on just about every WWE Superstar there is) advice and PLAY THIS SEASON. Now how stupid is that? The stupid Chargers and their idiot team doctors are gonna let him too. Evidently, they only give a **** about one thing: Winning a danged Super Bowl. I admit, this is a very talented team, arguably the most talented team in the league....that is why I call them the most OVERRATED TEAM in the league.....they have all that talent and run their yaps, but have NOTHING to show for it. (Where are their rings? At least the teams I follow have rings.) Evidently, they are going to risk their most talented linebacker's health and career (if he plays, he could risk ending his career) to try to go all the way to the Super Bowl. Well, if he is carted off the field if/when that PCL or LCL or if one of the other ligaments snap off and his career is OVER, I hope it is worth it for him and the team.
First off, don't forgot that Raw is on SCI FI in a few minutes. You can catch the replay on USA at 11pm EST also.
This will be short. Just want to wish a Happy 59th Birthday to the God Of Thunder, GENE SIMMONS of THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD........KISS!! I have been a fan for 31 years and counting and own alot of their albums. I have seen them 46 times, in the US, Canada, even seen Paul Stanley in the Phantom of the Opera in Toronto (Edge's neck of the woods), and Australia. There is nothing like seeing KISS in concert.....especially at NYC's Madison Square Garden.
Several current and former WWE Superstars are KISS fans like me such as Edge (since age 3), Christian, Stone Cold, Big Show, Taker, Balls Mahoney, and Chris Jericho (loves Paul Stanley).
Well, as alot of you know, both brands will have a Championship Scramble at Unforgiven. I am not so sure I like it. I know that according to the rules, the pins do not count and the "real" champion is revealed after the 20 minute time limit but I just feel this scramble gimmick devalues the title. I guess I am too much of a traditionalist, but I think the title should be decided by ONE pinfall or ONE submission. I don't like the idea of "temporary" champion. I mean, it is like so and so pinned so and so but it doesn't count. Just silly to me. I do not see why they could not have had two 5 man matches for the titles. I really do not like this idea.
Happy Birthday to Funaki (40) and to WWE Chairman Vincent Kennedy McMahon (63)!!
This blog was inspired by a message I got from someone. I thought the message did not warrant a response, but at times, sometimes it is good to turn a negative into a positive so here goes. I was asked why do I like Edge. The person who wrote me thought that Edge was a (his words) "loser." Well, here is why I love Edge so much:
He is a great performer in the ring. I really enjoy his work. I have followed his WWE career since 1998 which is when I started watching wrestling. Through tapes, DVDs, and the 'net, I had to do alot of research to catch up on alot of the other greats in the business prior to 1998, but 1998 was when I started watching the product. Watched him grow from a member of the Brood with his boyhood friend Christian, and Gangrel, and then watch him and Christian become one of the best tag teams in WWE. Of course, now , I see him blossom into a great singles star and a great 5 time (and counting) World Champ! :) I think he is one of the best heels in the industry, if not the best heel right now. Watched him struggle through countless injuries to fight to the top. The only two wrestlers I like better than him are HBK (my all time favorite wrestler) and Hunter Hearst Helmsley (#2)
As far as the person who wrote me calling Edge a "loser": let's see, Edge is living out his dream of being a pro wrestler. I would like to know what the person is doing with HIS life? Hmmmmm.
Anyway, I also think he is a great guy too. I have read quite a few interviews with him and met him twice. He is a sweet , docile guy and is awesome with his fans. Just love him to death. Is he a perfect human being? Of course not. We fans all know that. However, NEITHER ARE ANY OF THE SUPERSTARS on the WWE roster so do not pretend your favorite is perfect because they aren't. Of course, he is easy on the eye, but that is not that important to me.
Edge still reeks of awesomeness all these years and that is why I love him so much.
I LOVE HHH and Taker and alot of the newer guys, like Kendrick and MVP, but I miss my Rated R Superstar. The show just drags without him and all. I know Edge needs a break and is selling the "injuries" and "being in Hell," and I , as his devoted fan understand, but Edge, HURRY BACK!! I also do not like the Scramble for the title on either show. It devalues the title. Just a stupid idea if you ask me. I really do not like the idea that someone can hold the title for 5 minutes, then drop it , then someone else can hold it, then the same person theoretically can win it. Just silly.
