Mick Foley Pulled From SummerSlam
Mick Foley had told friends that he would be appearing at SummerSlam a couple of weeks leading up to the pay per view, reports ProWrestling.net. The original plan was for Foley to appear on the show as part of the Edge/Undertaker match, but the idea was scrapped for an unknown reason. Foley was told the week of the event that he wouldn't be needed.
Foley's contract expires this month and although something could always happen between now and then, it seems like a lock at this point that Foley will not be renewing his contract.
Quite a few people are speculating that Mick will head to TNA, and that Vince wants to lessen his name value as much as possible before jumping ship.
Stone Cold Steve Austin Returning At Cyber Sunday ?
Steve Austin is being advertised to be making a "special guest appearance" at the WWE Cyber Sunday pay-per-view on Sunday, October 26, 2008. WWE Cyber Sunday will be taking place at the U.S. Airways Arena in Phoenix. You can see the listing for the event at this link.
Austin appeared at last year's WWE Cyber Sunday pay-per-view, acting as a special guest referee for the World Heavyweight Championship match between champion Batista and Undertaker.
The advertisement on the U.S. Airways Arena site has the ticket sale date messed up with the ticket sale date being advertised for September 23. The WWE website states that the tickets actually go on sale this Saturday on August 23rd at 10am.
Obviously there is no guarantee Austin will be appearing on the pay-per-view, however if WWE have booked him for an appearance, they will be using him on the show in some capacity.
Mike Adamle Wrestling Debut Soon?
24Wrestling.com can confirm that WWE actually has plans for RAW General Manager Mike Adamle to wrestle soon. Adamle recently hired a personal trainer in Chicago who works with a number of top athletes because he was told to get ready to wrestle in the near future.
Adamle does have an athletic background as he was a very good NFL player at one point, but that was quite a while ago.
Gail Kim Jumping Ship To WWE?
ProWrestling.net and PWInsider.com are both reporting that Gail Kim seems to be headed back to the WWE.
Sources inside TNA have said this came as a pretty big surprise and although most people knew they were renegotiating her contract, they assumed she would definitely resign with the company.
As of the last television tapings last week, there were no farewell parties and she wasn't saying "Goodbye" to anyone in the back. One source said that Gail "wanted guarantees TNA was not willing to give".
On the WWE front, they have apparently changed the trademark on Kim from inactive to active. PWInsider.com is reporting that they offered her a sizable increase in pay to come back. She is free to begin working there as soon as her contract is officially up and you can bet that if she does in fact return, she'll be pushed pretty heavily in the women's division.
Other sources have said that Kim left TNA on very good terms and the door is "always open" for a return in the future. This was more due to financial reasons than Gail being unhappy with the company and the way she's been used or presented on TNA television.
Kim's last TNA match is scheduled for tonight's Impact! in a street fight with Awesome Kong.
Backstage News On Gail Kim, Kim Left TNA Cause Of Money Issues
Reports indicate that Gail Kim can start anytime with WWE as her TNA contract has already expired. She met with WWE's John Laurinaitis in Tampa yesterday afternoon. Then, she attended the Florida Championship Wrestling tapings last night and received a great response from the crowd on hand.
Gail's decision to leave TNA for WWE is reportedly due to financial reasons and not because of any unhappiness with the way she was being used. Apparently, WWE offered her money she simply couldn't refuse.
Goldberg Returing To Wrestling But Not With WWE or TNA, Where Will Goldberg Go?
During an appearance on The Fight Network Radio today with Mauro Ranallo, Bill Goldberg stated he was training to make a comeback in pro wrestling and hinted that it would NOT be with ...WWE or TNA. He noted that he had stopped training a few years back when his son was born and was now back in the gym and is interested in a one-shot deal for another match.
If he does return to the ring, it would likely be in Europe for the NWE promotion. Japan is also an option.
My Opinions
I think Vince McMahon trying to lessen Mick Foley's name value is a smart move cause WWE could lose more viewers to TNA but i think Foley's name vaule will never decrease because Foley is a legend. However WWE should have stuck to their plans and used Mick in the Hell In The Cell Match cause it could have led to Edge Vs Mick Foley match before Foley leaves to TNA.
On Stone Cold Steve Austin comming back to the WWE at Cyber Sunday, now this could lead to somethink very good for the WWE and Austin. Note above Mike Adamle is training for a match and also note Austin was considered for the new WWE GM and with Vince out of the way cause of his fake injury this could lead to Mike Adamle being in a match at Cyber Sunday for the GM control with Austin comming back to defeat Adamle and become the new GM of RAW. Then Vince would come back and try regain control of RAW which would restart the McMahon-Austin Feud which would end in a match at WrestleMania 26 which is in Texas, this would end the McMahon-Austin feud with Austin winning and then retiring. Of course this probably wouldn't happen :(.
Mike Adamle is training for a wrestling match, oh god that is going to be worse than Khali but i'm gonna wait to see what happens hopefully he wont be too bad cause i think that would make a sucky match but if he can be like Coachmen then i think it would be quite funny.
On the whole Gail Kim situation, i just think WWE have signed her to rub it in the face of TNA, i mean WWE hardly used Gail Kim when she was with the WWE and now i think its just because WWE want to show TNA that most wrestlers would perfer to be with WWE than TNA. With Gail Kim wanting more money i just think she dont deserve more money at the moment but she will probably be pushed stright into the title chase.
Now Goldberg is finally training to get back into wrestling, now i can't see him going to TNA cause Goldberg has said TNA blows and i can't see Goldberg going to WWE cause he didn't like the way he was used within the WWE and i think he basically hates Vince McMahon, so it looks like Goldberg will go to wrestling promotions within japan or maybe europe if he doesn't find another promotion within the USA to go to.
Thats all for now.
I will report more news when more news comes up.
see ya for now.
Kane.
