No Way Out is in the books, you know “the books,” and “My Tazz,” MyNetworkTV’s biggest star, and I are back from the Pacific Northwest after a couple of days in Seattle and two days in Portland. It was an interesting road trip to say the least, and I usually don’t … say the least that is.

In case you haven’t heard, Edge, who still works for his wife on Friday Night SmackDown, is the new World Heavyweight Champion much to the chagrin of the ubiquitous John Cena and the Raw Universe. WWE HOF’er Bobby “The Brain” Heenan has been called “Weasel” in the past, but I’m sure “The Brain” would be willing to loan Edge the “Weasel” moniker as that is how the Ontario native became an

Happy Holidays to all from under the custom-made, black hat from WWE’s resident BBQ aficionado/restaurateur who has yet to spend one minute shopping for the holidays.

Sunday was a great night for the Hardy family in general and specifically for the new WWE Champion Jeff Hardy who most likely is the first WWE Champion ever that has not only designed his own ring attire but also actually sewn his own ring attire. Jeff winning the main event, yes I said the main event, at Armageddon Sunday was one of those “moments” that will stick with many fans, including yours truly, for a long time.

The state of New York has had more WWE Title changes than any other state, but this one was a first for the city of Buffalo which has a rich, wrestling history including the likes of such

From the land where people love’s J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q Restaurants more than they adore Olympian Michael Phelps, your resident Okie has a weekly helping of SmackDown and some delicious “side dishes” for your sports-entertainment taste buds.

Raw’s John Cena and Batista are now not on the other’s holiday card list. There’s a significant physical confrontation between these two this Sunday at the 21st SummerSlam. This one won’t resemble a Funk vs. Brisco mat classic from the 1970s, and my best guess is that we are going to see a slobberknocker of a brawl along the lines of those of yesteryear in my hometown tavern on a payday Friday night.

Prediction:
I’m taking Batista and the points.

CM Punk, who is World Heavyweight Champion

Random thoughts from under the custom made black hat, after a busy three days that were good, especially considering that I never had to board one airplane. Other than the Mrs. providing me the occasional assist with my driving, and not understanding why I needed a Whataburger stop at midnight coming back to Norman from Dallas Sunday night, this was the most enjoyable few days of travel yours truly has experienced in a while.

The Night of Champions was a really solid pay-per-view in Dallas, and the huge, sold-out crowd in the American Airlines Center (not Arena) didn’t hurt a thing. It has been said many times in my ramblings over the years that a hot, live crowd can make a good show great – and a great show a lasting memory.

Working my first PPV with Mick Foley was fun and

Ah, the times they are a-changing – and upon further review – for the better.

This Friday night will be my first broadcasting voyage with my new partner, Mick Foley, and I am looking forward to watching the airing of Friday Night SmackDown with great anticipation. Mick is one of my oldest friends in the biz, which as most vets will attest, is a business where a guy can count their bonafide friends on one hand – which is akin to most forms of sports and entertainment. Mick Foley is a great human being, a bestselling author, a legit Hardcore Legend and a student of the game. Not a bad combo for this Okie to deal with I assure you.

Upon getting drafted my reactions were one of shock and surprise. I was never disappointed about coming to Friday Night SmackDown as I am a
