    Wrestlemania

Friday, February 27, 2009, 03:50 PM EST [General]

Well, I no longer have Shawn Michaels and somehow now I don't get to wrestle Undertaker at Mania. Well, I still believe I am destined to do something great at Mania so-tune in Monday Night and you will see my plan start to unfold.

So when did the government start giving out free pizza? They have done everything else. At some point they are going to have to quit spending so much money. The new administration disliked the old one's fiscal irresponsibility, well they have taken it to a new level.

There is $200,000 for tattoo removal in the new stimulus package-why is the person who put this in the stimulus package not going to jail. If we were dishonest to the government, we get in trouble-but if they do it, it is just called 'pork'. Unreal.

Really sad to hear abou the events regarding Mr. Gagne. I really wish him, the other family and his family the best in the tragedy.

I am setting up shop in Nashville with our new distribution company, you can see our products at www.layfieldenergy.com or Amazon.com we are partnering with Fox 17 there and really enjoying my time with the legendary Charlie Chase and Kelly Sutton every Thursday morning.

Kellly was very selfish and will miss part of the spring while having a baby, she really needs to think more of Charlie and I.

Big news this week that my wife has started up her own Wall Street firm, I am now working for my wife-didn't think that would happen, but I am happy. We are looking forward to building a firm that will rival the biggest and best on Wall Street. After all, what else would you expect from JBL?

Got a new venture to bring up next week, but it won't be up and running till Monday. I will keep you posted.

My Thoughts on A-Rod and Baseball

Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 07:26 PM EST [General]

OK, so Shawn Michaels went from being my dancing monkey to Mickey Mouse, but hey, at least I was kind enough to say I would offer other members in his family employment in my company. I thought that was very nice of me. I am looking forward to Sunday and No Way Out, unfortunately, Shawn probably is not.

I am just going crazy with all the ideas of franchising the great name of "Heartbreak Kid", wow, what a gold mine.

So Alex Rodriguez took a banned substance, does that surprise anyone? Now, I have to be clear-I am 100% against steroids, 100% against drugs. I am thrilled that WWE is a leader in testing. I don't say that because I work for them, I say that because I am thrilled that the temptation to take drugs to look better or perform better was taken away by WWE's strict drug policy.

I also want to say I am 100% for testing in college and even high school. I think the problem with drugs is something that has to be stopped, or at least curtailed. I know you can't stop it, but you can sure make it harder and make it where it is not acceptable or legal.

I am very glad that when I was trying to get back into shape to make a return to the ring that drugs was not an option, because if it had been an option-I would have been tempted to go to a doctor (which you can do easily at my age) and get a prescription for testosterone or other drug and take a short cut. Because, getting into shape after getting so out of shape was tough, and still is. Taking the option of drugs out of the equation was a great thing the WWE did.

On a side note, this is why I developed Layfield's Energy Plus no Pain-because I needed something to help me that was natural. You can buy it at www.layfieldenergy.com, Amazon.com and Vitamin Shoppe. You can also see the pics of my weight loss at www.layfieldenergy.com. Most of the guys in the WWE take this stuff because it is that good; imagine what it can do for you as well. It is a "shot" that has strong natural anti inflammatories in it that makes you feel better and feel like living a normal life; I lost almost 100 pounds because it allowed me to return to the gym and workout again.

However, it is for everyone that needs to feel better, have more energy and have more focus and doesn't want to take drugs to do it. I have invented, in my opinion, the fountain of youth.

Now, that I convinced you that you need Layfield Energy-back to A-Rod.

A-Rod didn't break baseball's rules. Baseball is at fault for creating an environment that allowed this to happen. WWE and the NFL didn't let that environment exist, and I think that has saved lives. Baseball turned a blind eye to it until recently.

Think about this-after the stupid strike that almost ruined baseball, fans were indifferent to the game. Along comes Sosa and McGwire in a historic home run race that brought tens of thousands of fans not only back to the game, but to batting practice! These guys brought fans back to the game. Allegedly, they took steroids; however, it was not against the rules. And, if they went to a doctor they got them legally, if in fact, they did take them.

How can you fault someone for doing something that is not against the rules (if in fact, they did do it) and is legal? Are you telling me Babe Ruth wouldn't have done that? Of course, he would have?

Baseball is at fault. These guys took stuff that wasn't against the rules and if they got it through a doctor was not illegal. How is that wrong? I believe it wasn't.

Now, if you take it you are cheating because the rules now prohibit it. I am happy for that, I think they should test. However, I am not so hypocritical to vilify these guys for doing what was legal. Baseball should devote a wing in the Hall of Fame to McGwire and Sosa for saving the game.

Some argue integrity of the game; you got to be kidding me. Integrity, how many of the guys have been busted on drugs and aberrant behavior? And, the only people you choose to vilify are guys who didn't break the rules? This is political spin at its worst. The head honchos in baseball loved the long ball, it brought fans to the game, I would argue that they allowed this to happen through their complacency. Now, they want to pass the heat.

A-Rod stood up and took responsibility for doing something that was not against the rules and he is called a liar and cheat. Baseball has not stood up and admitted that they allowed this to exist, and I would argue-by not testing, encouraged it.

A-Rod mentioned that the environment back then was such that this behavior was acceptable. This is true, because the environment of wrestling when I broke into it was the same. The movie "The Wrestler" was very accurate to portray the business I started in, it was a different world then just as A-Rod stated it was in baseball.

But as North Dallas Forty was indicative of the NFL before the drug testing was initiated, so was "The Wrestler" indicative of professional wrestling before drug testing. And, the environment A-Rod talked about truly was different as well from what I understand.

Talk about change, I have been tested for drugs, AIDS, high cholesterol, concussions; you name it in the past 6 months alone. WWE has made sure it has created an environment that is healthy, just as the NFL has done and baseball started doing a few years ago. I think all of this is great for the sports and for entertainment.

But, please, someone place the blame where it belongs-baseball is at fault here for what happened, they allowed it to happen and somewhere down the road the players who took stuff that was allowed under the rules are not to blame. Now, if the players do it they are breaking the rules-but when you aren't educated to the dangers, and most weren't-you got to lay off these guys and go after the source-and that is baseball itself.

    JBL at Ski Lodge

Saturday, February 7, 2009, 04:15 PM EST [General]

Here I am at Stein Eriksen Lodge in Utah with my wife, and this is about all I am doing-blogging and working. My wife skis and loves ski resorts, I don't ski because of my back and knees-so here I am looking at a mountain full of snow and people having fun.

Really sad to hear my good friend Paul Bearer's wife has passed, my best wishes to him and all his family.

Well, after next Sunday, I will own Shawn Michaels-pretty cool. He will look good in his monkey suit dancing.

Going to Cabo next week, it's my anniversary week so I am excited about the sun part of the ski/sun vacation. The current Mrs. Layfield is still doing well on Wall Street, so I have decided to keep her. Actually, she hasn't taken my name yet, so I guess it is up to her to keep me.

You can go on Fox 17 Nashville and check out my segments I do with Charlie Chase and Kelly Sutton-go to Tennessee Mornings. Pretty cool stuff. We talked last week about taxes, hey, if we have a deficit-how about getting the Obama cabinet to just start paying their taxes, everything helps.

Worrying about their tax situation is like worrying about a guy with a brain tumor's headaches, giving him aspirin won't really help long term. Problem is these guys in congress are used to getting away with whatever they want. We call it stealing-they call it "pork", how cute.

Amazon.com is currently sold out of Layfield Energy, but it will have more soon. You can go on www.layfieldenergy.com to get you some though.

Alex Rodriguez was on steroids a lot of the news organizations are reporting. I think we should have a congressional investigation-I mean when the housing mess was starting our congress was investigating steroids in baseball-boy, that's important to our countries economy. Let's not worry about two wars a recession, let's figure out if A-Rod is on the gas.

Poor President Obama, I think he is trying to do the right thing-he is just surrounded by goofs.

OK, enough of the blogging-after all, I am at a beautiful ski lodge-I'll go....wait on my wife. What a life. Does she not realize how important I am?

Oh, and I heard about Tommy Dreamer's quotes of having the best numbers on the health tests-this is true. Years ago, the best blood pressure belonged to my old friend and manager, Dutch Mantell. Dutch and I share a birthday by the way with The King-Jerry Lawler, but not the same year. Both of them are 25 years older than me.

    Overachiever Club

Saturday, January 31, 2009, 10:41 PM EST [General]

OK, it is official-Charlie Haas is in the over achiever club. Jackie is Charlie's wife, and he so over achieved-she's nice, pretty and Charlie is...well, Charlie. We were with Charlie and Jackie today at Custom Muscle in Frisco, Texas with a whole bunch of WWE and Custom Muscle fans. It was great to see Charlie's business and what all he has done.

Charlie should be very proud of himself, he and Jackie have built a terrific business. You should stop by and visit when in North Dallas and buy your smoothies or vitamin stuff.

Sign Guy was there, and I actually signed something for him. Never understood why I would sign something for someone who has caused me so much grief. But then I realized, when he was on that show-Millionaire or Let's Make a Deal or Deal or no Deal or I'm Stupid Let me Prove it Show-something like that. He ended up taking something like $32.00 instead of $1,000,000 for some reason.

So, I felt sorry for him that he only got $32 instead of a million so I signed his stuff. OK, maybe I am exaggerating, but then again maybe not. I'm just glad people care enough to make signs about me-good or bad. And, believe me, as bad of a good guy as I was, I would rather them hate me-I am a lot better at people hating me.

But don't tell Sign Guy I ever said anything nice about him, because I will claim to have been impaired. He is actually better at being hated as well.

Charlie is now serving Drank in his store, as well as the world's first relaxation "shot" Drank Deuce. You can also buy Layfield's Energy and Mamajuana. www.layfieldenergy.com and Amazon also carry our stuff.

I have a small problem with Shawn Michaels I have to deal with Monday. Could be very interesting.

I am in Texas to watch Super Bowl with the current Mrs. Layfield, actually she never even took my name-but Meredith is with me and we plan to have a big party with my parents to watch the Super Bowl. I don't think Arizona can match up to the Steelers defense-but you never know, that's why they play the game.

These new age women, who do they think they are not taking my name? What does she think, that she is one of most powerful people in world-oh, never mind, she is. At least I don't have to take her name. Charlie calls her my 401k, and claims that I am the overachiever, he is wrong of course.
