What a game the University of Texas played against Ohio State. This is the second great game of the season by UT, the first they lost to Texas Tech in one of the best finishes I have ever seen.
Colt McCoy (seen above) was ripped off in my opinion; I thought he should have won the Heisman Trophy. Nothing against Bradford from OU, nor nothing against my friend J.R., but Colt brought Texas back a couple of times this year-including once against Oklahoma. The only close game Bradford played, he lost.
OU and Florida are great teams and they should be playing for the National Championship, but so should Texas, Alabama, Utah State and USC. I can’t believe there isn’t a playoff in college football. A playoff system would dwarf March Madness. You could put a team like Utah State in there and see what happens. The way it is now, teams will continue making their pre season games easier and easier so they don’t lose a game.
If you had a playoff system teams most teams would only play 10 games, the quarterfinals would be on Dec. 18, the semis on Dec. 25 and the Championship would be on New Year’s Day. You wouldn’t add a day to the college season and some worthless bowls would get playoff games. But no, a bunch of rich idiots love being in control and don’t do what is right for football.
Speaking of rich idiots ... our Congress is going to pass this ridiculous stimulus package. Now let me get this straight, the guys who invented the Ponzi Scheme called Social Security want to investigate Maddof? Or the guys in Congress who have never worked for a living want to fix the economy? Or, the guys in Congress who would be in jail if they were in private enterprise want to weed out corruption? What the heck is going on? At a time when we need great leaders, we have the biggest group of morons in the world running things.
Congrats to my good friend Al Franken on winning his Senate seat in Minnesota. Al will be a breath of fresh air. While I don’t agree politically with my friend, I have been to Iraq with him a couple of times and know how much he loves our country - and I deeply admire that. Now guys like Al are supposed to run for Congress, guys who want to make the country better, not run for politics because they can’t do anything else.
Also, I have seen a lot of people hammer Al in the media. Al has been on a ton of USO tours; I would like to ask those who take him to task how many they have been on. It’s funny how you can appreciate someone with different political views when you know how much he loves the country.
And, what is wrong with politics when the best thing the Republicans could do in Minnesota is bring up old SNL skits Al had done that they found offensive - these idiots deserved to lose for their petty politics. They didn’t bring up Al’s record, just his old comedy routines they didn’t like. And do they really wonder why everyone hates politicians.
BTW, check out www.layfieldenergy.com to see my almost 100 pound weight loss pics from my new product, Layfield’s Energy. I saw on one of the comments that the before picture was doctored, this is not true - look for yourself. I weighed in at 330 pounds when I started dieting and for the photos I just took for Muscle and Body Magazine, I weighed in below 235 pounds - almost 100 pounds. You have to see this to believe it.
A lot of people ask me about The Wrestler. I thought it was awesome and extremely well written. This was the business I broke into many years ago. However, that business has changed - and for the better.
In the last six months, I have had MRIs, concussion tests, HIV test, trauma test, drug test and even my cholesterol tested - which was the only one I failed. This business in WWE is really a corporate environment these days - it has changed for the better. I am glad for my old days, I wouldn’t change a thing. But the WWE has done so much to clean up the abuse that the business as I knew it was so known for.
All that being said, I loved the movie. Even with all the negative stereotypes in the movie, this was a part of what I did to get to WWE and it was fun to watch. A little scary to watch, but fun.
Don’t forget to catch me on my regular gig on Cashin’ In on Fox News on Saturday mornings at 11:30 a.m. ET. Or, on Cavuto every night on Fox Business at 6:00 p.m. ET. I am really proud of the shows that Fox produces, I think they do a good job of making TV fun to watch.
www.layfieldenergy.com go on it, and check it out, you will be glad you did!

I admire anyone that can have a difference of opinion (especially when it comes to something as "touchy" as United States politics) with someone and still sit down at the same table with them and remain friends. It amazes me how many people from my generation and so much older haven't learned how to do that, and for the sake of arguement, don't want to do that. I've heard great things about Mickey Rourke's performance in "The Wrestler". I'll definitely take a look.
